If we could just find a way to get over all the woulda, coulda, shoulda and focus on NOW. We need to commit now to becoming THE power in this new version of the AAC, invest in a good new stadium, and things will follow. So many people like to bemoan how UCF has passed us by. They did so by not whining and burying their head in the sand when we got the Big East invitation. They invested in their program, became the class of C-USA and have been rewarded. We just want to compare things to what they used to be. That’s gone. You have to plow forward and not continue to look back. Is the hiring of Alex an admission of failure? We have no idea until we see what he brings to the table. Could he be our Scott Frost or Luke Fickell? No one knows yet. Let’s give him the benefit of the doubt at this point.

Huh.  We just built an IPF, we're talking about and working on an OCS, we appeared to be prepared to throw wheelbarrows of money at the top coaching candidate out there (a current HC), and we ended up with one of the top coordinators in the country who led the best offense in the country.   How exactly do you get that our current administration (AD, Pres, BOT, etc) are content with our current standing?

What are you smoking? "Talking about and working on an OCS". You realize they have been "taking about" it for over a decade. We consistently understand our peers regarding football. UCF (as an AAC member) spent 32% more than we did this year. The IPF was a minimum requirement. Are peers have had bigger and better ones years ago.

    WTF

This has to be one off negative threads I’ve read in a long time. Sanders was an extreme long shot to come here I’m happy they didn’t get Chadwell would I be happy with someone like Alan from Indiana yes. But this guy is young and hungry & USF has a lot of talent even on the defense. They were so horribly coached you would never know it And I’m not sure Jeff Scott was tough enough. Just listening to his first statement talking about accountability gives me hope. Let’s see what happens with recruiting & who he brings  in as coaches. USF needs discipline & toughness that comes from a head coach let’s see what happens Before  you jump out the window

    They are leaving

  4. This thought process reminds me of companies that could not survive as workers increased their mobility and stopped staying at one job for their entire careers. It’s about changing from thinking “we need to come up with ways to stop coaches from leaving” to “we need to invest into the program so they don’t want to leave”.

  5. Even if they get rid of Scott. The USF parents will **** it up. “We want someone who is wholesome”. “Who we can respect”. “Someone who we are proud to teach our kids”. “Someone who is going to stick around”. “We aren’t a stepping stone”. Etc. etc. etc.

Literally every criteria except someone who knows how to win a ballgame.

Exactly. People are so quick to fire. I hate that we have had to pay coaches for years not coached because of this.

We are expected to win 4 games this season, right? Well we have 1 in the bag and 8 games left. If we meet our expectation, ok. If we beat it, great. If we don’t meet it, then we can talk.

We have 0 in the bag. A win against FCS is nothing but us paying someone to lose. That  **** doesn’t count.

Myers is going to what university backs up the biggest truck full of cash. He cares about two things winning at all cost and getting paid. The jags have a culture of losing and not doing what it takes to win. Along comes a coach that only cares about winning and not your feelings. Magically he is rubbing the players the wrong way and lost the team. So now they are going to cater to the players and have another coach come in to coddle the players and then fail miserably on the field.

This is what most fans here want. A bunch of feel good losers. I was passed we based on Kiffin when we had the chance.

UCF isn't where they are because of their ocs. It's because they hit on 2 1/2 great coaching fits ....

The OCS is just a building and isn’t responsible for the state of the program. However, it is a symptom of a bigger problem. When I, as a parent of a potential recruit, am faced with two options: 1) School A that consistently invests in athletics and the numbers back it up or 2) School B that talks a huuugggeee game “we are already there” etc. but consistently underinvests in athletics and is not only way below the national median, but at the bottom of the AAC in terms of $$$s.

Which do you think I’m picking?

Also, think about it from coaches perspective. They are the ones out there selling the program. Do you really think the other recruiting school aren’t bringing up our investment levels to the parents?
