  1. I believe Kennard Swanson is on board and enrolled..so Micheal Dyer is not a do or die issue for me..

I just remember how many dreams I had about Ford.. and how disappionted I was with all the off field issues.. Micheal Dyer appears to be out of the same mold as Ford.. just can't get it together..

maybe the third time is the charm for Dyer???

  2. May I add the poor zone coverage ????? Was this caused by the lack of conditioning, training, field awareness???.  The inability to pick up deep routes and make adjustments...

Its hard to get sacks when the receivers are wide open....our secondary was DOA...

The DL shines when there are no open receivers ..make the QB scramble give the DL time to get the sacks....

Cover the receivers and the OL has to hold blocks longer. greater chances for holding penalties and the OL will tire out and slowdown....

This will work out as hurries on the data sheet for the DL....

With an improved secondary the DL will shine...You can take my word on that..

I love that Bourbon Barrel Ale.  Like Ricky, picked up some at last year's Louisville game trip.  Made it last for a while, was my "special occasion" brew.  I invented some special occasions a couple of times.  That stuff is what turned me onto bourbon though.  I'm still a liquor newbie but out of the few bourbons I've had, I like Jim Beam Devil's Cut the best.

You are a liquor newbie? How did you survive the last 2 football seasons? Welcome.....

Beer. Lots and lots of beer. Varying ABV. :)

:roflmao:   Seems if you drink that, you may go blind and not have to see what is going on!

You are so wrong doing that other thing makes you go blind...My mother told me when I was very young..

  4. If this scenario ever come to fruition, and i personally don't think it will, does USF fall back into becoming more of a regionally recognized institution rather than the national and even internationally recognized institution the school (especially under Judy's leadership) has worked so hard to promote itself as?

In and of itself the football program and for that matter, athletics as a whole, has been reflective of the growth of the college. Maybe even led the way in some respects. For example, i started at USF in fall of 1981. Just shortly after basketball was beginning to put itself (Lee Rose, Sundome, bringing in better recruits) on the national map. This was happening at the same the school was committed to growing and breaking from the "commuter school" image. They were committed to becoming more of a national brand.

That growth accelerated first by starting a football team and then took off with the success we had.

If you have ever heard Judy speak, she always talks about building USF as an internationally recognized school. According to her they even send passports with new students' acceptance letters so they have the opportunity to grow internationally as well.

So, my question is whether financial or image wise, does going backward in conference level limit our ability to keep growing toward this end?

My daugter now  a  graduate  of  USF with an  Electrical Engineer  degree studied one   a semester in london as an  undergraduate exchange student..  She Loved it went to france etc..

  5. Remember the line from Animal Farm...Everyone is equal...some are just more equal than others..

Once a Bull always a Bull.. When the competition is no longer fair or honest..I loose interest...

    Go Bulls

Ok I might need to clarify loose interest...

Under the present system as convoluted as it might be... the NC  may not be the best team...

And teams like UofL beat the SEC Gators...  the excuses were great...

If and when they rig the schedule so that only a priveledged few will ever  play for a NC to the exclusion of other better teams  or that the  teams selected make the game a non sporting event I will loose interest..

IMO The only thing saving smaller schools right now is the NFL draft..  The NFL  does not care what school you went to.... If and when that system changes  and all draftees come from only a few select schools then the NFL will be the big looser..

I will still watch USF play..Elon  etc. and keep my season Tickets.   What I will not watch is a bunch of BS hype... it gets old

  6. QB where do we go from here..

    Crystal Ball time…

From my understanding football programs normally have 5 qb in various stages  of development.

IMO right now we Have Steven Bench  experience  and starter  Mike White potential but no experience at D1 college level…

Mitchell is a question right now…..

Eveld and Floyd are backups and if they had potential as starters they should have shown it by now.

So  were do we go next..There are lots of names out there right now..

Chase Litton, Tyler Harris, Michael O'Connor, Quinton “Wanky†Flowers , Nico Pierre   etc.

Opinions  on Who do we land ????

  7.

Bench is not top notch but he may be avg bcs caliber which is all we need out of the position.  RB remains to be seen.

This world is full of idiots and weirdos, nothing to get excited about, Bench isn't going to be sour unless he doesn't make first string.

Pretty much agree with this. If you look at his interviews on why USF he said it was because they were asking him to play for them, that they need him. He doesn't become the starter right off the bat, he may change his tune, that he was deceived because he seems to think he is going to start based on how the coaches and players have treated him.

If you check his senior year in GA he had over 2000 yards  etc...He can run, he can take a snap...he can throw... Thats 3 for 3 ...Floyd and Eveld are 2 for 3 ...  Plus experience at PSU... He has said he wants to start learning the play book....  No moss is going to grow on him..

If you folowed him you see dedication...

IMO He will start and be a leader...I think he will take the first snap at McNeese.. and by the end of the 3rd quarter he will be in full stride...

He knows what it takes to be a winner...he reminds me of BJ Daniels...tough...

It will take some time to adjust to our receivers and routes..... but the running game  --options..shuttle passes etc should be a go from the first day..

  8.

I am losing faith that you may not be the answer to our QB problem

Sounds like the numbuts is leaning towards Bench is the answer to our qb problem ...

Fully agree ...looks like some one posing as a supposed fans is worried.   I guess that it goes with the Renewed feeling of hope in  our Program, new coaches ,  signing a top notch transfer and some quality recruits....

  9. I follow Steven Bench on Twitter…

I truly appreciate his tweets and try get to know him better..

But as of late some SUPPOSED USF FAN.  Has posted things that are just inappropriate.

To witt   From THE ROCK…. grow up dude, Your tweets make no sense and I am losing faith that you may not be the answer to our QB problem

Followed by..  I follow you on twitter and I am a Bulls fan, hit the play book bro instead of tweeting so much. Go start for us!

So ROCK STFU you do not represent me I happen to have a higher IQ..  Im am sure Steven Bench is aware of how this works…He does need or want your advice..

    Go Bulls

  10. No kidding. Blows my mind sometimes that kids are wanting to come here when they have offers like Auburn, LSU, Georgia, etc. I love it!

IMO USF has always been better on defense..and most NFL draft picks from USF have been defense.. ..Here they get playing time if they are good

Pretty safe bet  if you have confidence in yourself and  our coaches..

  11. And you see stellar performance from Steven Bench? Please show me where. I hope he's amazing and helps us go bowling, but he's just as unproven.

QBs will always come to try and compete to start here, doesnt matter whos starting. Grabbing Bama's backup would have been nice.

I'm hoping he has a stellar performance and I agree he's unproven... I do get the impression from write ups and actions like going to San Diego to get evaluated,  that he will be down to earth with his abilities and will be a leader.

We were in dire need of a leader.

So IMO his role a a leader will help pull this team together something lacking last year and lead to wins

His high school stats also were good with 2000 yards in his senior year...not quite as Stunning as ELY's HS yardage

This is my opinion and I would love to have some solid QB back ups...My ideal thoughts I had previously posted was to have Clint Tricket here and Steven Bench...as a second......With the thought of RS White..with him being a follow up in later years..

Clint had the advantage of only one year of playing time..Bench would also play and have two years  as a true starter with White as a back up  and have him as the starter two years later..

But it didn't happen...Yes USF has been poor in the QB depth  and we do not have the  national branding that would induce players to wait..

So we still might be looking for a transfer if  we have some bad luck...

I am excited about our future and feel a lot more positive now  with Steven Bench.  My low point was watching the QB's in the spring game.

    Go Bulls

  12. On another thread someone reported that once we got Bench, we were not taking anymore transfers.

I think if Taggart wanted him he would have gone after him with all the local ties...

I just did not see a stellar performace...Two years in Bama and threw 4 passes...

there are some new recruits out there   (a Colin Kaepernick under the radar)  like Matt Grothe  or Bj Daniels who big progames over look and can do very well at USF..

Bring in Ely and kill future recruiting for years to come with a recruit wondering if he would ever see playing time..

    Go Bulls

  13. Lol, not impressed? Kid won 2 state titles at Plant HS and held offers from Bama, LSU, Clemson, etc. and was the 20th best pro-style QB in the country. Got PLAYING TIME at Bama as a RS Freshman and did well. Pretty sure they won a NC last year.

Would have been a hell of a get, even with him having to sit a year.

Yes  That's why they have horse races...Playing Time IMO is can be dependent on score or injury....????If he took over the games because the starter was out due to injury and brought them back from the jaws of defeat I would agree with you  He helped win the NC ....I did not see any great write up..so correct me if I am wrong..He played while Bama was in the lead and  getting game exposure...this  is a common practice and it was  in six games  not every game IMO not that special ..

He played in six game and threw 4 passes for 42 yards...2 for 3  against Arkansas...for 15 yards...so how many reps did he get???

If he got more reps they were running plays and Why not more passes   no I am glad we got Bench and we can prepare White giving him playing time..
