I agree with you and everything said said was correct. The only thing I see that could hold us back is history and reputation. Winning wasn’t important to them when they added Rutgers and Maryland, but they do have a lot of history. I believe we are a sleeping giant and IF they added us, we could see 2007 type of support come back fast!

It would be even  faster - Season tix and all games at the 35k OCS would sellout

I don't know what the exact numbers are but I have always doubted whether Rutgers really brings the NYC/ New Jersey market. Besides students and alum I doubt many in that region really care about how Rutgers performs in the Big 10, and even less who are willing to watch it on tv. I think the Big 10 made a mistake in that respect.

I must say I was AMAZED at the strong support they have in the area. I went to the Michigan game last year. It was packed and electric.

A couple of weeks ago, in a post regarding the OCS, I criticized the Faculty for not achieving AAU status.  After yesterday’s announcement, it’s only fair and appropriate that I commend the Faculty for this accomplishment. Congratulations to all involved!

However, I received a reality check today on this topic. I’m enrolled in a doctoral program at another university. I asked a professor (who is also the program director) what his opinion of the AAU was, and his response was “what’s that?” Given that the guy has been a professor for 25-30 years, I was very surprised by the response.  After I explained the AAU, he mentioned the Carnegie Research ranking system. Looked it up, and USF is an R1 school. At least he didn’t say that the AAU is a basketball league - that’s a comment I’d expect from a UCF fan…

I still think that the AAU is a big deal, but the professor’s comment tempered my enthusiasm. If it gets us in a better conference, then so much the better.

USF Athletics - time to step up and take the school to the next level!

Your professor’s lack of knowledge is disturbing.

  3. Shut up!!!! I mean we have heard about this for years and it just never seemed like it was going to happen. This is huge. I literally thought Mike was putting up a prank post.

    So what?

A lot of people on this board never played a day of football past little league or high school and were calling for the firing of Jeff Scott.

A lot of people on this board never played a day of organized basketball and were calling for the firing of Brian Gregory.

All TDS did in their tweet is ask the question: "Will Billy Mohl be fired?"  There is nothing wrong asking that question.

Sure and it’s no different when it happens in football or basketball. I think their point is is that it is with people immediately jump to. It’s probably a flaw of mine, but I am under the belief system that it is not my job to question the hiring or firing of anybody who is not under me or maybe that I work with.

Usually I’m 💯 on this take but normalizing losing isn’t the answer either. It’s against my religion to click on a tds article but if the article is talking about wins I don’t see how responding about his excellent team mom skills is quite the own people think that it is. If anything these responses show that he has taught his players the wrong things are important. Just ask members of the people’s temple about the culture Jim Jones is building and you will see that sometimes the worst perspectives on how things are going are from the people most entrenched in that thing. What were his KPIs when he arrived and is he hitting them, that’s all that matters. Everyone in usf athletics are nice salt of the earth people because one of the best ways people that are awful at things get to advance far beyond their capabilities is by being nice.

Besides being an antagonist, do you:

    Go to games?

    Actually cheer for USF?

Wonder what you will post when we start winning again?

Not entirely true... but even USF's OCS would be too big for the new women's USL.   Sahlen's Stadium here in North Carolina (home of both a men's USL and a WSL team) is only 10,000 seats.

"... the plan is to find or build a temporary stadium to play in by August 2024.

Then comes a 5000-seat permanent stadium, possibly in Ybor City."

The yet-to-be-named team is part of the new USL Super League, which will also be based in Tampa. Amanda Vandervort is the league’s president.

If 30,000 seats is not too big for lacrosse then it’s probably OK for soccer

I really like Colorado State's stadium and their color scheme of Green and Gold.

Agreed. I would be very happy with something similar to this. I would love to see a list/timeline of expected things to occur over the next two years so we can game plan and  have things to look forward to.

    4. Home game you are most looking forward to?
    5. Are there milestones you want to see on or off the field that would increase your contributions to The Bulls Club?

    1. Brown

    2. To not be god-awful and not give up 185% of 3rd downs attempted

    3. 98%

    4. Alabama

    5. No. I give at my max. That isn’t how or why I give.

A half measure is no measure at all. In order to get the money required to even begin to service the debt you need to have premium seating areas to sell and generate bigger donations. Even a modest project at this time will have a big price point. Might as well do it right out of the gate and bet on the program to be successful.

Just don't understand why they are building it all or nothing.  Build the basic bones to support 30,000 and then add-on as the program grows.  Make sure the design is such that you can add-on.   Probably a lot of you will disagree.

Yeah sorry. Do it right or don’t do it.

I may be overestimating the critical thinking abilities of those you're talking about but I really don't think any of them would be stupid enough to ***** about ticket pricing ........ I think any serious criticism would be about the just mentioned priority process.

Well yes that may happen (but they will still complain on price) - so not criticizing but look. Fan A has had tickets and donated $500 a year for the last 10 years. Fan B (new) donates a $1000 and jumps Fan A? I don't get vocal about a lot but USF knows my feelings on this. I am hopeful they make the best decision for USF and their loyal fans.

Will be curious when they start the OCS seat "sales" . . . sure priority will be given to those that have had season tix the longest.

Excited that this day is almost here . . . remember Season One choosing the season tickets at Sombrero. Cool sitting there looking out at the field imagining.

    Go BULLS !!!

Do you think? I bet they go with priority points over length of time with tickets. Just my guess.

I think pricing for the OCS seats is going to be a shock to many. The school has paid millions of dollars for studies on maximizing revenue while decreasing costs, and charging for seat fees and the costs for tickets in smaller stadiums are likely going to be much higher than what we are used to at RJ. This will require adjustments to yearly budgeting/savings/prioritization for all of us. The good news is - we have 3 years to start digging through our couches and saving our pennies!

Options to help save - start a new account and donate a little each month. Use Acorns and setup a marginal addition with each expense you make. Dividend/coupons distribute to an OCS account. Etc. Etc. Looking forward to that first home game on campus with everyone from this forum.

The negative posts when it happens will be unbearable even though they asked for the stadium

One thing to note if I'm reading the chart correctly.  My tier 3 club seats now cost $600 per seat.  This would increase to $2,750 each??  That seems like quite a jump though I understand the inventory is substantially reduced for club access.  Oh well, no air conditiong here I come!

I wonder too is the capital gift one time or recurring AND if we already made a gift does that count towards it? But agreed if my current seats that have club access go to $2750 per seat, then I will just do midfield lower level.

So 10,000 "scholarship" seating are non-club seats that require a capital gift/initial license per the chart below which identifies the pricing for such seats.  Also, they've only allocated 6,000 seats to students which I think is proper at over 17-18% of all seats.

Excellent find. Thank you. I think I’m going to end up buying tickets in multiple locations.
