Last sunday game we had sucked!!  I really doubt we'll have a good crowd, even with a ranked team.

Playoffs were on.

Not during the bball game.  I watched both playoff games and went to the men's game.  So take that!

...I think if USF can put together a team that is .500 in the league, and .750 or better in OOC games, you'd see 6000 - 7000 fans no problem...

I think that's fair. Last night - even with the free ticket giveaway - not much of a crowd. I liked watching us win one (having sat through my fair share of losses), and agree that if we were competitive, that would change attendance.

I believe it was the 2nd best crowd of the season next to L'ville with nowhere near the opposing fans. I was impressed with the student turnout, whatever the reason was. Sunday afrernoon's turnout should be interesting with a top 15 team coming in.

The student turn out may be less than usual because Gasperilla is the night before. Many college students will get to the parade at 10 am and then head to chanelside untill 3am....... Not sure how many students with a hang over will make it for a 2pm tip off. I will try to get there. That may be a factor for low student turnout though.

Are they doing that pre-game patio thing for Sunday?

Our students suck!  That's it.  It's 2pm!!  You get to bed at 3:30am and you still get enough sleep.  People need to wake their ass up, go to the game and then they can head back to bed.

At least wait until they don't show up on Sunday before ripping on them ...  ;)

It will take a while to get back to that. There is a lot of built-in apathy right now, due to years of losing records and no post-season. I wonder how many people really remember the glory days when USF went to the NCAA's?

It is possible...

How is FSU's attendance?  I'd have to say they have been only slightly better than USF.  Anyway, there should be 2000 stu's at each game minimum.  Put the tents away.  Just go to the games.  I know the ones that don't go to the games aren't trolling this board but those stu's are really missing out on memories.  When the puppies arrive and you get entrenched in a carreer, it's not easy making it to week nite games or weekend day games.

The only way USF will have another sell out is for it to be a Top 35 team vs a ranked team or a against the Big 3.  I'm not even sure UCF would draw 6K.  There needs to be a minimum of 5K at each game and 8K-9K for the big ones.  Its really a shame that this program can't get off its azz and win some games and put some butts in the seats.  I do know one thing is I'm pissed at the Trib for no first page sports story of the USF Bulls third BE victory and the crappy BM money article.  I'm really thinking about canceling that fish wrap.  Crap..now I'm in a bad mood.  >:(

Notre Dame game is going to be pretty close to a sellout.  At least from what I've been hearing the last couple of weeks.  That might be due to a large ND fan base in the Tampa/St. Pete area.  They are doing a pregame Mass and dinner at the Catholic Church on 56th Street for all ND alumni.  I received an email from my brother about it (he's an ND alum).

Guest BasketBull.

USF would need a BIG NAME coach and the commitment to advertise the program, etc.,  in oder to make a huge financial investment in men's bball worthwhile. Anything else and it's a bad investment.

Throw out the money and use the same tactics (let the staff do all the work) will be futile.

Well, the thing that I'm counting on is our AD came from a school with a  successful men's bball program...

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
