  1. Given TV contracts I’m genuinely curious does USF add anything to a conference which has Miami already? In other words, will Miami already get to “count” all of FL for the ACC?

if this is the case, it seems like SDSU and USFs of the world might drop below UConn etc if the institutions in FL/CA already cover what those schools would bring.

maybe we need to hope for the ACC to lose its presence totally in FL, which is feasible with FSU to SEC and Miami to B1G.

It doesn’t matter because we are in the aac, of the 10 conferences that got multi bids how many of them was winning the regular season a laughable consideration point? The problem isn’t that conference regular aac champion don’t auto qualify it’s that beating a ton of aac teams meant as close to nothing as nothing can get. Why? Because aac

    Because AAC _this year_ okay

I disagree. I think UAB lost a close game against a higher seeded opponent. They got lucky in the AAC tourny.

What doesn't make sense to me is why FAU got in over us... They were clearly overrated, losing to a tired Temple team and now out in the first round of the NCAAT. The AAC should be a 2-3 bid league, but the wrong team got sent, because of some recent name recognition from last year.

    all super fair, well said

Really dumb way to look at it. Anything can happen in a single game.

Not to mention both games were very close and could've went either way. You'd have a better case if they both got blown out.

Looking at it your way the horizon league is better than the SEC because 5 horizon teams beat Oakland. So 6 Horizon teams are better than the 2nd best SEC team.

Uh, sure, if the only evidence was those games. I’m just saying the AAC was in a down year and the conference performance in tournament is a microcosm of that fact. My main point - but I can see why it got lost - was if we repeat this seasons type of performance next year we’ll be rewarded with an NCAAT birth.

Doesn't help the AAC that both tournament teams were eliminated today.

It turns out the AAC really wasn’t good at basketball this year and while we overachieved we also didn’t deserve NCAAT. The prognosticators were right to only project 1-2 teams from the AAC it turns out.

if we win 20+ games next year again we’re in, but this was a down/transitional year for the conference. It’s readily apparent unless you’re purely a USF homer.

The difference  is the Big 12 has been verry proactive with expansion: The Arizona schools, BYU, Utah, Cincy,....

It will all depend on how many schools the ACC loses.

Yeah they’ve been “proactive” because they lost 5 schools and replaced them with much lesser institutions. Yet, somehow the ACC is perceived to be on deaths door. Makes no sense.

  7. The AAC sucks this year and we’re beating up on Quad-3/4 teams almost exclusively. It’s a great year for us, relatively speaking, and we could even be tourney “deserving” for an at-large, but I don’t blame anyone who’s not a USF fan to be skeptical of our record and this streak.

FAU cannot be understated as a resume builder.

You mean the one example that this thread is about, that you came in staunchly defending as some sort of journalistic coup, that example?

And I've never understood the "goodbye post". If you're that fed up, just stop posting. Nobody really cares why ...

Man, I really hope you identify yourself to me at a bowl game or something in our future because I will drop you in front of your family.

Sorry you've made this a completely toxic place to discuss anything by being completely pedantic about everything.

Enjoy this forum turning into a giant turd factory. Why shouldn't I let you know, that as a moderator of this site that you're directly responsible for lost advertising revenue and commentary?

Happy holidays, you filthy animal. 😉

The fact that you think saying big changes are coming is "breaking" news is a testament to the sad state of information dissemination in these times. TDS is not much more than a USF gossip site, which obviously does have a place for those that want that stuff, but they can't hold a candle to places like TBT for honest to goodness USF news from an outside source.

Nice job cherry picking one example out of several that I gave.

This is why I left this site and will leave again. Adios.

There is just no way that in their heart of hearts anyone honestly believes that someone saying “some unknown thing will happen at some unknown times in the future” is an actual prediction of something specific happening at a specific time. I guess this is how prophecies, fortune telling and horoscopes have existed for so long but but vaguely alluding to non specified actions at unspecified times isn’t predicting it’s just allowing the mark to wrongly associate what naturally happens in life to open ended statements that were intentionally not specific.

It's not really my goal to sit here defending TDS, I was simply making a call out that while they often make vague statements (not quite as vague as the statement you're making) they do it enough that it's clear they have some insider knowledge. Just for some simple examples, they heard Burke was going to be OC before anyone else. They broke that massive changes were coming (a dozen players + 4 coaches certainly is that). They broke very interesting details around the new branding. They confirmed Judy was retiring. They have the best sprint/summer practice reports. They also do (by far) the best breakdown of matchups before and after of any source out there.

Give these guys a break. They're a notch above anyone on this board and care more about the program than anyone at our local paper. Without them the Internet would be a lot worse for Bulls coverage.

Yeah pretty sure they didn’t call this... TBT broke the story. Colin wrote a cryptic article about how there would be a top-down review after the season and that there would prob be changes. I think a top-down review/changes after this turd of a season was to be expected..

Before the TBT made it official (of course Colin was going to be cryptic and not out his sources) people were initially skeptical and then calling him an idiot within days of seeing no changes.

Now that changes are confirmed they're changing the narrative to he wasn't specific enough.

    Cool story.

The fact remains, he called this before anyone at TBT because nobody at TBT has any connections and/or don't actually care about the program.

TDS is one of the best sources of data and analysis in the USF verse.

This really gives you an idea of how far we've fallen,

no recruit in our all-time top 10 post-2012.

Lots of underachievers and outright busts in the top 10. Also notice that 40% of the players are JUCO. We recruited "on the edge" a lot more back then.

    1. Giddens: Underachieved
    2. JPP: Overachieved (mostly in the NFL)
    3. Mitchell: Bust (had potential but was stupid off the field)
    4. Price: Underachieved
    5. Chandler: "OK"
    6. Montgomery: Bust (transferred to mighty Iowa St and then even mightier Toledo)
    7. Ford: Bust (had a few fluke amazing games)
    8. Bedford: "OK"
    9. Battles: Bust
    10. Stirrups: Bust

The sentiment may not be popular but these kids are rated highly because our program was rated more highly and in a better conference. That's all these services do. They're a self fulfilling prophecy with huge trailing returns in order for a change to happen.

For example, Clemson would not have a badly rated class next season no matter what, because they are perceived as a good recruiting team in a power conference. Dabo could literally go bat **** insane and recruit total trash and they'd still get a bunch of 4/5 stars. It'd take at least a year or two of recruiting showing no results post-signing day for that perception - and the ratings associated with future classes - to change.

Better yet don't call some one a pedantic baby, or baby of any other sort, when you are simply faced with being corrected.  It will happen in life.

For the argument you inserted yourself into it looked like you were being a pedantic baby. As if you were refuting my point to brybull.

I couldn't have cared less if you just pointed out the incorrectness of my statement. It was wrong.

  14. 5 minutes ago, Brad said:

I didn't have a point, there was nothing to frame.  I only pointed out the error.  It wasn't in a vacuum.  It was simply a correction to your uninformed or blatantly false statement.

Sorry, I misremembered a thing that most Bulls fans wouldn't have even known ever happened. That we had a second game against UF that they bailed on.

Clearly, it warranted a response with no empathy instead of "Actually, it was not a home and home."

Then followed by a day of **** measuring, despite me never refuting your point (because it's an absolute, we did not have a return game) and also trying to convey your point had no change to the other discussion I was having (also an absolute, they haven't played us on the road).

I'll make sure to never misremember a fact again around you. To the end that I'll probably just drop off your money losing venture of a message board.

    Thanks for everything.
