  1. ... the season for conference realignment, fa la la la la, la la, la la
  2. It appears to be a regularly-scheduled quarterly session. The agenda is pretty bare, so who knows what will be discussed.
  3. FWIW I’d be OK with this so long as USF isn’t signing a GOR that would prevent it from joining the ACC
  4. Interesting. Presumably both the B1G and Big 12 aka BigMid also knew this, but decided to pass. Would love to understand how this could translate to enough extra money that FSU et al. remain in place, but alas, I'm not willing to dig that much.
  5. By your logic, can the MWC offer WSU and OSU the same amount of money as the AAC?
  6. Honest question, I thought the WAC got out of the college football business?
  7. Agreed. You want stable? Look at the MAC. Ne'er a peep from those guys ever about anything.
  8. ACC was only ever going to consider us if FSU+ leaves the conference. I don't see their potential addition of Stanford and Cal as necessarily harming USF's potential inclusion in the near or long-term. Our key trigger is FSU+ leaving, which is still very much in play. All that said, it could be that these "exploratory" talks are being done more out of courtesy (given Stanford and Cal's academic reputations and the importance of academics to certain ACC schools) than out of serious consideration. Not sure this really makes sense for the ACC at the end of the day. But this way, the ACC's presidents can say, "hey, we considered it, but it's just not going to work." I'd still be shocked if the ACC adds Stanford and Cal. Does look grim for OSU and WSU though. Unlikely AAC would cast that far west without Stanford and Cal being a part of the deal.
  9. Interesting how he doesn’t mention any other options (like the AAC). I guess because he doesn’t like them.
  10. Yeah, I don't think this would be all that bad, if they joined the American. Would allow us to remain in the hopper for the ACC (along with Stanford and Cal) without having to join a GOR or paying an exit fee. And the American would clearly be the fifth best conference.
  11. I responded NC and Virginia, not Virginia and WVU. In any case, they (NC and Virginia) are both better flagship academic schools in new states with better media markets. Arguably better athletics in both football and basketball. Just my opinion, but I think those would be better fits in the SEC than Okie State and WVU.
  12. Great pics/vids. Can't wait until Game 1!
  13. I'd be shocked if the PAC-4 merged with either the ACC or the AAC in 2024. They simply don't need to. Seems like they'd be better off picking off four top AAC schools for 2024 (they won't be able to pick off ACC schools, even with that conference's uncertainty), then four top MWC schools in 2025. But this would take vision and dedication, which the remaining PAC schools have shown is in short supply in their offices. So maybe not. All that said, it may be a blessing in disguise if USF didn't form any part of the PAC's plans. The presumption is that such a new conference would retain its autonomous status and generate at least as much revenue as these AAC/MWC schools get now - that's the only way joining makes any sense (especially given the exit fees). I'm not so sure it will. And if a GOR were required, we would give up any shot at joining a post-FSU reconfigured ACC - a much better fit geographically and competition-wise.
