Speaking of spring games...I remember back in the Leavitt days going to spring games and seeing scores like 6-3 (probably not exact, but you get the idea--low scoring games), and being worried.  Then during the season it became evident that we had quite a few pro caliber players on defense.  In more recent years, the spring games have seemed to be high scoring games with lots of excitement...but then when the season started, we learned that it was pretty easy to score on our defense.

    Here's hoping for a low-scoring spring game.

It's hard to assess how good you really are when you're playing with yourself...😉

They ( Coach Rahim, Youngblood, Stroud) achieved something amazing at Kennesaw State. I hope they can recreate that mojo and do the same at USF. I am excited about this upcoming season. It would be fantastic to get back to the NCAAT.

A lot of really close games in a weaker conference are somewhat tempering my expectations. Hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

  3. I remember being at the BYU game and saw the coaching staff utilizing signs to signal what defense they were running. While our defense was looking at the signs, BYU was running their next play. I knew it was going to be a long year after seeing that. I'm betting that it was more about dumb coaching decisions than our players' abilities.

  4. The problem I see with Deion would be sustainability. We would get a ton of 4-5 star recruits while he's here, but once he left for what he thinks is a better job, our best players would transfer and the recruiting would go back to the doldrums (like JSU is seeing right now). It would've been fun to see in the short term, but long term we are better off with a solid X's and O's coach that can actually build a tradition for high-octane offenses. We were on our way there with CWT but CCS took a sledgehammer to that. I knew we were in trouble once CCS said he was going to slow down the offense so the defense could have time to take a drink...

It better be Leavitt as DC

That would ease a lot of fan disappointment with not getting Deion. CAG was a pleasant surprise for me. I was just hoping it wasn’t going to be Manny Diaz. CAG, from what I’m hearing, is an intense dude that gets the most from his players. Total opposite of CJS. He’s also worked on the defensive side of the ball so that also gives me some comfort.

Here's a fair question... I think it's clear that Deion did indeed visit the USF campus earlier this week. There's been enough reporting through the grapevines... has there ever been any reporting that he actually has visited Colorado, stepped foot on campus? I haen't seen any.

According to the interview posted a couple days ago, he has not.
