Up 27 at the under 4 min TO...i think we may have this one
-
Gotta think the coaching change had some influence on the voting. Seven out of nine starting position players returning and two preseason all conference starters plus Perez at the back end of the pen...top 3 at worst IMO.
-
Willie was out of sight, out of mind in Oregon. I liked it better that way.

read somewhere that sumlin was delaying things to see what happens w/ oregon
So wait...I don't think Josh Heupel was going anywhere.
-
This seems like an odd hire to me for UCF. A large step down from Sumlin.
-
I would be shocked if FSU paid that much for Willie. He has done very little overall in his career as a head coach. If a couple good years in the G5 and one .500 season in the pac12 get you that much money there is something very wrong going on.

Well, we are raising a crap ton of money for an indoor practice facility..... priorities I guess.
Exactly...an IPF is unnecessary and nothing but a luxury. An OCS is NEEDED and if the USF administration can't see that by now, they never will. Mortgage the campus, be in debt until the end of time...who cares, just make it happen!

A cheap, piece of crap OCS is better than RayJay...until the people at USF figure that out we will always be small time.

I mean do u see the teams we played this year vs last year .
And how many games do you think we win last year without Mack and Adams...it's all relative. Last years defense would have given up 70 yedterday

They did. The whole receiving Corp came to play.
MVS was not good...everyone else was great.

Agreed just pointing out the obvious that this team is worse. But you have to hold on to the football and see another down
But are they really worse? The defense is better, the offense is less explosive and scores a few less points and the special teams is bad. The biggest difference is no Mack and Adams. Was Gilbert too conservative most of the season, sure, but two incomplete teams. Just in different phases of the game.
-
After the first quarter our coaches finally realized that our LB's are not good and played with none. For all the good that Willie did, he left the pickings slim at LB.
-
He fumbled, but that is what he does. Any time he catches the ball, which isn't very often, I say to myself..."hold onto the ball." His fumble percentage per catch has to be astronomical.

you're funny. Last years team would mop the floor with these cats.
I don't know if I agree with this. Our defense was so bad last year that it might not matter.

Your post just made me think of something. What if, we actually had more plays called for running up the middle last season and Mack just had better vision than Tice and DJ do to know when to bounce it outside? I mean, it's clear that Mack was great at seeing the field.
This is spot on...Tice and DJ both have terrible vision. They often miss huge running lanes and run right into linemen. QF has vision similar to Mack, he is by far our best running option.
-
QF's inaccuracy is a big reason for the reliance on the run game imo. He misses at least a few easy throws by a lot every game. The first drive against Houston was a prime example. I don't think we will see this offense at its best until we have a pass first DT QB playing. I love QF's game but very rarely is he accurate right from the opening kickoff.
-
Gilbert's offense is not tailored for QF and he is not the ideal QB to run it. Why he couldn't run the GCO for one year with Flowers is anybody's guess. That being said, the defense lost the game today with an awful second half.

Memphis had no problems with Oliver...
I didn't see much of it, but 23 rushes for 30 yards isn't good on paper.
-
They still have given up 150+ yards rushing per game...Oliver is really good but they are not a good defense.

Jesus, you guys sound pathetic...
Yeah, they do...UCF looked very beatable today. Navy is mediocre at best and only beat Tulane by 2 pts. I was expecting them to beat Navy by 30+
-
Every team is not going to give up when they get down big. I'll give Tulane credit for that, but we just shut it down and stopped trying...that's on the coaches imo.
-
I know that upsets happen and what not, but this game screams blowout to me. I have a hard time seeing Tulane score much, if at all, against us. They have played one good offensive game against a terrible defense. We would beat FIU 50-0 and a team that lost to them by 2 td's is gonna give us problems. I'll need to see it to believe it.

Pittsburgh did not have an OCS before entering the ACC
Pitt has lots of tradition and a much bigger fan base. We have a very small fan base and little to no tradition and we aren't exactly building any kind of tradition at Rayjay either.
-
No way we get into a P5 conference without an OCS...we will never be considered a serious program until we build one.
