Are you trying to bring common sense into this thread good sir?! How dare you...
-
Lol... He'd be a fine fit at Memphis.
-
Umm... I'm thinking Willie has smoothed over the relationship (see recent 4* DT recruit). Dude is going to get offered a sweet signing bonus to play baseball. Take the offer. He's not comin here or even in the cards.
-
He's going pro. He will be a high draft pick.
-
Data- it would be a big loss- I agree. Do you think he starts right away? I used to play a little 7-7 with my friends as well. I could tear it up and have a pretty big arm. When people start blitzing it's totally different. The best QB doesn't throw deep bombs- he reads the blitz and hits the check down. I'd love to have him, I think he has a crazy high ceiling. I am just confused why numerous people seem to think he solves our QB problems right away.
-
Trip- I believe Skin said it. I'm on an iPhone- its hard enough to type on the darn thing. JTrue- agree about Selvie and Nate Allen (Allen was a stud in HS tho). My point is people see 4*s and see him starting immediately. Dude could be the next Carlton Hill or the next Teddy B. Day one he is not the best QB on the roster.
-
You are totally right! He is ready to start immediately against college competition because he was sooo successful in high school. He won a tournament with no pass rush. The next time USF plays a 7-7 tourney with no O or D line, we are set!
-
This thread makes me miss the Grady one. Just putting it out there- he is not starting from day 1. Not gonna happen. He is rated so highly bc of his size and arm strength. The stuff between the ears isn't there yet.
-
Huge! The Mayes pickup has already paid off!
-
Tell him if there is room, he is in. Let him make the final call.
-
Sure would Slick. Im not a recruiting expert, but I am not seeing it. He is ranked so high bc of his size and a cannon of an arm. He also won a 7-7 tourney with no rush. No matter where he goes, I'm interested in what he does. I truly believe its boom or bust.
-
I think AW is gone and I am perfectly fine with it.
-
Hey Trip... Schools get 50 something official visits per year. It is a finite amount.
-
Wow this blew up lol. I understand your feelings 100% slick and it does bother me a bit. But, we don't know 100% what was said. Bullwinkle, at the time, I think Holtz was good w him. My argument is this: every year, you see players transfer to a smaller school bc they just won't get playing time. It sucks right now, but I'd rather spend all 4 years at the same school then decide to transfer half way through... Just me.
-
Believe it or not, I think Floyd gets the nod. Just a gut feeling. I thought Eveld looked better in the Miami game tho. I just can't see White start as a true frosh.
-
@BullsFan- no. He needs to add some weight to thy frame. I'd redshirt him. For what it's worth, I think the starter is already on the roster.
-
There is no great way of doing it! At least they called and told him. You got Tubbs up at Cinci who basically just stopped contacting players.
-
Kid does it for a better offer- yay for the kid. School does it for a better play, shame on the school. The end.
-
It happens. No disrespect intended, but there are/were about 4 or 5 offers to kids that should have never happened. I'd rather the coach be honest and say you may neer play a down here than figure it out after 2 or 3 yrs and transfer.
-
First thing to remember is that the list of schools who have offered is never 100% correct. The sites get this info from the players who are not always honest- a school cant comment on a player. Say FSU is interested but hasn't officially offered; a kid may tell the sites he has an offer. Next, the 'noncommittable' offer is not always clear. School X may say, we are interested in you and plan on takin you, but we just are waitin for somebody to transfer or a spot to open up. They may be honest, but they may also be doing this to keep the kid on the hook in case they end up needing him for a fill in.
-
Don't think this is the first one either....
-
A school has a kid take an official so if they strikeout on somebody else, they can go after that player. Just bc a player takes an official does not mean he has a committable offer... Committable offer... Committable offer. Notice the emphasis I'm putting on committable offer???
-
Part of me really hates it, but part of me is frustrated with the way Holtz was recruiting... As soon as he whiffed on a 4*, he would get a quick commit from a lower rated player and be done...
-
He never said anything about a big conference, but Seldom Seen/dad is a different story....

Was never a fan- doesn't fit the system. I didn't like even offering in the first place.
