Just give them a whole game this 2 series out stuff isnt going to work...or at min a whole half.

Fortin needs more opportunities guy hasn't played in a game since 2018 and you toss him a few series vs a really good defense isnt a good picture of what he can be.

Qb is all about finding a rhythm and none can get into one.

So far best all around would be McCloud he just has horrible pocket awareness.

Johnson is easily best runner but accuracy an issue.

Fortin has nice zip on pass but he hasn't played much...money is on he is best complete qb.

Marsh just isnt ready...I'd red shirt him.

Yup. I get that CJS was left a big pile of toxic poop not even fit for fertilizing but I'm disappointed by how he has handled the QB situation. Don't think it has been fair or beneficial to any of them. At this point with no eligibility lost I say give each QB an entire game going forward and then make a decision after you try to normalize for difficulty of opponent.

I do wish Fortin got more playing time in second half.

How can a qb warm up and get into any rhythm playing a few series then sitting...none are going to really show much doing it that way I think.

At this point I'd say give each one of them a whole game. The season is an exhibition season bust so why not give them each a full game to show what they can do in a rhythm.

A fellow alumni! The kb stuff was pretty fresh last season and I am looking forward to the day when we can all be positive and agree we are on the right path with our best coach in program history. If you think it’s taxing having to hear it I can assure you that it’s every bit as taxing having to deal with this past decade of systematic failure. I want to be positive and improved and I look forward to a day when that can be reasonably accomplished.

The KB stuff was new and fresh but you don't always get such a gift of a guy with a youtube video to post as an example of humorous incompetency.

This too shall pass.  You guys crack me up.  All you said all offseason was how we had no talent and it would be a lost season.  Now all you do is gripe and lament each game like we were conference favorites.  Sit back, enjoy watching the Bulls play during these crazy times, pick out the bright/hopeful spots, and relax.   Or just take the season off and come back next year when I expect we will start to see some more positives

This season for me is just a chance to watch and see how terrible at everything CCS was while he was here.

I'm a firm believer in good coaches/managers tailor a plan for the strengths of their team, but it's obvious the size and talent of this team makes that a moot point.

I picked Cinci 42-7, so I'm pleased with the outcome.

And having lost very little in terms of yds is managing to do worse, that’s not called improvement any more than kbs doing worse was an improvement. Better coaches get better results with the same players . Period. Full stop.

You remind me of Gallagher. Decades later still smashing melons, same old act that might have been amusing once, but wears thin and wondering if there is an audience for it. I guess there still is here since we respond to you. However, that audience is shrinking so I'm gonna advise you to get new material or you will find your audience dwindling even more and you'll be relegated to a lower vaudeville circuit.

A starting QB at D1 should be able to improvise and bail his butt out if the Oline breaks down. QF, BJ and Grothe were all good but not going to start for say, Clemson-Alabama-etc. But..they all demonstrated the ability to make something happen. They all were pretty intense in their play and were very competitive. I have not seen that in McCloud(not slamming the kid) I just haven't seen him look like a hungry QB. We can all recall seeing any one of the above 3 running for their lives if they had to. Getting that 1st down or had fought td. Weve all seen them pissed on the sidelines. I watch Mc lean away from hits and most of the time looks hurried and flustered. Again, not slamming him but, something just aint there...

They were all dominant athletes at the level USF was playing at. McCloud sadly is not.

You know you have an extreme bias when you refer to Leavitt's coaching at USF as 'fair'

If he were great, he'd be a head coach again. In big money sports those who are great can be forgiven anything, even murder if you bring championships.

I stand by his coaching as fair. Great highs leveled by great lows.

It’s because we let the coaches and their coordinators pick our direction we need to pick a direction and then hire for it every time even if the coach leaves after a year or stays for five. We have created the culture and excuse of implementing new systems on average every other year and we need to pick a course and stick to it no matter who leaves or is available. We have been a ship without a rudder for over a decade and it needs to stop and we need to create our own continuity.

Ya, even if CCS had implemented a winning system it did not appeal to the fans. He should have been told that early on.

I agree it looked like a good deal and hire, but nobody thought Strong would go into semi-retirement as soon as he got here.

First press conference raised the red flag but it was too late then. If he'd said that in the interview then hiring him was a fireable offense. It's clear he thought the team itself could win the AAC without him doing too much work and take him back to the P5 with his conference championship. He messed it up, he got paid, and we pay for it.

Absolutely. Mark Harlan was a pretty face out on a date with us, shook our hand with one hand while texting his next date with the other. CCS was a gigantic failure of a hire. I will admit I was initially supportive of that hire, but also then one of the quickest to call myself wrong in CCS' first year.

Same. Looked good on paper especially with UT subsidizing the salary.

Wow, to think it may have been our worst hire.

Yeah, I understand the logic in not firing Strong after the 2018 season - Trip has been pretty loud on that front. All we can hope for at this point is that (queue the standard new coach rhetoric we have been accustomed to the last 10 years) CJS can recruit well, get his guys into his system and that he can coach them up to compete against what is a pretty formidable schedule the next 5 years.

At least when he recruits he can tell them "There's a really great chance you start as a freshman."

The gap between the schools is the exact same distance as there is between their AD and ours.

Frost was a home run and better hire.

The, unlike Strong, Mott the Hoople recognized a winning team with a winning system and didn't dismantle it for purely ideological reasons. Great management adjusts to the strengths of the workers rather than making them try to fit a system they aren't suited for.
