But you have to compare them where they are at in their careers because as a sophomore Doughty wasn't even good enough to be the starter at WKU and as a junior he threw less TDs and more INTs than Flowers did this year as a sophomore and that was while WKU was still playing in the Sun Belt. There was no way at that time you could have known whether he would have been a star or a dud. Just like at this point in Flowers career it's impossible to know which way he will go. Flowers could easily turn out to be the next Julmiste and be replaced as the starter or he could develop his arm and be great. It's impossible to know either way.

And.....I'll wager QF's arm will never become NFL quality arm.  Not saying he won't become a successful QB and I'm rooting for him but reality sucks sometimes.

Because we were playing in a bush league bowl and they just picked up 3 cameras at best buy on the way to the game... It was nearly impossible to see from this angle.

That being said if he didn't score, he should have... you love to get those kind of breaks but really the better team on the field today won.

Bad/wrong call from every camera angle I saw.   Can't get all the calls but the 3 or so that went against us probably cost us the game.  That said....I think the better overall team won today.

Brandon Doughty is also a 6th year senior vs Flowers who is a true Sophomore. Doughty pretty much didn't even play until he was a redshirt Junior which was his 4th year in the WKU system. It's hard to compare them at this point in their careers.

Easy to compare them because unfortunately we play games in the "present" instead of based on yet to be determined future skill levels.

WKU receivers were so wide open, I could have thrown those TD passes.

100% agree on this point.  Like everyone else I saw trouble coming at some point when I saw those receivers wide open in the 1st quarter and only thing that saved us was poorly thrown passes.

  5. Tony Dungy.

it's quite possible the buyout was structured like Taggart's last contract where if he is fired for cause and gets another job then his salary is deducted from any remaining buyout we owe. This was the problem with Skip's contract. We had to pay him his buyout no matter what. If his was structured like Taggart's last one then we would not have had to pay him anything as his base was $500k per year and that's what LATech is paying him.

To the guy with the hypothetical about losing next year and then it being a mistake, I would say it was worth it either way. Taggart has rebuilt this program from the ground up. Anybody that doesn't see the talent level difference is blind. Not only has Taggart signed kids that had big time offers but he is bringing in transfers from places like Texas, Stanford, TCU, etc. This roster is loaded and he continues to recruit well so we are better off. That being said, I don't see us losing with the talent we have.

The man earned a raise. He didn't deserve to be one of the lowest paid coaches in this conference anymore. He certainly didn't deserve to be paid less than a first time head coach with no recruiting ties to the area that was just hired by UCF

UCF stinks, we need an OCS, fire Taggart, C'mon Harlan get it together at Athletics.  Fire Genshaft.  What sign should we make for the game?  Fire everyone at USF.  UCF is terrible and they are behind us at everything.  Fire COA and Harlan.  EX-AD DW ran athletics into the ground.

That about covers the depth of this board.

....and fire the Publix head honcho's who decided to get rid of the grill press.

  6. He can now seek it to recruits as "I turned down USCe to stay here" since this was announced before the Cocks officially announce their coach.

Hush.....The more likely scenario is CWT learned he wasn't going to be hired by the "Cocks" and he quickly agreed to a extension with USF.

  7. this. If you have an opportunity at SCAR, you wouldnt take it? Really? At least interview?

I have no problem welcoming back if he either doesnt get the job or turns it down. Havent you guys ever interviewed somewhere you knew you would turn down if they offered? Either to see what it is like or to create networking opportunities? Better to leave on your own terms than get axed. Take the job at SCAR while you have the chance. We could go 2-10 the next two years, he gets the boot, and that door, along with many others are closed for a long time, if not forever.

Then we should have fired his *ss after season 1, season 2.
