Does anybody know if the coaches actually want him?  Or if there is a scholarship available?  I thought I remember we were skating close on the scholarship limits.

Two thoughts on this.

1 - USF does not need to be thought of as a place which will compromise academics and "team" for a guy with a lack of respect for both.  If you don't think that UM is happy he is gone, you are seriously mistaken.  From all that has been posted on this kid's behavior at UM, it sounds like he has more baggage than we need at this time.  Good athlete, does not mean good player, nor good teammate.

2 - The Plant HS coach said "“That is the final six right now, but there is time for others to still jump in the game,†Weiner said.   What do  they think they have on their hands there?  The next Brett Farve?   C'mon, the kid didn't prove himself at UM, and he is risky due to his other reported issues.

One closing thought (yes, this is 3).   To those who say since he was a "hot" prospect coming out of HS, we should want him now, I disagree.   Football is a team sport and as people have seen guys who are all about themselves tend to be a distraction.  Think Keyshawn, Terrell Owens, etc.   When you leave and people describe you as a "cancer" to the team, that is a bad thing.

We do not need any more distractions.   Just my opinion, though.....

I'm sticking with a 50/50 shot at he being a BULL.

though there's only a 10 percent chance of that.

Come on!! Nobody got this?  I thought it was funny.  >:(

Yes, we got it.  But much like a Gilligan's Island rerun, it just isn't as funny the 8th, 9th, or 10th time you have seen it.....

I was getting ready to give you props on this the other day but I got distracted and forgot to post it.

I just have an open mind regarding him as I really don't know  . . . who knows if he would be a problem. I trust in Leavitt ... and it's been repeated many times. He wouldn't be playing in 2009, if he does turn out to be a problem - he'd be gone.

I am thinking of a great athletic "prospect" at a NEED position.

I agree with you on the CJL standpoint too.

But am afraid this guy would do whatever to get on the team, then not live up to his side of the bargain.

We don't need distractions, nor any more bad press about players.  Not that they all should be boy scouts and model citizens, but at least under control would be nice (and that is not under influence of a controlled substance, btw).

I can't tell you a lot.

But someone on the USF athletics UWC sent Student Government a report not too long ago. Leavitt has spoken to them and he does want Marve. I can't say (nor tell you ) any m ore than that.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
