are the other 5 teams going to just lay down. I have watched Memphis, Navy, and SMU play today. we will not beat them and doubtful if we beat ucf. Take off the green and gold goggles. SMU has held Houston to 14 points tonight
Lol, there's no way we go winless. At best, we go 3-1 and at worst 1-3. Chances are we finish up the season at 8-4.

It was creepy/weird (this coming from a South American household where cheek kissing on the reg is normal).

I think it has a lot to do with Les Miles being fired and Strong on deck. The players know their coach is full of crap (preaching loyalty, love, etc..) and has one foot out of the door.

Are we really far from out?
Yes, we need to win out and hope Temple loses another game. Chances are we don't win out, so I doubt Temple drops 2 more games with their schedule.

I still think he will be a much better passer than QF. Teams realize now QF is a running back dressed up as a qb. He's an amazing athlete, but teams do not respect his passing ability. If you stack the box against him and jam the receivers to stop the screen...you'll be successful against QF. He needs to work on using the middle of the field better.
It's not like Flowers has set the bar that high.

No way this D stops Navy. No way.
Yea, it's going to get ugly. Our D is too small, can't tackle and don't know how to cover WR's. We've played average to below average teams all season (minus FSU). I'll go down to 8 wins from my previous 9 win guess from the beginning of the year.

Uh, we're just responding to what we're watching. Want us to be encouraged?

If they get a 1st down on 2nd and 22 I'm going to lose it.

Defense looks much more athletic than their offense but just out of position so far. I think we'll make some defensive plays as the game goes on.
Better do it soon or they're gonna score.

All of this talk about our chances going to the Cotton bowl...We still have to get through tough teams (Temple, Navy, UCF and Memphis), then play a really good Houston or Navy team again. The chances of going undefeated from here on out is less than 50% imo.

But if we were to win out and finish the season ranked you don't see us playing in a top tier bowl?
Not if Boise is undefeated.

'Where the heck were the fans tonite? The stadium looked empty on TV. Why is there no interest in USF football in Tampa Bay? Tonite looked so bad this issue will effect recruiting. How can a FBS program survive with this type of attendance? Where are the graduates of the last twenty yrs? It seems the USF marketing department needs to spend some long hrs at the ofc to get more butts in seats.
Bad weather, rain?

So WDAE cancels the only radio show in Tampa that at least acknowledges USF athletics and replaced it with Mike and Mike. I know USF doesn't get as much local attention as it should but at least I could count on CWT doing interviews every Tuesday after a game as well as players and other columnist talking about USF. Why replace a local show with something as crappy as Mike and Mike who are just going to talk about the Patriots, Lebron, and Tebow 24/7. I hope their rating tank!
Because Mike and Mike is a huge brand that will generate a lot more ratings than Rick and Tom. My fiancee likes Mike and Mike, so does my Mom. It's an easy decision.

Here are my usual IF statements again with regard to yesterday's game. IF we scored in the 1st quarted when we were in the redzone instead of making stupid penalties and IF Mack does not fumble and IF we get that score at the end of the game that everyone is so upset about...on paper this score reads more like 62-22 Bulls. As others have said, we haven't played a complete game and we made silly errors that we may not make in a game when we are "on". That game looked and felt much closer than it ever had to be..with those scores that really were likely to happen in a game that we aren't hurting ourselves with silly turnovers and penalties, we win yesterday's game by 40 and we feel much differently about it. If we score 62, I doubt ECU has the type of momentum they had at times that allowed them to score 22. Therefore the differential is possibly larger than 40 points. We dominated yesterday and you guys didn't even know it!
It can always go both ways though: If there wasn't a targeting call on Adams and they get that INT, we don't get 7 there. If the refs call a PI (which a lot of people thought there should've been) towards the end of the game that Harris brought back, we don't score 7 there either. That means we only win the game by 2.

Why did you feel the need to post this a third time?
Because they should cancel this game already. Entire east coast will be flooded. Who can even make it to the game when roads may not be clear, and there may be no electricity, and there may still be gasoline shortages?

They need to just postpone the game and make it up on their bye week. Screw giving their game priority over ours or anyone else's.
I'd rather have our game at 8:00 pm though.

I don't know what the challenges is but they just don't set the edge and they allow runners is to get outside consistently. Compounding the problem is that they are poor tacklers in the secondary.
Not sure if that's just poor player execution or poor coaching.
When they play teams that have less talent they tend to do better but when they play teams that have equal or better talent they will struggle unless they fix this.
I believe they have the athletes on defense they just need to execute better.
This defense has problems with teams that have strong running games. coaching need to be flexible enough to change and put more men in the box when that happens. Their athletes in the defense backfield can hold her own with most teams in the passing game.
Couldn't agree with your take more. That's why we drop a game to Navy again this year. They are going to run all over D.

Another hypothetical... Charlie Strong gets canned...possible d coordinator. I'm not super happy about our defense, but willing to give some leeway since it's his first go around. Thoughts?
Of course this sounds great, but in what world would Strong be a DC at USF? Maybe I misread your post. He'd only consider being a DC at a top school.
