Need a decent kicker, Delbert Alvarado's pitiful kicks verse Auburn nearly cost USF one of it's greatest victories

To be fair... Alvarado was a PUNTER... not a kicker.

However xCJL never brought a good kicker to the program so Alvarado was forced to do double duty as kicker and punter.  This was finally rectified when Bonani was brought in as a kicker, which allowed Alvarado to focus back to punting.

Blake Barnett reportedly to transfer to South Florida, play for Charlie Strong

It appears that Blake Barnett, the former Alabama quarterback who transferred to Arizona State after the star of the 2016 season, has found a new home.

Barnett is transferring to South Florida, according to 620 WDAE in Florida. Matt Zenitz of Al.com also reported the news.

    Why's that?

So much for the theory of "ucf/rival's success = our success"

    It's a little different in USF/ucf's situation

BYU/Utah is in the Pac12 footprint

USF/ucf us not.  It would be an island school far from the rest.  So having 2 schools really helps out in scheduling/budget concerns for all schools in all sports minus football.

For football, they can sell the each team gets a trip to Florida every year for recruiting angle.

Of course they are open to be.  They've always wanted to be in the "P5"

The only reason they are independent is because Utah went to the Pac10, but no "P5" wanted BYU.   They aren't independent just because they wanted to be independent.  BYU was too arrogant to have Utah move up and leave them behind.

    Too late to edit:

My reply was based on the "Open to joining P5 conference" statement and before I read the link/article.

I guess they've realized that still no "P5" wants them or will want them, and going independent is a lot harder than they anticipated

No. If you paid for an argument you don't want a contradiction.

M: An argument isn't just contradiction.

    O: Well! it CAN be!

    M: No it can't!

M: An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.

    O: No it isn't!

M: Yes it is! 'tisn't just contradiction.

O: Look, if I *argue* with you, I must take up a contrary position!

M: Yes but it isn't just saying 'no it isn't'.

    O: Yes it is!

    M: No it isn't!

    O: Yes it is!

    M: No it isn't!

    O: Yes it is!

M: No it ISN'T! Argument is an intellectual process. Contradiction is just the automatic gainsaying of anything the other person says.

    O: It is NOT!

    M: It is!

    O: Not at all!

    M: It is!

Ugh.. I'll excuse my way out in shame. (blame it on lack of coffee)

The sick irony is that it's probably TX and OU blocking the expansion attempt that was just made all the while knowing they are gonna bolt. They got theirs, screw the others.

Very similar to Buttgers/sPitt (if my memory is right) and the Old BEast when they were the ones that pushed to decline the ESPiN contract renewal as they already had a deal to change conferences.

I'm a  fan of the Canes.  Richt should have been locked up with the chain for battery on an official.  Inexcusable.

Yes he shouldn't have touched the ref.

    He should be fined/penalized NCAA/ACC-wise.

    But charged with battery??? LOL

Wanted to laugh and up-vote on the same thread - 100% agree although I don't see that happening.

As much as I will cheer against conference foes, anytime one goes against the P5, I'll root for them. And yes, as bad as it hurts, I'll root for Mickey U over the SEC.

I root for all AAC teams in bowl games, especially against "P5" teams

    ...Except the tin men
