His decision making isn't a WR problem at all and that's what botherd me the most.

The problem is that Golesh wants to throw downfield and we have the worst receiver room in FBS.  Atkins is the only one that gets open and that's only on short routes. Throwing when no one is open is not a recipe for success, especially against Bama.  The play calling needs to get a lot more creative.  They should be rolling him out most of the time on pass plays.  When all your choices are poor, it's gonna be tough making decisions.

  2. For as much garbage football that we have seen lately, we are due to be pleasantly surprised.  Every dog has its day.  Listening to Golesh makes me want to believe that he and his staff will surprise us, in a good way.  I'd feel better if Byrum Brown is named the starter, but we should still be able to win six games with Gerry.

Very well said. It's like the analogy of a frog in boiling water. If you drop a frog in boiling water it jumps out. If you put it in normal temp water and slowly increase it to boiling he boils.

If in 2008 we had announced we are joining a conference with FAU, North Texas, Charlotte, San Antonio etc heads would have rolled. Yet because it's happened slowly most here are just resigned to it.

Being associated with these schools is an absolute embarrassment and should never be accepted. We should go independent if we insist on pressing on with football. Play as many road one and dones as needed to stay afloat. Being connected to **** makes us **** by association.

There should be an uproar. Everyone who has been involved in the athletic program in the past 5-10 years should be fired.

I find what you are saying pretty ridiculous because this is USF we are talking about.  USF athletics has pretty much done nothing, ever!  The schools you list are just as likely to be embarrassed to be associated with us as vice versa.  If we didn't suck at everything, just about all the time, your complaints might be a little more valid.  We just need to figure out how to be better, first and foremost.

Goach at least seems to be more genuine and less BS-y in his approach to pressers. No fluff, just get to the point

He is a really good listen and I like his attitude a lot.  I just have a bad feeling about who he is going to start at QB.  It isn't good that Stokes is the starting punter, either.  He is one of the worst punters we have ever had.

These are some grown men on the team.  I remember when Herring was being just recruited out of highschool. Man that was a fast 4 years.

It was a fast four years because it only took him three years to graduate from FSU.  Plus, he still has three years of eligibility, which is crazy.

When your team was 1-11 the year before, adding 49 players is necessary. 14 of those transfers are P5, and the rest are G6, Juco, D2, and FCS transfers. Also, I'm sure Golesh didn't pick 49 random players either. A majority of these transfers participated in Spring camp and the following off-season workouts. They are quite familiar with the players from last year. Glass half full my friend....glass half full.

    28 CAG New Transfer/CC player
    23 CAG H.S recruit

I was glass 3/4's full from 1997 to 2018...now I'm 1/4 full until given reason to believe otherwise.  Byrum Brown is moat of that 1/4 right now.

Golesh added 49 players to this team. This is not the same team from last year. The same probably goes for the other teams on the list. This is another lazy writer that did no type of research for this article.

There are a lot of people that would say adding 49 new players is not a good thing.  Was it necessary? Sure, but that puts an awful lot on the coaches to get this team ready.  Our coaching staff doesn't exactly strike me as a dream team for the profession.  Our associate HC has one year of FBS coaching experience as a RB's coach.  We have to wait and see what happens, but my confidence in this group is pretty low right now.  Hopefully they have some fight in them.
