This thread aged well. You do realize who we are playing right? As well as the massive amount of depth we have...

You could say a lot either way as far as the defense went in this game. However, coming up with two big INTs when they were needed and playing all the way to the end of the fourth quarter.... I'll freaking take it over anything we've seen since leaving.

I personally stopped following that Nathan character. A bit of a clown if you ask me.

Yeah. Dude's in total meltdown mode.

Must be nice to run a Vox account that he can use to retweet his personal account.

Pretty lame that the dude who had fricken Rocky D. Bull at his birthday party a few weeks ago changed his profile pic to him in a bucs jersey.

I nominate this guy from the daily stampede. He’s mentioned on Twitter a couple times now Michael Kelly should leave USF for his own sake.

like Jesus just stop following the school, don’t actively root for its destruction.

    Lol.

TDS are high on USF when we're up, and low on USF when we're down.    They really are moody.  You'd think that they would be better cheerleaders.

I've generally liked these guys in the past, just because they were providing coverage, but this is going a little too far.

There is not a single USF related topic where the Daily Stampede has not been on the wrong side of UsF history, not one.

The exception that proves the rule: they were among the first on the fire Charlie Strong wagon.

I can’t imagine being the President of a university and having to deal with our friend Covid. Speaking for myself, Covid made work a little more difficult and it hasn’t stopped. Read his statement below on leaving. There is probably more to it, but I’d say his role was extremely stressful. Throw on the fact that people lived differently and now are viewing life a little differently, I think I can understand his statement. What am I missing?

“The intensity of the past two years has put a strain on my health and my family. Therefore, after thoughtful reflection, I have decided to retire from the USF presidency to ensure that I preserve my health, as well as to spend more time with my wife, Cheyenne, and my 91-year-old father.”

All I read is "I was hoping for an easy job, and this isn't it, so I'm gonna take that $ and quit."

Being a president of anything WILL have stress factors beyond what many are ready for.  If you can't handle it, you should know up front, so GTFO.

Is it possible for three or four other conferences to find enough profitable members to get to 16 that won't lower individual payouts?  I don't think so and therefore, without a governing body it does not have to happen.  Am I wrong?

I don't know. Landscape is changing.  What do I know about it?

The bigger point is:  Will the bigxii be pulling in that same $ without Texas and Oklahoma?

It's kind of fun reading the comments on many of the online stories about the Big 12's unofficial four-team expansion choices. A few commenters think it's great that the Big 12 will live to fight another day, but most are laughing at the new Little 12, Irrelevant 12, etc. I'm not saying it isn't the right (or maybe only) move, but if perception is reality (and it most often is) then the Big 12 can go ahead and drop the "P5" designation and join us lowly peasants. Congrats on your (ahem) promotion UH, Cinci, and UCF. 😂

I agree.  For years, everyone said that the Big 12 isn't anything without Texas or Oklahoma.  And to be honest, for the past decade Texas hasn't been much more than a blue chip name.  Kind of like Notre Dame: usually overrated.  At least Notre Dame's actually been to the CFP.

What's going to happen to that big 12 money when those two are gone?

With the SEC being at 16, I find it hard to believe that the rest of the money conferences won't try to go to the same.  It sucks that UCF got an alleged invite ahead of us, but I think this story is far from over.

he is working on getting us in acc

Hope so.  They did claim a lot that he had connections there.

The only thing he should be saying right now is something like "working on it."

Same thing he did with the old volleyball coach, right?  When asked point blank he said "I'll get back to you on that." End of that season, we got a new volleyball coach.

I have to believe he's constantly working towards what is best for USF.

We need more input and assistance from the rest of Tampa.

But since this is the internet, we're doomed.
