The Boy Scouts line the graves with flags every year. I don't think many know that Marietta has a National Cemetery with almost 20,000 graves. They had a ceremony at noon with Lt. General Russell Honore. We just missed him. :-( Lots of military in my family and my wive's, lucky in that none have lost their lives in the line of duty. We are so thankful for them. My brother-in-law was on the USS Stark and was one of the heroes that helped saved shipmates as well as the ship. My cousin is one of the commanding officers at NAS Pensacola. My sister-in-law is a Navy Reserve nurse who does her weekend once a month at Bethesda Naval Hospital. Several more are now out of active service, including my bro-in-law Mike who was on the Stark, due to medical reasons. Went to his retirement ceremony at Mayport. They had the Stark's bell there. He was a Mustang which means he started at the bottom and went into the officer's ranks. He had letters of thanks for his service signed by every living U.S. President. And he is the most down to earth guy I know. So yes, very thankful for the Vets and extremely thankful for those that have fallen to protect America. God Bless them all. The Stark after being hit. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Stark_(FFG-31)
