I will say this, i think the best thing the big east can do to survive as a football conference is tell ND to join the big east football conference or piss off for all other sports.  This essentially means that the big 10 gets what they want most, and possibly have them stop there.

rutgers would benefit greatly.  it's the  big 10 that wouldn't benefit.  how many people from new york actually watch rutgers.

You're honestly kidding yourself if you think people from NYC and Long Island care about Rutgers. I lived there growing up and Rutgers wasn't even mentioned when college football was brought.

The one nice season they had in 2006 has long since faded from the publics mind. NYC and LI are professional sport markets and always will be.

Now slap yourself

Btw, RU did a 8.1 rating in NYC for that UL/RU game.  No other college team including ND has ever put up numbers like that in the NYC market.

Here's a laugher because RU did better than USF in the same bowl game a year later.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
