I haven't seen it posted on here, but do any USF fans remember the last time the Bulls played Houston in 2002?
I tweeted it out a few minutes ago in my weekly throwback ... The Bulls won 32-14, behind QB Marquel Blackwell's 5 total touchdowns in what would be his final game under center for USF.
The win was USF's 9th of the season (4-0 against Conference USA opponents, which USF would join in 2003) and should have propelled them into a bowl. But in the end, they were left out.
Jim Leavitt gave many great quotes after that one, from what I've read in our archives. Including this winner: "Maybe I need to run naked through the streets of Tampa with a sign that says we need to go to a bowl."
