We may not have played defense, but **** if we weren’t exciting and scored some points. This was the most pathetic game I’ve been to in-person as well and don’t really see a silver lining  here at all.

 

 

Selective memory? We scored 30 or more in just 3 out of the first 30 games against FBS teams with Taggart as a coach. Then Flowers bailed him out. Then he got the hell out of dodge and now is leading FSU to historically (for them) bad seasons. 

I watched both links. They did not disappoint.

The one good thing about the conference TV deal is the championship game is on ABC without much competition. The 3.4 million viewers is not far off from what the PAC 12 and ACC championships draw. It is roughly 3.5 times the viewers of the next G5 conference championship the MWC.

FWIW, the AAC championship game is on ABC, not the Ocho. It has a significant number of viewers. Last year it had 3.3 million viewers (double that of College Gameday) for an afternoon game competing against other games that day. For comparison, the PAC 12 championship in a prime time slot with no other competition had 4.0 million viewers. We can argue the merits of winning a championship that isn’t from a power conference, but no doubt it brings exposure. And since it is the only path to a major bowl and even more exposure, it is that much more important.

The even funnier thing is Temple, UConn, and Cincy were in the big east for a long time. Another division team that didn’t spend time in the big east is UCF. Who we all are familiar with.

Tournament should be a reward to the team. They played well enough in the first half to deserve that reward. If football can get a reward bowl for finishing with 7 straight losses, might as well reward the basketball team who by all accounts outperformed expectations.  

In NET the Big East is #5 slightly ahead of #6 AAC. Then there is a sizeable gap to the Pac-12 at #7. PAC-12 may be a 1 bid league.

USF had a non conference SoS ranked 329 this year. The 4 teams that reached 21-22 wins from the American are likely in the tournament by the way. NC State has 21 wins and are not in most brackets due to their weak strength of schedule. 

No path to NIT now. Just have to hope to win 4 in 4 days next week. 

Have to hope the regular season champs win their conference tournament to have any shot. NIT guarantees a spot to the smaller conference regular season champs who don’t make the NCAAs. 

UF doesn’t play 1-1 against any team not named FSU. Even P5 teams. Have to go back to the early 90s to find the last time they did. Basically if you want them on the schedule 2-1 or 1 away is the only way to do it. 

Every fan base wants 10 win seasons and conference titles. 10% of teams achieve that. So 90% of hires are “bad”.

Was watching on the video board during the coin toss and what he described is exactly what happened. UCF players extended to shake hands and our players clasp their hands behind their backs and refused. 

Was an embarrassment actually. And to follow it up with that pitiful performance made it even worse. 

We have sucked all year and was just a matter of time before we got exposed. Barely beating Illinois, ECU, UConn, and Tulsa didn’t inspire confidence. We thought we were just playing down to the opponent when in reality we were at that level. 

UConn is FCS level. Line seems right.

I say we move to 20. Lots of top 25 lost and many of those that won were not impressive. 

Can’t see Memphis coming out of the west. Even if they beat Houston Houston would need 2 more losses. 

Isn’t BYU considered P5 for scheduling purposes. Sort of like Notre Dame. Could they really steal the G5 conference spot as independent?
