Actually one of the most upbeat guys I know.  They went from 4 to 2 seats a couple years ago because no one wanted to see our trash show.  Just like we went from 8 to 6.  Just like I don't understand how anyone could vote for certain people or policies, he sees it as a waste and doesn't want to support it. Like I said before, he's had season tix from game 1.

Just adds to the quirkiness aspect of our relatively young fan base ...... hard to imagine a fan of any other college football program quitting because the school's spending too much money on the program. Again, though, to each his own.

This is like when a person complains that you waste money on food instead of travel or when another person thinks you waste too much money on travel instead of food.

The waste label seems to be applied based on their preferences instead of the person spending the money.

it depends how much those next 10k are willing and able to pay. won't be cost effective at $100/season.

You probably need to let go of that extreme.  There won't be a $100 seat unless it's like this:

I think puc has outlined that position multiple times.

But, still, I don't get it.  On the other hand, there isn't a reason for a lot of confidence in USF leadership.  History does matter.   I can see that being the driver behind that guy's feeling that it's going to be just another mistake.  We'll have to wait and see.  Remember, some way we are flat out cursed...  that may be true.

I get that others don’t hold the same views as I do, and I certainly get the reason for leaving due to our trash show, his reasoning is simply a head scratcher to most rational people. Oh well, he held season tickets for 26 years longer than me so god bless him, the losing has probably made him delusional and he is attempting to regain his sanity.

There's a breaking point for everyone.  I'm actually (been) near breaking.  That surprises some and others will say "He never really was a fan then".  But I'm cool with that.  You're right we don't all hold the same views.

I don't begrudge anyone for bailing on USF athletics.  They've certainly given them enough reasons to bail.  Pain tolerance is very subjective.

Let us remember, that someone's stated position may be what is released for public consumption and not necessarily the full-disclosure truth. It might sound better - moral high ground, righteous indignation, swimming downstream or whatever. The reasons stated are the official position and that's all we'd have to go on. All that being said, I can understand taking a more transactional position as the years go by: is this still enjoyable? What's going to happen with the new digs (since nothing is etched in stone at this point) based on my assessment that ticket expense will increase in dollar value with no guarantee of a related increase in the 'experience'. If I were a gamblin' man, which I am, I'd bet that the OCS revenue model is going to be such that a lot of people who have, for years, enjoyed the benefits of being 'grandfathered in' will now have to have the big discussion.  And along with that comes the confession. Did I drop the tix because of increased cost, or did I drop tix because of my feelings about the program?  There is no polygraph attached to the board, and spin, in the best of times and the worst of times, is our friend. Cynical ole Mister Robinson thinks that people are a bit more transactional than they like to let on. Not everyone, but a large chunk of the population. :iconic_u_black:

I got invited to go to the Florida Tennessee game in Gainesville.  I said nope.  I'm gonna go sit in my over priced seat at Ray Jay with 40k of my closest Tide fans and watch my USF Bulls get humiliated on national TV.  Sometimes I question my own sanity.

What's puc got to do with a donor quitting because we're spending too much on the program ... ?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
