He should have brought a computer cord last night so he could whip the FSU players with it. Maybe we would have won.

really tired of the way our society has taken this ass backward "guilty until proven innocent" mentality.

an ARREST is not conviction. a CHARGE is not a CONVICTION.

until or unless someone is found GUILTY or pleads guilty/no contest a charge is nothing more than an accusation.

the purpose of a trial is to determine the validity of evidence BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT (in a criminal case, the standards are different in civil suits).

if the trial hasn't happened yet, which in this case IT HASN'T, Chris MUST be considered innocent.

sickening. nowadays people lose their jobs, their careers, their scholarships, their educations, their spot on a team, their reputation before a trial date is even scheduled. an arrest is enough to screw somebody for life, even if charges are dropped. charges can screw somebody for life, even if they are found not guilty in a trial.

God forbid anything ever happen to some of u. you'll be BEGGING for the same benefit of the doubt GUARANTEED BY LAW that u are so eager to toss aside for everybody else.

You and Mookie are 100% correct ... Problem is a portion of the board is in a piranha-like feeding frenzy.

He should be off the team until he is "proven" innocent.

When i started out as an attorney, I did criminal defense work for the public defender's office. On DV cases where the victim complained after the fact, I always got a straight up dismissal or not guilty (no diversion or deferred judgment).

Victims that did not call the police immediately but waited for days always flaked out. Often times, once it became obvious the defendant was going to get a lawyer and make the victim tell her story under oath on the stand (never had a woman client), the Victim would beg the DA to drop the charges.

People should relax and let this play out.

i hope they allow this kid to defend himself in court and have a verdict rendered by a jury of his peers before they shitcan the guy.

unfortunately that's not how it works nowadays. if u catch a charge you're gone, even if a few months down the line you're found "not guilty."

When Duval got arrested earlier this year, he was suspended until the charge was dropped, then let back on the team.

Now this is a bit more serious than his charge, so I doubt that will happen

The charges were dropped, but that doesn't mean he wasn't guilty of the theft.

What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Innocent or guilty on this particular incident, his judgement is questionable.

So if he's innocent his judgement is questionable?? Why?

Either he did it, or his "girlfriend" is a liar. Correct? What is the possible third scenario that makes his judgement sound?

Being proven innocent or guilty in a court of law is different than what happens as a member of the football team.
