Unless you are driving. I selected a flight that came in on the day of the game. 12-28 (most of the Bowl activities are that day because it is a night game)  and left the 29th with a hotel and the deal came to just above $300......  The same deal but to BHam came out to 400

You obviously didn't try Southwest Airlines (Southwest.com)

You can still fly roundtrip to BHM for around $205.

PS. Southwest also flies into Hobby in Houston non-stop from Tampa...for about $275 around those dates of the Texas Bowl...but their cheap fares are running out.

Texas would be better because it would be a big 12 opponent rather than a c-usa opponent.  I would rather see us play against a big 12 team.

Drive from BHam to Tampa on christmass eve = 20 hours.  I'm shooting for the post christmass Texas Bowl.

But would you rather see the Bulls have a better chance of winning the bowl game in BHam.

bulls2saintleo,

This is the attitude I don't understand from Bulls fans. We've played plenty of bad teams this year year. Yes, and Texas Tech is also pretty aweful all around. However, we left C-USA to play the big boys.

What does winning the bowl game do? get us tshirts that says "Papajohns.com Bowl Champs!" Please.

Bring on the stat monster that is Texas Tech.

You do bring up a good point, and I completely understand that playing a more recognizable team in a bowl game could help us as well.  But I just meant it as a "where are our chances better for a win" kind of question.  A first bowl win is always going to be remembered forever, no matter where it is played and who you beat.

It's like that saying (pardon if I've misquoted it):   You always remember your first.

Seems I saw the ACC might not be able to fill a spot in the Champs Bowl...why not slide us in against the Big 12.  Sorry if i'm wrong...just flapping my gums..haven't checked it out in last few days.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
