  1. How much of the Taggart euphoria is merely an expression of 'Thank God Holtz Is Gone'? Would we be any less exuberant, regardless of who the new coach is? While he has been successful at saying the right things - which is what one would expect from a new coach - I'll 'board the bus' when I see on the field results.   As for the discussion about an OCS...I'm pretty certain that's here on the board (as it has been for the past decade plus), and not really tied to CWT. Winning national championships: wasn't that the phrase? part of why he wanted to come to USF?, in seeing how the FBS is now, and will be for some time, I'm also going to defer enthusiasm on that idea, but I do agree it's what fans want to hear. One thing to have an open-ended goal...quite another to start attaching milestones.

I want him to succeed, really...turn this thing around. I just need to see happen, 'cause I've sat through the "This New Coach is Great!" movie before.  :FIREdevil:

    Respectfully,

    W. Bully

    Expectation Management Division

    Dear Expectation Management Division..

To help with your expectation I faithfully submit the following...

I bought one power ball ticket and I will build that Stadium if I win. 95% of the OC stadium cost I will cover...

I would like to have other fans have the opportunity to be part of it..  I would like everyone to be a part of bringing SF to the national level..

  2. I have hope and it does feel like a new JL has taken the reins but if successful he will leave unless we move up in the college world of FB and even then he may still leave.  Unlike Skip who I never felt was a great choice Tag seems like he could be excellant - of course my judgement may be clouded by the firing of coach Leavitt.

Bowden stayed at FS for over 2o years.. Willie Taggart has solid roots in this area...Im hoping that the QUALITY OF LIFE in tampa bay will help him  decide to remain here...

Money can distract and disrupt.  Willie has some very young kids and I imagine his wife would like some stability for the kids growing up..So I hope..

  3. My wife  went to FSU with her boyfriend at the time..  He wound up a big FS donor and traveled to every game...

The common  comment was how hard it was to get season tickets and the waiting list..

So when USF started its football program I made sure to get in on the ground floor..

Im there got tickets and going to see them play FS...Stayed in good  hotel in Tallahassee tailgated and took a pictures  ..

Im high enough on  priority points to get guaranteed ticktes. YES LIFE IS GOOD.

    Go Bulls..

  4. Could it be called the Doug Woulard turnaround of 2013? His hands are in the pot too aren't they?

I did not mention Doug on purpose.. I would like to let  that whole issue be put  behind us. the past is the past and that cannot be changed..

I have lived with enough destructive negatives in my life..

.I wanted to look at our BRIGHT NEW FUTURE.  playing FS my wife's alma mater..

I think Doug  is doing a good job right now but to many people have a problem letting go of the past..

If people cannot or will not forgive Doug then I truly feel sorry for them IMO that dislike will fester and boil in them and ruin the day..

    Go Bulls

  5. I never play the lottery because of the negative effects that can happen... I saw last night how many people gave it all away to good causes to save themselves and thier quality of liffe.

In that spririt..I will spend my two bucks on a tickett  this week and IF I should winn.  I will fund the complete OCS...

My would honoer Lee Roy Selman, JL and others.. With Bronze Statues

As special plaque to   Matt Grothe and BJ Daniels for the Win at Tallahassee..

I would like to lead the running of the Bulls for the first game in the new stadium..

And a sit down dinner with Willie T and all the coaches..

    Go Bulls

  6. The WillieTaggart Turnaround Miracle..

USF as a destination..OCS and other issues..

I know I am early in this assessment since USF hasn’t played its first football game under Coach Taggart but I would like to comment on the change in the atmosphere at USF.

IMO I feel the electricity and excitement  â€¦its even stronger then the JL days..We have recruits calling other recruits saying come play at USF…

QB transfers are now considering at USF as a destination…We might not get them all but  we are in the running and that is a 100% turn around..

There seems to be renewed interest in an OCS discussing locations etc…

Our other sport programs  are doing great also…Track, Softball, Golf, Baseball..To me there is excitement in the air….The Basebulls   and other USF sports are displaying the same attitude the football team had under JL…never give up… what a difference from last year…

I know that not all of this is due to Willie Taggart but IMO I sure believed he has helped..

  7. Wes Lunt is going to transfer from OSU...of the 5 schools OSU has said no to his top 3..

The last two are Louisville...doesn't make to much sense with the exting QB

and Illinois...I wonder if he is willing to expand the list???

Here a link to the latest write up.. I wonder if CWT has any interest???

  8. OSU not going to let him go to his top 3 picks   ..This whole QB transfer situationis getting to be like musical chairs.. The last two are Louisville...doesn't make to much sense with the exting QB

  9. Figured i'd drop this here instead since it seems like a more appropriate thread

Here's another "contestant" for the future. We offered him in 2012.

    http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Chavas-Rawlins-135888

@BFeldmanCBS: RT @EyeOnCFB: WVU QB Chavas Rawlins to transfer - http://t.co/WotwOGyDaE Was a member of 2013 class and an early enrollee

I wonder if Clint Trickett had anything to do with that decision???

I guess he would have to sit out one year???  If any one knows  please verify..

    Go Bulls

  10. How do these visits work? Does a player put out feelers to potential schools - schools where they really want to go -  or do schools contact a player who's announced that they're transferring and offer an invite? And if a player did reach out, would a school necessarily come back and say 'nah, don't bother. We're set at [this position] unless you're looking to change."? I would imagine it's somewhat less intense than a recruiting trip for a blue-chip.

I believe there is phone contact and an invte to the recruit. if USF is interest---OFICIAL VISIT.. USF would  pick up the tab for expenses.

No need to set up a trip if the recruit does not have the fit USF coaches are looking for

On an unoficial visit I believe it's on the recruit's nickle..

Mitchell only has one year so pehaps the staff want to spend more time grooming Miller and White..

IMO We have way to many QB on the roster that do not have the quality to play D! QB ball .  Maybe they can be used in another slot???

I liked Miller in the Spring game...Looked solid and might be the right back up for Bench...Also Miller has experience at USF...If Bench and Miller can get it together than White could be red shirted and brought up to speed and conditioning..

Got to have hope  for a solid QB player..

  11. ...and if we were in Vegas, I'd bet on lease renewal vice OCS.

    But that's just me...  :FIREdevil:

Fully agree on the renewal.. Im just happy with the renewed interses on our Football program...In any case if they get the site squared away Im ready to contribute..  I just dont want a stadium like UCF..Hot noisy and unconfortable seat...ok if you are young its ok when old  I like the seats at Ray Jay.....Also would USF have to give up on the beer...

FS has a big area set aside for tailgaiting not next to the stadium..It was great and they had buss service to the stadium..I think it worked out great...Loking forward to Tallahassee again..

    Now for the QB...

  12. The confusing part to me is why they wouldn't be interested.

Mitchell has definitely spoken to the coaches though. But perhaps the interest just wasn't that mutual.

I can only assume that CWT and the rest of the staff have mapped out a long term strategy on our QB issue..

Might have a strong verbal from Bench or  CWT thought there would be too much of a learning curve for only one season.

We should know something in the next two weeks...Pins and Needles time...

  13. Looks like he wants Georgia or USC.   FSU does not want to release him.

If he is released does he still have to sit out for one year. ??? is the NCAA transfer rule in effect at signing the LOI..??

Its hard for me to imagine having a kid on the roster who does not want to be there...but I can also see FS position and not wanting to open any flood gates.

In Baseball they have trades...is there any type of option there????  Can FS stipulate USF as a destination???

    Go Bulls.

  14. Line size is fine

Unless shaw and pierre become workhorse backs, I don't see it yet. Our incoming boys are workhorses though (McCray, Tice, Swanson)

TE's yes....hopefully next week we can say yes to QB's too by landing either Mitchell or Bench.

Our O line is better but lets face it..USF is not a priority recruiting destination

Florida still has dibs on that and other SEC schools..Depth has been a problem and Willie will have to have some alternative plans  ready if USF does not have the depth...

Some quality wins should help with recruiting  but thats the old chicken and egg story..

We have to hope to be injury free and a lot of that can be helped by our conditioning coaches..

    Go Bulls.

  15. I'm not sure which of your statements is the most ignorant, but I'll see if I can rank them for you:

I'd say praising Steven Branch's "tough it out attitude" in light of his transfering to a new school upon being passed over for the starting spot would be #1.

Au Contrare..Tough is making a difficulr decision...Going to QB camp and getting an professional opinion is not for the meek.. Knowing one limmitations and accepting them is IMO verry smart..

Not  picking USF is not an issue.. That soft issue is based on previous reports/write ups made durring his senior year...I still need to buy you a Beer no matter how IGNORANT I am I still able to find my wallet...

    Go Bulls

    keep the pages flowing...

  16. I have not witnessed any leader among our existing QB's.. Steven Bench I believe would easily get the starting job...

.Fumbled snaps is not a great motivator neither are floaters and interceptions..

Its hard to take a  receicer to task when he runs a poor route if QB throws the ball  5 feet over his head..

A QB  cannot take the OL to task for not blocking if he fumbled the ball at the snap.

A QB cannot take the defense to task  for not stopping the opponent  when he plays poorly..

Our team needs a leader and IMO Steven Bench can be that leader and bring the much needed moral boost and winning spirit. ..

  17. I was unaware attending USF was something that needed to be "toughed out" by our players. Speaks very highly of our program, bull-71.

BJ needed to step it up a notch with the poor offensive line showing. poor QB protection..More sramble etc...He  did this and it toughened him up (took some hard hits) and the reward IMO was being drafted by the 49ers

AW Dad did nothing but worry about his son getting hurt and his future...more like an attitude of don't expect him to get in the trenches in adverse situations......

Sucess is measured  by  doing/making the best of a bad situation through motivation etc. .  Our previous coaches failed in this area.. and I have not seen this in AW yet...So I have serious doubt..on his future in the NFL..

I observe a tough it out attitude in  Steven Bench...and I hope he comes to USF and gets our program moving forward again..
