  1. Was recently dropped from 3 star to a 2 star on Rivals. But I'm not sure why. His stats look pretty good. Think he led the State of Florida in total sacks.

All-State, OLB 6'3 228lbs ,105 tks,31 Sacks, 36 TFL. All Area Defensive player of the year. 2X Wrestling State Champ.

The University of South Florida visited Jensen Beach High School on Thursday to see outside linebacker Chris Favoroso (No. 5 Scripps Super 11).

South Florida has made an offer to Favoroso, the All-Area Defensive Co-Player of the Year, but seems torn between whether to utilize him on defense or as an H-back on offense.

Jensen Beach coach Tim Caffey said he expects to hear back from the Bulls next week.

South Florida already has verbal commitments from Jensen Beach linebacker Nico Sawtelle (No. 1 Super 11) and Sebastian River offensive tackle Marcus Norman (No. 2 Super 11).

JENSEN BEACH, Fla. - Chris Favoroso is a two-time wrestling champion, the first one in the history of one of the best high school programs in South Florida. So he's a no-brainer choice for the CBS12 Athlete of the Week.

Favoroso moved to Florida from New Jersey in the 8th grade. It was not by chance he wound up at Jensen Beach.

"We picked here for wrestling," says Favoroso. "No one works harder than us."

Coach Tom McMath has had 5 state champions at Jensen, but no one quite like Chris.

"You can't teach fight," says McMath. "From the start, I knew he had that in him."

Chris's promise for greatness has turned into results. He won a state championship as a Sophomore in the 170 weight class and repeated as a state champion last week at 195.

Also a star football player, Favoroso has his eyes set on a big senior year - and the rare wrestling feat of a three-peat.

  2. This is awful. College Football recruiting and the anti-trust of the Big 5 makes me sick. Question - If all of the schools outside of the Big 5 shut down because they money isn't there, will college football in general become less popular. Honestly, if UCF, USF, FIU, and FAU had to fold their football programs. Would you become a UF or FSU fan or would you despise college football for shunning the "less privileged"?

  3. You can't blame Skip for 2010's class as he came in late and just tried to salvage what he could. But take a look at the class of 2011.

How many of those 20 guys made an impact?

    Andre Davis

    Elkino Watson

    Darrell Willams

    Thor Jozwiak

    B. Gundmanson

    Mike Juene??

If you want to look at the class that really sunk our battleship, it's right there.

    2012 wasn't all that much better. https://rivals.yahoo.com/usf/football/recruiting/commitments/2012/70-655

But my bigger concern is that on-paper, 2015 is looking potentially lower rated than both of those classes.

  4. Dugans is recruiting Godby hard this year. We already have a commit from Danny Thomas (LB) and have offers out to Jaylin Hayward (ATH), Jim Jones (LB), and PJ Simmons (RB). And I think that Dugans is an alumni of Godby. Would love to see us pull all those guys in. Would be great to have a few guys that have played together in HS, just like when we brought in Kayvon Webster, Sterling Griffin, and Derrick Hopkins from Pace a few years back. Would make for a hell of a signing day at Godby. I might even drive up for that one.

  5. FBS teams that are probably looking for an OOC home game in 2016:

    AAC- Houston, UConn
Big 12- Kansas State, Texas Tech
    Big Ten- Rutgers
C-USAFAU, Old Dominion, Southern Miss, UTEP
    Independent- Army, BYU
MAC: Ball State, Kent State, Northern Illinois, Ohio U
Mountain West: Hawai’i (Would allow us a 13th game, too), New Mexico, Utah State
Pac-12: Arizona, USC (Both of these have one home + one neutral site…not sure if they’ll be looking for a home or road game)
SEC: Alabama (lolno), Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee
Sun Belt: Appalachian State, Texas State, Troy, UL-Lafayette, UL-Monroe

  6. I wonder if there is a push for us to play other Under Armour schools like we are playing UMD this weekend. If so, the other "Power 5" options would include Auburn, BC, Northwestern, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Texas Tech, and Utah. I'd have to think that BC  would be the most likely as they still need two more 2016 games. I was thinking Northwestern but they are really full. And with the Big 12 playing 9 conference games, it will make it tough for Texas Tech to schedule us.

    Under Armour Schools

    •               Auburn Tigers

    •               Boston College Eagles

    •               Colorado State Rams

    •               Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens

    •               Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and Rainbow Wahine

    •               Loyola Greyhounds

    •               Maryland Terrapins

    •               Montana State Bobcats

    •               Navy Midshipmen

    •               Northwestern Wildcats

    •               Notre Dame Fighting Irish

    •               St. John's Red Storm

    •               Seton Hall Pirates

    •               South Carolina Gamecocks

    •               South Dakota State Jackrabbits

    •               South Florida Bulls

    •               Southern Illinois Salukis

    •               Temple Owls

    •               Texas Tech Red Raiders

    •               Toledo Rockets

    •               Towson Tigers

    •               UMBC Retrievers

    •               Utah Utes

    •               Whittier College Poets

if UCF lost this week -- and we win again this week

    i'd still rank UCF ahead

UCF has a bye this week... but I agree. Even a USF win may not be enough for me to move USF ahead either.

Just some data for you. I'm actually shocked that UMD has out-recruited us 5 out of the last 6 years.
