Did anyone find this comment interesting:

"I feel if I go out there and get bigger and stronger it will be hard for whoever is the starter at that position. I'm going out there expecting to play right away," McCray said. "They  changed the whole offensive style to favor the run game and they’ll sign three running backs. They offered three this weekend and I was only one who committed."

I'm assuming he is talking about him and Jojo. Although I'm pretty sure Jojo already had an offer. Who is the third? Webb, Spearman???

  2. Wilder just flipped to Cincy.

The Cincinnati coaching staff continues their success in the JUCO ranks by flipping USF commit DB Howard Wilder (Pierce CC).

“Cincinnati really came out of nowhere,†Wilder said. “They contacted me after I committed to South Florida and invited me on a visit.â€

“It was my first time in Ohio. It was cool. I loved everything about the visit so I committed to the Bearcats. They’re going to the top.â€

As of now, Wilder has nothing planned for the upcoming weekend.

“I don’t have any other scheduled visits. If a new school wants to talk, I will deal with that then,†Wilder said. “Right now, I’m committed to Cincinnati.â€

Wilder committed to USF on January 15 and had taken official visits to both Houston and Tampa in December.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect with reported 4.44 forty speed has an impressive offer sheet.

“Wisconsin, Missouri, Kentucky, Rutgers, Maryland and a bunch of other schools offered me,†Wilder said. “I felt like Cincinnati and the Big East was the place for me. The coaching staff is great.â€

“I will be going to Cincinnati in May.â€

Wilder starred at Eleanor Roosevelt High School (MD) and earned the nickname "Little Derrick†because of his similarities to the former Maryland prep star that signed with Penn State in 2009 before later transferring to Marshall where he started eight games at cornerback last season.

As a high school senior, one publication rated Wilder as the No. 90 best college prospect in Maryland.

The 2012 1st team all-conference cornerback started his college career at College of the Canyons (CA) where he was a starter and made 49 stops before transferring to Pierce Community College (CA) last season where he recorded 45 tackles and had one interception.

Wilder plans to study business management while at Cincinnati and has three years to play two.

  3. Looks like USF is out of the picture on Davis per this free story:

Also, saw this from another Memphis recruit regarding RD5's visit to Memphis this weekend:

S/o to my dawg @RD5_ for making a big time choice which was a good one ! #tigernation #furureroommate

  4. Looks like he has an existing offer from NC State. Wonder if USF would take both Wilson and Travis Johnson or if it's a 1st to commit type of thing. You'd have to think that Johnson would be first in line given his national accolades and that he would be a great local pipeline addition.

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/150329/lucas-wilson (77 overall rating, 16th ranked TE in nation)

"Wilson is a prospect who displays the tools to be able to help move the chains as a tight end. He has good height with a leaner build and will need to get into a college weight program and work to add more good mass, but he does look to ... for full access to RecruitingNation become an Insider in.gif

  5. The Georgia Tech Rivals site posted "free content" that commit Jeremi Hall's GT offer has been rescinded since he made an "unannounced" trip to USF this past weekend. Hall is a teammate of USF commitment Dominique Threatt. Rivals currently lists his only schools with High interest as GT and South Florida.

  6. I think adding Fresno State and UNLV would force either Air Force's or BYU's hand. But most likely the Air Force as they would have to realize that the Mountain West was raided of all of it's top teams and they would have to then join up for football. We would then be looking at the following:

    East

    USF

    UCF

    UConn

    Cincy

    Temple

    Navy

    ECU

    Memphis

    West

    Houston

    SMU

    Boise State

    San Diego State

    Fresno State

    UNLV

    Air Force (or BYU)

    Tulane

It would clearly place this new conference as the 6th best conference and would provide some good TV markets.
