  1. Seriously, if this guy is coming to USF, that's pretty god **** awesome. I would think other major schools are on his trail though. Maybe they're afraid of his being new to football and his past. He was kicked out of sumo wrestling for possession of marijuana. He changed his story quite a few times when it came to who he was smoking with and also with respect to allegations he made of match-fixing in a sumo magazine. He sued the sumo wrestling federation to try and stay in the league, then dropped the suit with a settlement of about $80k. Later he made allegations of match-fixing and said he was forced to accept bribes to throw fights. Then he recanted, apologized, and claimed he only said those things because the magazine in question promised him that he would be back in sumo wrestling within a week if he made those allegations. Then later, he recanted again and said the match fixing allegations were true after all, and this time he claimed that his first recanting was because the sumo federation promised him to make good on his retirement payments if he recanted his original allegations. He said they renegged on their promise of the retirement payments and that's why he is reiterating the initial allegations of cheating (which I believe have been fairly evidenced to actually be true). Anyway it's a big hairy mess but it doesn't change the fact that yeah you can call this guy raw because he's a sumo wrestler and all that, but he's a 23 year old man amongst boys so to speak and he's got better instincts for hand placement and striking than probably any recruit the school could bring in from high school, and that is born out by his Webber film. Just don't expect him to have a firm grasp of the rules, hence the roundhouse kick he performed on the ball carrier at the 1:21 mark of the highlight tape that was linked earlier in the thread, lol. I'm telling you though, I effing love it. Not just from a football standpoint. I'd make signs for this dude if he were starting games, lol.
  2. Tell me South Florida just successfully recruited Wakanoho Toshinori to play defensive line. Please tell me that's true.
  3. He'll be interesting to watch with McFarland as he's got a great frame and good size. But honestly I can't consider him the same level of recruit as Sean Price. We'll just have to see how it plays out. Andre Davis and D'Vario Montgomery should be the starters down the road, with D'Vario having some major NFL potential. Tshumbi Johnson should be a nice factor type run after catch player. Chris Dunkley an excellent route runner but probably not much of a big play dude. Sean Price will be interesting to watch. I bet McFarland ends up a pretty good blocker. Obviously JoJo Kemp seems a better recruit than Willie Davis.
  4. I like Tshumbi Johnson a lot. More than Xavier Richardson at the moment. He'll be interesting to watch. Have big hopes for Andre Davis. And of course Sean Price. Chris Dunkley will probably be a fairly good player but I don't know how physical he is and I'm not sure about his run after catch. I like JoJo Kemp. D'Vario Montgomery is solid. I don't know what to expect of Terrence Mitchell.
  5. We'll see. I think Floyd may have something to say about a freshman Asiantii Woulard playing right away. But it won't be that long before Asiantii gets in there.
  6. Hmm, well I don't think you benefit from the recruiting class the moment it comes in...gotta give them some time to mature. But 2014 or 2015, for sure...should be competitive.
  7. What's with Xavier Richardson? Looks all the world to me like he should be bulking up and playing tight end.
  8. Didn't realize D'Vario had received a 4th star from one of the services. My bad.
  9. To say the least. It's just really interesting to me that by 2013 the Bulls could have on their hands: 4-Star QB Asiantii Woulard 5-Star WR Chris Dunkley 4-Star WR Terrence Mitchell 4-Star WR D'Vario Montgomery 4-Star WR Andre Davis 4-Star TE Sean Price 4-Star RB JoJo Kemp That just seems like it would be pretty unprecedented in South Florida football history (short as it is). I realize that's not even getting into the whole defensive side of things with Aaron Lynch, Giddins, VH3 (if he comes), etc. But I specifically am fascinated with the clustering of offensive talent.
  10. I hadn't even thought it a question at this point that VH3 would play corner. Though evidently he did play some WR at Super Bull and schooled some people at that spot too.
  11. Stupid question but what's the deal with Sean Price and D'Vario Montgomery for 2012? Are they going to be on the roster?

  13. The more excitement that builds around the Bulls' recruiting classes, the more chance VH3 makes the choice to just go ahead and follow his heart here to USF. It always seemed to me that these recruiting classes snowball like that, you hit some kind of critical mass and suddenly you're getting guys you didn't think you'd get.
  14. That's a tailback right there. Tiny, yet muscled up to all heck.
  15. Yeah I could see that on the tape, for sure. His acceleration is great and he's built nice and stocky, gets behind his pads. I bet he hits pretty **** hard. And when you get him a free lane on the blitz, woof. Probably better off as a tailback but either way, that's a good pickup for the Bulls. Certainly not a 4 star type because of size and what they're LISTING as his speed (still not sure I believe it)...but a good recruit nonetheless.
  16. This is all just a matter of opinion, but I agree with you. I'd be more tempted to make him an OL than a DL.
  17. Nebraska, Pittsburgh and Mississippi State all offered...that's a pretty good list for a tailback. Would love to see him choose South Florida.
  18. Big, tough, physical, good trigger...but slow. I doubt he's going to be very good in pass coverage, nor blitzing.
  19. I have a hard time believing JoJo Kemp only has 4.67 speed, based on what I've seen. When I see teams like Nebraska, Pittsburgh and Miami on the list of schools interested in him...that's telling. Those teams know what they're doing at the tailback position. But I guess they haven't really offered. Only USF and Marshall have offered, is that right?
  20. Pretty much what Dilfer and the analysts at ESPN said in selecting AW for the opening. I think they were scared to leave him off the list because of the huge upside.Imagine that he has only been playing QB for a full year, still yet. Can't wait to see how he progresses as he spends more time with experienced teachers and matches up against high level talent.Ima gonna have to make some trips to Winter park this fall. Love this guy. I watched the videos. I think they hit on a lot of things that I saw. Raw by CIRCUMSTANCE (only played the position one year), but watch him throw the football and that's not any kind of raw throwing. When Dilfer says he's got a nice stroke, that's what I'm getting at when I talk about his natural and fluid arm slot, hip snap and weight transfer. Even the foot spacing is good. He just needs to work on tempo, and I'm guessing he's got to work on reading the field. They didn't even get into him as an athlete or a runner and I like that because it's not what draws me to him. Here's what I also saw...and that's George Whitfield going pretty hard to bat for Asiantii Woulard. I have immense respect for George as a quarterback guy. I don't know anyone better.
  21. I suppose I don't strictly speaking track the recruiting game that much, so I wouldn't know for sure, but I do track the NFL Draft assiduously and I seem to see a fair number of former JUCO transfers coming out of the big schools.
  22. Maybe he's trying to finagle tickets to the Heat game tonight, heh.
  23. Having seen the video from last weekend I say yes. Kid has a cannon for an arm. If no one else wants to step up and pull the trigger then I want someone that wants to be here. If i had to guess, I would bet Benkert pulls the trigger this weekend and then we are done at QB. Must say, I like the look of of Fleeton, though. Might be a bigger downside risk , but I think the upside potential is a lot greater. I say go Big or go home. Benkert is a little more like the Floyd/Eveld model, and we know how that's been going. I have to agree. I see no reason to go after popgun Benkert when you could go after a guy with legit throwing ability like Fleeton. I think Asiantii Woulard makes them both mostly irrelevant anyway, but even so.
  24. I didn't even think about the fact LeMarlin Wiggins could take off for greener pastures after his JUCO year. On the bright side he already turned down Florida, Florida State, LSU and Texas Tech to commit to South Florida. He must like it in Tampa. On the not so bright side his JUCO year will be in Mississippi and he may get used to being away from Florida and see it as not that big a deal anymore, and if he plays JUCO ball he could increase his status (which was already kind of underrated) and suddenly he could have more schools fawning after him.
