I wish I beleived it. I know the game has changed and Bigs are not as important but I feel the lack of a Big to defend a strong  Big is gonna hurt us as some point.

If we shoot 50%+ from 3, put up 30+ 3-pointers a game and play strong aggressive and swarming defense, we can outwork a big man.

This "Bracketology Expert" from CBS has us as a 13th seed in the midwest bracket. I must humble myself and accept the prediction from a person with so much knowledge 😁

A 13 seed would be the automatic qualifier for winning the AAC tournament. We don’t get that seed unless we win that championship game. If we keep winning, you may see us move to a 12 seed or conservative analysts may keep us as a 13 seed to see whether we win or lose the championship game (assuming we make it there). If we lose but make an impressive showing the rest of the season and lose that game by less than 5 pts in a hard fought battle, you may see 12 seed picks show up the next day. A lot of factors and opinions from a lot of “Bracketology Experts” still in play here.

Disclosure: I do not declare myself a “Bracketology Expert”.

A lot more casuals at the game today and it wasn’t really close until the last few minutes. Charlotte was very loud as the game was tight all the way through. My Apple Watch kept bugging me about the decibel level.

Today’s atmosphere was still amazing. Let’s do it again next Sunday.

Haha thanks for explaining that since I wasn’t there to experience it. You’re definitely correct about there being more casuals, it makes logical sense that these fans today haven’t shown up prior to today. That’s okay though. What I’d love to see is at least 20% retention for next home game from the excess that showed up today. That’s pretty awesome that the decibel level was so high and the watch was warning you lol

My question to you guys. If and when we face them in the conference tournament, who goes into the game with more confidence?

I actually go into a rematch on a neutral court in Texas with LESS confidence. I think FAU comes back much stronger against us and we don’t have that early 25 point lead to play around with. I’m worried about a potential rematch. At this point, our path to the tournament goes through winning the conference tournament, which likely means a rematch with FAU. I’m not increasingly confident we can beat them a second time. Let’s see how the rest of the season plays out for us. If we can bring it together and play two full halves in the remaining games and prove to be solid heading into the postseason, my confidence will grow. Great new kind of learning experience today for this team. A lot of be proud of and a lot to look forward to.

  5. I had no confidence in betting anything but a few bucks today on this one. I wanted to be a part of the action regardless.

I took USF and the over for a tiny bet but did hedge with USF covering the spread, hitting the over, but losing a close one. Overall, took in a little lunch money.

So you were suggesting to do absolutely nothing at the point they had already met their sellout? What’s the point of suggesting to do what’s already done and over?

Well since no one from usf ticket sales was looking to me for suggestions. I said if they were smart, that’s what they would have done, sold to capacity + 1 for the hype/ headlines of a record attendance. At whatever time I posted that this morning probably minutes before tipoff, I certainly wasn’t making policy changes to ticket sales from my bedroom lol. It was obviously a retroactive discussion of whether they did or did not perform that action to ensure a new record was achieved today, even if by just 1 ticket sale.

It’s not it’s a couple of hundred less than that which isn’t a whole lot of every other person that walks into the stadium. The argument was after usf ran out of tickets to sell that they should now sell more having sold out.

My argument was everyone has more than enough warning that we were going to sell out and you shouldn’t reward them with now yet another release of tickets. USF didn’t release any more tickets at that point, I know because I was monitoring the market as were others. We got what we deserved and we will be more likely to buy tickets next time, which would not be the case if you just let people know that our tickets aren’t that special and always available to walk ups no matter how special the game.

Did you even read what you were arguing for or against even in a glancing manner?

I knew you never understood what I was saying. Because that was never my argument but you were arguing back with me. USF did exactly what I was suggesting. Selling enough to ensure a record crowd was achieved and not just a tie if 100% capacity meant it would be a tie to the previous record. Sell capacity + 1 ticket. They sold capacity + hundreds more. No one ever said open up tickets to sell more to those who didn’t buy them early. You were disagreeing with no one but a made up thought in your head.

  8. Looks like we handled this “No overrated chant” 18 years ago in 2006 in this thread. It was probably settled at that time and was agreed upon to never happen again. However, the problem is the freshman students at the game weren’t born yet when it was agreed upon here in this thread. Solid thread bump. It’ll get us through another 18 years, hopefully.

We have a tough game vs SMU at home on 2/25 and if we can get past them, the next biggest game of the season is on the road at Charlotte on 3/2. If winning continues for both teams until that matchup, a Bulls' loss there would tie us at the top of the conference. 3/2 may very well be the regular season championship game because both Charlotte and USF have "easier/ winnable" games after that matchup to close out the regular season.

Hoping for Memphis to have a pulse in their home game vs Charlotte on 2/21 to give us a cushion over Charlotte heading into our matchup on 3/2.

Oh and one final note on the weirdness of the argument (and I’m not the weird side) why in the absolute **** would anyone want to replace Florida with FAU in any record book for anything?

Because one occurred 23 years ago and doesn’t matter anymore and the other one is today, displaying one category of progress within the program. I know, that’s why I’m the weird side, again.

  12. Idk what @puc86 is talking about, so dramatic. Destroying brand value in one game, velvet ropes, huh? The difference in selling an additional number of tickets over capacity to achieve a new attendance record is in no way possible “brand value destroying”. The sale of these tickets I’m mentioning could have already occurred days ago as demand has been high and people have been turned away since this game sold days ago. I never said to add ticket availability on game day to devalue anything. They should have made available the number of tickets sold INITIALLY to surpass the previous record by ONE ticket to make a statement achievement to go along with the other achievements of this team and this coach this season. Syracuse has done this before to achieve new attendance records at the previously named Carrier Dome and I’m sure many other programs have as well. It’s not controversial at all. Weird responses @puc86
