Our offense is designed around QF running the ball. AW can't do that as well it could be a problem for him.
QF runs so much because he can't throw from the pocket...AW would be a much better pocket passer, but I don't know if that will be enough to unseat QF. If we can consistently win with QF running and improvising in the pass game then there is no reason to change.

Flowers is the QB...if AW blows people away and takes the job from him then AW will truly be a stud. I also think Taggart should have an offense with AW and QF playing in the same backfield. Imagine how tough it would be to prepare for a team that has 2 passers in the same backfield all the time.

They said Santos had knee surgery...we only dressed 7 scholarship players...wins are going to be far and few between unless we get healthy fast
-
That would mean 4-5 years before the postseason (NCAA/NIT). That really shouldn't be acceptable ...
This is USF basketball we are talking about...i agree with you though. One ncaa bid in 20+ years means the standards are pretty low for what a coach has to do to keep his job in Tampa...
-
Little to no depth and limited talent this season...OA is gonna need 4-5 years to get us in the top half of the AAC
-
As much as Flowers is growing on me, I still cringe just about every time he throws it. I still don't think our offense can be consistently good with a QB who can't complete a pass from the pocket. He is doing as well as can be expected which is nice though.

How exactly did ECU give us the game? Pretty sure we won that one fair and square...lol

No difference between 5 and 6 pts there...NFL would be a different story now, but college, not too concerned

I get NBA TV, NFL Network, Fox Sports 1 & 2, Bein Sports, and quite a few other "premium" channels with FIOS, but no CBSSportsNetwork, I pay about 105 a month just for my TV plan, and it doesn't come with CBSSports Network, so excuse me while I try to get an alternative until I switch cable providers when my contract is up. And really, there is no excuse for CBS College Sports LIVE to stream our games, especially when they are televised through them; there's a principle here. So get off your high horse there buddy.
Also, no thanks to directv... waaaaayy too many storms here for that.
High horse...lol...sorry you are getting the shaft, I've had fios for the last 6 or so years and pay way less than $105 for the tv and get CBSSN. Does it make sense that they don't stream the games? Of course not but I think you'll still watch the games somehow if you truly want to.
-
Every one of our games is on national tv in HD. If you choose not to pay for cable or directv then that is your prerogative, but I don't understand complaining about no streaming if you chose not to pay for tv.

Sure, if we have no chance of bowl eligibility heading to UCF Harlan could fire Co T early but would that really matter at all? It's not like we would be throwing huge sums of cash at people that would be lining up for the job.
-
I think Willie goes if we don't win six games but I hope we get there cause I wanna see this offense next season with Woulard at QB and Mack, Flowers and Johnson at RB. Flowers as a RB who can throw, playing with Woulard could be a game changer.
-
Having our runners not healthy played a big part in the game today...we still could have won but we had a much smaller margin for error

Although six wins make us bowl eligible it may not be enough I think that we need 7 wins in order to go to a bowl. Any less than six wins will end CWT's coaching job at USF.
The AAC will have 7-8 bowl slots...if we win 6 games we are going to a bowl.

PG Peters/McMurray
SG Morillo/McMurray
SF Ziegler/Morillo
PF Perry/Santos/Nunez?
C Guerrero/Cousins
The starting 5 doesn't look too bad but after that things are not good to say the least. Our guards better not foul anyone or get hurt for that matter...lol McMurray is the only bench player we have for basically 3 positions. Up front, Cousins is pretty much just good for 5 fouls most nights and Nunez has been a consistent non contributor everywhere he has played. Santos will help but is still just a Frosh. We will also probably be forced to watch walk-ons get real mins in the backcourt which falls squarely on the coaches shoulders. Sure, anything is possible, but I just don't see how we can play the way OA wants with so few guys at the 1-3 positions. We will have to play a soft zone defense on the perimeter for fear of foul trouble all year. Hopefully we can play over our heads but I think .500 is still a tall order. -
Having only 9 scholarship players that can play and only 3 guards is not a recipe for success.

Snore
I pretty much give this an : since we have 28 pages devoted to this guy.
Exactly!...it's lunacy to pay so much attention to this kid.
-
I think it's funny how big a deal this kid seems to think he is...if he comes to USF great, but frankly, he isnt playing QB here and we are stocked at safety right now so if he goes elswhere that fine. He isnt a 4 or 5 star recruit, so why treat it like a game and act like you are such a big deal?

joshnewberg: Josh Grady tells me today he has been offered by #Temple, #Vandy, #Minnesota and #FAU all teams offered as a quarterback.

He will never see a BCS game (and probably not a conference championship) with any of those teams. At USF, he has a real chance to go to a contending team.
He would be lucky if he got to a bowl game with any of those schools, let alone contend for anything...
-
A kid like Bellamy would rather ride the pine at a place like Clemson than be a star from day one at USF...that's just reality. Our coaching staff is way better than Clamson's but that doesnt matter to alot of kids.
-
Anyone posting on here who thinks that Bridgewater would not fit into Holtz's system has either never seen Bridgewater play or has zero knowledge of football or both...I would tell him he is the starter next year while he is on his visit if he comes to USF.
-
CUSA is usually pretty decent football but this year it is just aweful from top to bottom...UCF is probably the best of the lot this year and good for them, but that conference is almost Sunbelt-like this season.
-
My only question is what does he see from UF that makes him think he can excell as a RB in their offense? Even if you are the best RB on the team you are only gonna get 10-12 carries a game. UF stockpiles 4 star RBs and they never seem to have any go to backs.

Really don't see how Peters was such a highly rated recruit. His handle is loose and he is weak with the ball...doesn't look like a PG to me.
