I think if the player didn't have any sense to call a fair catch and muffs while being slammed, it should be a fumble.. just my opinion.

He plays this team too conservative, both on offense and defense. More like he's trying to prevent the other team from winning rather than going out there and doing what it takes to win a game. We have a predictable unproductive offense, and a defense that plays with pillows. We need to go out there and jam the ball down their throats, and hit them so hard that they are afraid to catch over the middle and on screen passes.

Frustration is slowly taking over, im just gonna wait to see what happens on Saturday.

Im really hoping they finally figure everything out and everything starts to click. I expect to see a different team out there on Saturday, I just can't believe that our coaching staff is ignorant and blind. If they want to make progress this season, they have to get this team to play real football and not that crap of BJ scramble and BJ throw deep..

Actually Barrington crushed a Nevada receiver in the final minute after we took the lead. He got flagged 15 even though he led with the shoulder not the head. I remember it manly because I could not remember the last time I saw one of our guys really hit somebody. The last time the defense opened up a whole can of whupass may have been the 2009 fsu game.

Man was that a hit.. I remeber that FSU player was laying face down for a few minutes.. who made that hit? Wasnt it Lejiste?

Keep BJ in, he's not the sole issue with the offense. Give him time and protection in the pocket and I guarantee you he would have great numbers.

It's because we came off a horrible season, and it seems to be repeating itself... But with a weaker D and O. Only from what we see so far, not so impressive against UTC, pure luck at Nevada, and a mistake filled Rutgers game. I just don't see a solid team right now. Last year we played semi-decent and lost close games. We come into this season with proclamations of a strong offense with explosive receivers and fall short so far.

I haven't given up yet, just thought we would see progression in week 3. Maybe this year we are trying something different, starting not so well and finishing strong.

I want to see consistent drives ending with points.. no more three and outs. Strong and aggressive D that gives little yards.. am I asking for too much?

I'm just praying that they make adjustments. And by adjustments I mean major adjustments. Skip said that the game against Rutgers was a way to see what kind of team we have. I hope realizes that we could have walked out of there with a win, but we were very unproductive. We have the talent at most positions and they need to utilize all the strength and weaknesses.

From watching Pitt play some sloppy football and losing to FCS Youngstown State and Cincy, to beating no.13 Virginia Tech. Can USF get it together and make a turnaround season for 2012??

Honestly, we have been playing sloppy and had some big miscues, but I feel that the talent is there. If the coaching staff gets their s*** together and utilizes what they have, can we finish with a winning season record? It's obvious that our OL isn't the best, but performed ok against picking up RU's blitzes, and our defense has great players playing in soft coverage. Our OC and DC can adjust to these issues, and realize what they are doing is not working.

What do you guys think??

Don't be ridiculous. The refs called so many plays for Rutgers it isn't funny. I've never in 30 years seen a more obvious holding call ignored by the refs on one of the plays.

If you watched the game, it clearly was negated the call was that it wasn't a fumble. They specifically went to the booth to review this specific point.

Aside from that, the penalty was running into the kicker against Rutgers. Why would a penalty against Rutgers negate a USF touchdown? Makes no sense.

The TD was negated by a roughing the kicker penalty.

Can someone explain what happened, from where I was sitting, it looked like he muffed the punt and we picked it up for a td. I thought it was a live ball if they muff. Or is it down where ever we recover it?

Either way, would have liked to see a td vs a fg.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Rutgers blitzed almost every play. Theoretically doesn't that leave voids in the backfield that our players should take advantage of? Or was rutgers playing more that 11 guys on the field?

Everyone picked up and left after Rutgers ran that td in. It was really frustrating, we were yelling our heads off to watch 3rd downs be converted left and right.. I'm amazed that most of the students lasted that long.

I thought it was a good turnout for a thursday night game, and i think the students did a good job making noise for most of the game even after disappointing plays.

Nova had all day to pass.. no pressure what so ever.. no wonder he killed us through the air.

It was either, BJ run... Murray run.. or throw it to the heavens last night. Bad play calling on both sides of the field.. we practically gave them the game. And Rutgers gave us chances and we couldn't take advantage.. all around disappointing, I hope they can get their act together.. our D is too soft and is not feared..

I feel you, at work till 6.. gonna be a last minute scramble to the stadium.
