  1. I know of one way you may get in, but what exactly is the other way?
  2. Agreed here. I think what Marinatto was saying is that the Big East would act if something comes up to its advantage. UCF and Houston can wait on Nova. But if Kansas or to the extreme, Oklahoma or somebody came calling and wanted to join then the Big East would act. I wouldn't be surprised if KU and Mizzou show interest. Mizzou wanted an invite to the Big Ten, though if both of them join then we might as well go to 12 teams which would still leave us waiting for Nova. but those facts don't help their case, so they ignore them. ;D Also, if schiano (sp?) is blocking Savage from going to Miami, FSU, and UF because he thinks it will hurt recruiting, what would make them think RU wants another BCS team in the conference?
  3. Of course when Bianchi was reporting on the whole controversy with Erick Plancher, they were all screaming "LIES!" and ready to boycott the Sentinel. I don't know why they're acting so surprised. Did they expect us to be lobbying FOR them? Would they do any differently if the roles were reversed? How is it good for us to have them in the Big East diluting our recruiting? For an extra 15k for 1 out of 6 home games? PUH-LEEZ. Besides, USF is only 1 vote. All they need is 6 votes from the football members and theres not a **** thing USF can do about it. But who else is gonna vote for UCF? Louisville just got a coach with Florida roots and over half of their 2011 commits are from Florida. West Virginia has 5 recruits from FL and their roster is already littered with FL players. Same with Rutgers. Sorry UCF, as much as you wanna tout your school size and facilities and on campus stadium....all that takes a back seat to politics. To quote Michael Corleone: "It's not personal. It's strictly business." Nicely put ... and it's an extra 15k for 1 out of 12 home games ... we play 12 home games? No but you only get them home every other year. got it.

  5. That's what I like best about him. He may not have the physical attributes of some other qb recruits, but he's shrewd when it comes to football. Plus, the kid's academics are top-notch. Reminds me of another gutsy, undersized QB we had play at USF not too long ago who also had a history of winning huge games at his school. doesn't he have a bunch of family that's been in the NFL? I thought I saw he was related to "the freak"?
  6. http://rivals.yahoo.com/tennessee/football/recruiting/player-Joshua-Grady-103027 lists him as having USF, Iowa St & Wake Forest as his top 3.
  7. The same could be said about Louisville... except he wouldn't remain a bull
  8. I bet Holtz and co. could figure out a way to use what could possibly the highest rated USF recruit ever. Especially considering our extremely limited options at QB. they didn't really figure out how to use the rivals #8 rated dual threat from 3 years ago(BJ Daniels) so i'm not sure the #2 rated this year is any better suited to their offense. Ideally you want a dual threat QB because they are so dangerous when on the field. Holtz always had big mobile QB's with a pocket presence. If BJ was bigger and could stand in the pocket and deliver with accuracy while still being able to run like he does then we would be set at QB, but he can't so gotta find a QB who does both. Pickney averaged less than 4 carries per game his last year with Holtz. He averaged a total of 5.8 yards rushing per game. that's not a dual threat. that's a QB that runs a few times on broken pass plays. this kids game isn't suited for Holtz's offense. just like carnes last year. wasn't Brion Carnes jerking coach around last year? Plus he was listed at 6'-0, holtz likes taller qbs from the looks of things. personally I think Holtz blew off Carnes. didn't their coach have some beef with how Holtz blew him off or revoked his offer? he was a terrible passer but rated as a top dual threat. it didn't matter how tall he was. his coach was mad holtz pulled the offer, but like I said, the kid was wavering and I don't think holtz was playing any head games, which is when gunsby committed. Also, I didn't say it mattered to me how tall he was, I was just stating it looks like holtz likes taller qbs, so to him it may play a factor, that's all I was saying.

  10. I don't think we're really recruiting him as a QB, but I could be wrong.
  11. You'd kind of hope that train of thought would hold true for ALL our recruits ... you know, like not making snide comments about drunk qb's in the huddle and such. : I have never made a "snide" comment about a drunk QB in a huddle. Who replaces him, Stevie(drunk in the huddle) Weatherford? Maybe BJ in a further departure from sanity? Jamius who looks big and strong but will have his own growing pains? WHO???????? http://thebullspen.com/index.php?topic=76654.msg869163#msg869163 PWNAGE
  12. http://twitter.com/cdowlar per cdowlar: Nature Coast wide receiver Ja'Juan Story, #UF commitment, is currently at basketball practice. Unlikely to discuss the situation tonight.
  13. Don't know if it's been posted, but he's now committed to FSU. http://rivals.yahoo.com/louisville/football/recruiting/player-Jordan-Prestwood-99242

  15. I don't think UCF would like to play Florida, Florida State, Miami, or USF this year; even in down years, Florida's BCS teams would murder UCiF. are you that much of a homer? USF didn't even 'murder' Western Kentucky but somehow we beat the **** out of you. hmmmm....? yeah it's real smart to compare this year's team for both schools versus 2007 or whenever...different QBs, etc......that's the stupid thing about a lot of College Football fans, they keep pointing to something that happened years ago that shouldn't have any affect on this season. UCF is having a good year and deserves the ranking this week, were 12 points from being undefeated, have blown out bad teams and haven't decisively lost any game by a lot of points, it shows the type of team that has UCF has this season. but you had kevin smith, you should have killed us ;D
  16. As 83 so eloquently pointed out, this board is about state of Florida ATHLETICS. If you need "athletics" defined, I'll be more than happy to elaborate. Legitimate UCF sports posts stay out there unless they get0 out of hand with the foolishness. I agree completely .... Of course, the "****" I'm refering to is your post. shouldn't it have theroetically been moved to "the trough" then?
  17. I think they see anything mention UCF and it automatically goes to the drivel board, kind of like you mention anything about miller, erskin or mcmurphy and it automatically gets moved to the leavitt board..
  18. I think I just found a picture of it.... ;D pretty impressive
