Has there ever been a more obvious example of the difference in approach of two programs in pursuit of athletic success? USF won’t re-sign a star player out of the portal because he left the program while Oviedo CC signs a star player out of the portal with multiple felony charges . . .

Prep phenom Mikey Williams is already on campus, taking in the Saturday’s game vs. No. 18 BYU at Addition Financial Arena.

yeah and if he gets them to the NCAA tournament, I'm sure it would be turned into a feel good story, they took a chance on him, he's trying to turn his life around narrative.  Unless it goes horribly wrong, at the end of the day, the only thing people will care about is success.

  2. Coach has his reasons, but don't understand all the "he quit on the team" comments.  A football scholarship is a 1 year deal.  Nothing is guaranteed.  The coach decides to extend each year.  Unlike Weaver, Battie played out the season before transferring.   I can't fault him for going somewhere else for the money.

5 on Tulane is a beast

Too bad Tulane is so injured at QB otherwise its game over for VT

VT uniforms are terrible, probably 2nd worst in CFB

On paper, the matchup looked entertaining and then the Tulane starting QB and 3 starting receivers weren't playing.  With the transfer portal, bowl season is a joke.

I don't think i'm alone in being very underwhelmed by what was shown, considering the price tag.

Whatever "designer" threw this job together in Photoshop doesn't exactly inspire confidence in design capabilities.

At the firm I work at, that wouldn't have been allowed out the door, although it's a walkway with an arch...kind of difficult to dress that up anymore.  Probably threw something together quickly to get an image out for the BOT meeting.

Seems like a lot of posters on this website are spending 10-15-20 minutes writing posts bashing the renderings instead of the 30-40 minutes it would take to listen to the BOT meeting, where much of which was discussed and is contradictory to assumptions made from the renderings.

  6. Looking at the renderings again, it could be the home and away sides that are reinforced concrete and the end zones are steel supported bleachers which could then be removed and replaced when capacity is increased.  The added capacity would be end zone seating and the seating similar to what's above the tunnels on each side of the end zones at RayJay.  If the two end zones were originally concrete, it would be much more expensive to replace / upgrade when they increase capacity.  Just a guess, like everyone else on here....

Picking your brain for a moment...who's replacing Sean Atkin's catches next season?  We've seen flashes from some of the other receivers but no consistency.  Unless we get some real stud recruits, I don't see any freshmen coming in and making an immediate impact.

It's fine but... we need to fill that gap presumably with better talent. All eyes will be on whether we can actually bring in the talent we need to compete.

Who are the experienced talented DBs we have coming into 2024?

    Been quiet on that front

When he was hired, I remember Golesh complaining that the ratio of  db's / safeties on the team was ridiculously out of proportion than a normal team would have.  I think we'll need another season of graduations / transfers to purge out more room for replacements.  Not saying he can't get good guys as replacements this off-season, just mean that he won't have a full complement of quality starters and backups going into next season.

There you have it, folks. Right there in the bible. Everything bad that's happened to us: 2007 ending in futility, Leavitt fired, relegated to AAC, never winning a conference championship, Skip Holtz, Charlie Strong, Jeff Scott, UCF to B12, left behind multiple times in realignment, etc. All of it. We danced and worshipped the golden calf (brahman) and now we've been cursed for it.

Maybe if we make a blood sacrifice of the opposing team's mascot at the 50 yard line to open the new OCS all will be forgotten.
