The Big East was only technically, and somewhat financially, the major leagues. The conference stature took a hit with the departures in 2005 and never really regained it ...

Losing the money DOES matter and considering we never took advantage of being on the inside anyway, the money is really ALL that matters ... especially considering that we do still have a shot a "BCS" bowl, now called an Access Bowl .... if things stay the way they are now ... and nobody is enjoying any bliss. Just some are able to handle reality better than others.
