  1. We have been down right awful on Kick Offs and Kick Off Returns.

The offense is good enough to be a decent team, but the defense is bad, and the special teams are down right atrocious.

The aggregate Sagarin Ranking still has USF ahead of Temple, Pitt, and UConn. Cuse isn't that far ahead of us.

    25 Rutgers.

    42 Cincinnati

    45 Louisville

    63 Syracuse

    67 South Florida

    70 Temple

    80 Pittsburgh

    97 Connecticut

    61 Miami-Florida

The Cuse, Pitt, and Miami games are winnable and we should beat UConn. We could potentially still win 1-4 more games. We should be able to blindly stumble into 2 wins. 4 more would be a miracle at this point. I thinks it's as likely we win 4 more as it is that we lose the last 5.

The only game we're really out of is the Cincy game, but who knows, after they lost to Toledo anything is possible.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while, right?

  2. It was never likely USF was going to go into the swamp and win, regardless of who was coaching. Not impossible obviously, but anyone who thought the team was going to win because of some spontaneous, off-the-cuff comment Holtz made a day after being hired needs to get a clue. What else could he say in that situation?

There are plenty of reasons to hate what Holtz has done at USF. Neither that comment nor losing to the Gators is among them.

Contrar mon frar... if I remember correctly Holtz and co. made some bone headed decisions during the UF game that cost us a win in the swamp... we were running over the Gators up until half, were tied or ahead (can't remember), and then we abandoned the run and went with the pass after 1 fumble by our freshman RB (who should not have been in the game). After the fumble we started passing more and the Gayturds defensive backfield easily took advantage of wild throws by BJD.

Now I was belligerently drunk for that game so my memory might be clouded, but I'm sure my above statement is pretty close to what occurred.

You're right! The first couple of drives we ran the ball downhill right at them, with some pretty good results, but then abandoned it for no reason at all. Similar to what has happened in every game this year, actually only some games. We come out opening drive, establish the run and then give up on it. I guess Fitch wants to throw the ball all over the field, but I think he needs to use the run game a little more to open up the passing game!

  3. I’m more concerned that Louisville will pass for a ton of yards on us. We have failed to get consistent pressure on teams this year and if the D-line can’t get pressure on Teddy Bridgewater he will pick our secondary apart!

I like the idea of some fresh faces seeing some playing time, it's obvious that the current depth chart is not getting the expected and needed results.

We haven't played well defensively against duel threat QBs, and Bridgewater is one of the best. Our d-line and linebackers will have their hands full with stopping he run, including Bridgewater. My concern is that if our linebackers focus too much on the run, they will pass across the middle all day on us, which is already a weak spot. I have no expectations of a win in Papa Johns Stadium, I will be satisfied with some progress from the bye week.

BullsFan 98 thinks he's a DT QB. However, I think he's running ability is under estimated, but I would not consider him a DT QB like BJ and Grothe are and were. He had some decent rushing yards last year, but thier oline was having lots of issues, so I think some more designed runs were called for that reason.

Looks like I was wrong, he only had 66 yards rushing on 89 attempts last year.

  6. I know that our dumba$$ AD just gave our pathetic excuse for a coach an extension and a raise following a piss poor 5 and 7 season. By why in the hell is a head coach’s contract guaranteed money? First off, I'm not too sure about coaches contracts, this may be common practice around D1 football, but how is it possible that a STATE university which bottom line is funding by the tax payers, giving out guaranteed money contracts? There is no clause in there for on the field performance?? If not, Judy and Doug should have the heat put on them by the big money donors that contribute more than my fees for the past 8 years of season tickets, which by the way aren’t getting renewed next year.

We are rewarding a guy for not doing his job, WINNING FOOTBALL GAMES!!!! Yeah, he’s a nice guy from all accounts, we have a higher team GPA, less “off-field†issues than under Leavitt and a higher APR! In the grand scheme of things all that doesn’t mean crap, if we aren’t winning football games, which is what he’s paid to do BOTTOM LINE.

On a side note, on another thread there were multiple people calling for Grothe to be the new head coach!?!?!?!? You guys must be SMOKING THE FINEST HERB IN THE WORLD. He hasn’t even cut his teeth as a high school head coach, but you want him to be the head coach of a BCS program. Put the joint down and back away from the computer!

  7. The season ticket holders in my section should be ashamed of themselves. I have tickets in a "bulls club" donation section and I was surrounded by FSU fans! I paid quite a bit of money for my tickets, so i know that most of the FSU people that were in my section would not have thrown down that much cash for 1 game, people sold their seats to the highest bidder. I know tix were fetching premium prices, but we got outnumbered, at least from my vantage point, in our OWN HOUSE! If you're a true fan, it shouldn't matter if we were 0 and 4 or 4 and 0 or 2 and 2 going into that game, get your ass in your seats and cheer for your team! My seats are on the aisle and the few USF fans that were in my section and adjacent section started heading for the parking lot with 5 minutes left in the game, which is unacceptable IMO, saying things like "at least it was respectable, we didn't get blown out". Hey dumbasses, YOU SHOULD NEVER, NEVER EVER BE HAPPY WITH A LOSS! That's the kind of mentality Skip "living off my last name" Holtz has and now it's rubbing off on the fan base, or at least some of them.

Our band was pathetic and got shown up by a small contingent of the Seminole band from the upper deck, our fans got out cheered in our place, our coaches got out coached and last but not least our players under preformed. I really think we could have beat them last night. Their D is good, but our offensive coordinator is terrible, our terrible defensive coordinator on occasion called some good stuff, but our players blew coverage or couldn't tackle. FSU made adjustments at the half, we didnt and it showed on the scoreboard. There were some real boneheaded plays by the "leaders" on this team hurt us. DeDe's personal foul penalty after stopping them on 3rd down, Barrinton not covering tight ends, BJ throwing a 3 yard pass on 3rd and 8 and the mind boggling 4th down throw out of bounds in the 4th quarter. Last but not least I didn't seen Giddens "punch" anyone in the mouth like he claimed was going to happen.

  8. I actually moved my season tix to the last row because I was tired of the half ass fans behind me yelling "DOWN IN FRONT" all game long.

IF YOU CAN'T SEE STAND THE F*** UP AND CHEER LIKE ALL REAL FANS DO!

The other thing that bothers the hell out of me, is all the empty seats for the team coming out of the tunnel and the opening kickoff. Do these people not realize that most other schools have PACKED HOUSES for that stuff!?!?!?

  9. For the love of all things holy, STOP! Stop, selling your tickets to FSU fans! Twice this week coworkers of mine, both FSU fans, have come in showing off tickets, one got his hands on 8 that are all going to FSU alum/fans, they both claim to have purchased them from USF season ticket holders! Throw this on top of the fact that my redneck, FSU loving neighbor and his band of merry morons all also purchased tickets from season ticket holders. I've seen some of the prices for this game on the secondary markets (stub hub and so on) and it is tempting cause premium seats = premium money, but I will be there cheering my ass off for THE BULLS till the very end!!!!! It's going to look pretty pathetic and the media will destroy us if we are outnumbered in our own HOUSE!

  10. If they are going to replace him, I hope they fire the coach at Nevada and USF hires him. I believe he has the most wins of any current active FBS coach at over 200. He is also inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. He created the Pistol Offense.

Not too sure about that one. With Woulard coming in as our QB of the future, I personally don't want to see the Pistol Offense. I know he's considered a DualThreat QB, but his Dad has said multiple times, in other threads, that he is a pass FIRST run second QB
