I'm not really concerned with his involvement in Typogate 2016 -- I hold no ill will against him for it. If anything, it is one of the closer things he's done to actual journalism.
I just think he's not good at his job. He's essentially an aggregator from other media outlets 99% of the time and adds almost zero additional information in doing so. When he's not aggregating, he's predictable and boring.
I'm sure that he (or anyone in that position) is drastically underpaid by the Times in comparison to the work that is expected of him, so I fault the Times just as much.

Hey All,
I use to frequent Hyde Park in my college days, unfortunately I won't be able to make the game down in FL.
This Tigers team has been in rebounding mode since the 2014 FCS national championship game against North Dakota state. After that year we lost our QB, entire OL line and nfl rb Terrance west. Needless to say last years team underperformed without a true QB and inexperienced OL.
We have been in wait and see mode with the QB situation this yr but have hopes of a progressed OL and defense.
We lost to East Carolina 28-20 last yr and beat UCONN in 2013 while keeping it close with LSU in 2012. Looking forward to this game.
Always nice to see opposing fans on here. Welcome and thanks for the intro to the team.

Stop buying the paper and visiting the site. If you are going to visit the site, make sure you use extensions such as Adblock Plus and/or Privacy Badger to set their page not to display ads. Both extensions allow you to whitelist certain websites so that you can still support ones you do care about like TBP.

There is no point talking to them. They are pompous and arrogant and they are able to say and do pretty much whatever they want without impunity. True journalism is dead. The new-age TMZ style of "journalism" is the way of the world from this point forth.
Knight knew what he was doing and his intentions were clear. Fennelly is a clown. Tampa sports media is a joke.
Modern "journalism" operates on attention at all costs regardless of ethics, merit or factuality. The best way to deal with them is to forget they exist. Block them on social media, block their websites, and stop purchasing their paper -- they'll be gone in a year.
They literally feed on evoking your emotions.

He's just not good at his job. They might as well replace him with the AP or Reuters newswire.

Actually I checked and the Money Magazine article specifically references "Tampa".

Yeah, I checked as well. It looks like you were right on that one -- def a typo.

I heard that TPA even has its own Hard Rock Cafe now. Never seen one in an airport before...
All it needs now is a Publix.
Singapore is the only other airport where I've seen a Hard Rock Cafe, so I was surprised when I saw it in TPA.
Speaking of awesome airports... Singapore is hard to beat.

I like that we included how awesome TPA is. Seriously, our airport is crazy good.
Agreed. It's definitely one of the best in the nation. It's an extremely easy and comfortable airport.

THIS.
It makes no sense.... Someone isn't telling the truth.
Work and draft products aren't exempt from FOI requests. It just depends whether it was disseminated in a manner that would make it eligible. During the last expansion whatnot I filed a FOI with FSU and they sent over a ton of stuff (including work products).
Granted, they had me pay to print/produce and ship all the files, but it was definitely interesting to see what was sent.

Here's the promo video, which doesn't seem specific to Big XII hopes:
The biggest change I've seen since Harlan took over is the production value of our promotional videos. We're spending money on professionals, it seems, and it makes all the difference. Video looks good.

Thought the GOR would prevent anything like this from happening, at least until it expires in the 2030s.
I think in theory that would be correct. I'm definitely no expert but from my experience a contract means very little in the U.S. with the right combination of money, lawyers, and patience. I also haven't read the GOR contract to know if there are any liquidated damages provisions that would reduce this to merely a numbers game.
I think those trying to enforce GOR will find Judges (especially at the higher courts) that are unlikely to force someone to stay in the contract with no means of exit for such a lengthy period.
In a manner, it's sort of like how they deal with absurdly long non-compete clauses or contracts. Sure, you can make them and everyone can agree, but if someone wants out of it 5 years into a 10-year non-compete, they're getting out of that 9/10 times if they hire the right attorney. It really depends on the jurisdiction for the case.
Also, I don't imagine that it would be a quick process, so unless they got an injunction preventing the leaving party from leaving, the leaving university would be able to leave and do whatever they'd like until the suit was resolved. At that point, the damage would have been done to the original conference and most sound minds would push toward settlement.
Look at Maryland and the ACC as an example -- def not the same exact thing, but along similar lines for breach of contract.

The SEC is going to take FSU opening a path for us to join the ACC after the BIG 12 makes their moves of course.
I think this is a more likely (and desirable) path to Power 5 than Big 12.

I have a cafeteria-style Christian story. I met Newt Gingrich in the Washington National Cathedral cafeteria during the run up to the 2012 election. He was a ****, in case you're wondering.
Also, I bought a glow in the dark rosary that day.
I have never heard a "I met Newt Gingrich" story that didn't end that way.
The 'he's a ****' part... not the glow in the dark rosary part.

Does anyone genuinely believe that if we do get into the Big12 it will be outside of a Florida bundle with UCF?
I'm not saying that either of us will pitch it that way, but do you think that it will be Houston and USF or Cinci and UCF, etc?
I'm very curious on that front. I personally don't see a scenario where we're included without UCF unless WVU goes to bat for us.

I believe 100% that you meant to type empathy. However, your working definition of empathy is 100% incorrect and your reply to LOB regarding other sins was clearly full of pity and sympathy.
All I know is based on what you post, and at worst, you've completely rejected the faith and at best, you're a cafeteria-style Christian - you pick and choose what's right and what's wrong for yourself.
Then you'd be incorrect on both fronts:
Sorry, it is impossible for you to argue against my use of empathy without some in-depth insight into his mind or mine. Now, he can argue against me based on his beliefs that I don't understand his feelings, but as you have no idea about my life, experiences or how I came to believe what I believe today, you're just wrong. I read his post and thought "Man, I totally get that. I've been there." I don't see any misfortune or woe in what he said. I just completely and wholly empathize with that statement. Sounds like something I would have said at one time in my life.
I also am not a "cafeteria-style Christian", although it sounds delicious.

Just because once in a while here, we need to prove the thread still has something to do with realignment...
Based solely on merit, BSU has to have one of the stronger arguments for inclusion over the past couple decades. Right?

Christianity is by no means one religion anymore.

I would think if you REALLY understood and shared his experiences and emotions, you wouldn't have typed the first sentence.
Empathy is 100% what I meant. The first sentence comes from the lack of conveying several decades of experience in the form of a message board. Not with a lacking of understanding when it comes to his feelings. You assume quite a bit.
You seem to have some idea about my religious beliefs... what do you think they are?
Personally, I'm assuming based on your argument and location that you're most likely a member of a non-denomination or protestant offshoot of Christianity, but I know I could be very, very wrong about that.

But you clearly didn't understand and share his experiences and emotions - you made it clear that you disagree with his statement. And generally sympathy is associated more with pity than empathy. So no, I don't believe that you used the correct term.
How do you know that I don't understand and share his experiences and emotions? I've already told you that I was quite involved in a religious upbringing? Do you have some type of insight into my personal religious beliefs?
... wait... you're not a mind reader, right?
Deuteronomy expressly forbids witchcraft.

It's pretty bad when a statement of fact with no air of judgment from the poster whatsoever evokes
empathy(I believe sympathy was the word you meant to type) and pity to the crowd who preaches "tolerance."If empathy is still defined as "the feeling that you understand and share another person's experiences and emotions", then that's 100% the word that I meant.

If you're missing one running back and lose (by two touchdowns) to a team that won two games last year... well... then you're not looking great. They don't currently deserve to be ranked any higher than 11.
