  1. I just distinctly remember him saying "when I walked into this job we were in a BCS conference and now we're not" and he seemed to mean it in a way like I didn't sign up for this exactly. And also when addressing the USC interview he specifically said he owed it to his family to see the opportunity, so while I do think he loves Florida his family is first which is an awesome thing! and it all comes down to his family and what their priorities really are. So I think the Florida Bay Area ties may not be as strong as we may like to think.

i definitely don't think he would leave for an Indiana, Maryland, Syracuse, but like others mentioned if a storied program that has "unlimited resources" who has on the decline last 10 20 years comes calling I think he's gone UNLESS we're in the B12 and pay him.

3 Million like Hermann I think MAY keep him here temporarily but not in the long run if we can't go to the playoffs.

and those of you guys who don't think big names team will come calling, just wait if he has a big season this year, next year will be projected to be just as good if not better as MOST our guys are soph juniors. So we will likely have back to back big seasons of this one pans out, and if that's the case, I think you could easily see teams like Georgia, Tennessee, Miami, come callin

heres hoping we get into the B12!!!

  2. If we have a successful season 1,2 losses or none (crossing fingers) a lot of schools across the country are gonna come calling for Taggart.

And he will leave. No doubt about it. As you saw evidenced last year with the USC interview. If he leaves we stand at the whim once again of a coaching change and Lord knows that could go either way.

The ONLY way I see Tags staying for the long haul ( which IMO is best case scenario) is if we get into the B12. He would then know we can play for championships here (just like when he first arrived and it was the BigEast). Kids in the area would see we're not in a second tier conference anymore, are the new hot team, under a young hot coach.

If we get into the B12, mark my words this program will BLOW up. With taggarts recruiting prowess we will be getting top25 classes year in and year out and really build a contender.

If we don't get in, the likelihood of tags leaving and the program having to take a few steps back is way more likely than not.

  3. So while many of us are expecting this year to be a way better year we may also be forgetting that the turnover from last years staff may cause a drop off in production.

Tom Allens defense tonight for Indiana had 2 pick sixes against FIU, will we be able to replicate the same defensive production under Woodie?? I don't think so but I could be wrong

Danny hope last years off coordinator is gone. We now have Hiller the o line coach and TJ weist the wr coach splitting duties of OC. I like Hiller as an O line coach, Weists resume is blah having nothing impressive, I think interim head coach at UConn was the highlight when pasqualoni was fired, so I don't even think you can all that a highlight.

All the other guys Alonzo Hampton DBs, Donte Pimpleton RBs, and a few others are holdovers from WKU....nothing really impresses me there.

Just for kicks I went and looked at Houstons staff and their respective resumes,

Half of them were coaches at TEXAS or Ohio State! That's a big difference than WKU holdovers or a Shaun King who was a team Tampa coach...no offense!

i think a real bright spot about our staff is we got great recruiters! Woodie,Taggart, now David Kelly, I think on that side the staff is strong.

I also REALLY like Joe Kinnan as our offensive consultant!! I think he has improved our offense leaps and bounds with his wrinkles, if it has been his doing!

So what do you guys think about our staff? Are we mediocre, or do we just have a lot of up and comers?

And my biggest question, Will Woodie be able to put the same product on the field that Tom Allen did?????

Definitely interested in hearing people's thoughts on the staff.

  4. Strangely....it seems like the timing of the FSU USF game could actually play a factor into "our pitch" to the B12 since the proposals and our game will play out right next to one another. If we were to upset them we would probably be considered one of the hottest teams in the country

and I don't care what you say, if we are 4-0, 5-0 whatever ranked, and favored the rest of the schedule with murmurs of a cfb playoff berth, the B12 will take notice! Here's to hoping we play lights out!
