  1. Surprised we are not hearing much about James Coley...the guy has been around winning programs at the highest level and knows how to recruit. He won a state 6A title as a high school coach, worked for a year with the Miami Dolphins, was a graduate Assistant at LSU when they won the National Championship, and is ACC recruiter of the year last year and a darn good offensive coordinator. He also has ties to the Miami area which couldn't hurt recruiting. He might also be able to bring some of that FSU talent with him...

  2. Went to South Carolina for grad school...was still passionate about the Bulls and went to a couple of Cocks games, but found it hard to get into them like I did for USF. It is like the difference between a mother and a step-mom. Sure, you can learn to love your step-mom, but it will never be the same as your real mother. Choose a school because of the academic quality of the program you want to go into and the location it is in (are there things to do, weather, food, jobs available, etc.).

  3. He should forego his salary for 2013. I think this would buy him a little respect from fans. He would have to combine this with an acknowledgement of his failures and a pledge to turn this football program back around. If we are stuck with him anyway this would at least numb the pain a little. At this point I am not sure he realizes he is part of the problem. At least he would then address part of the issue and begin the healing process.

That would take balls, something I am not sure Holtz has.

  4. I saw an article in a South Carolina paper today that talked about the University of South Carolina's team motto "Win Anyways". Spurrier said he came up with it because during the course of a season every team has key injuries, suspensions, hard times etc., but he says excuses are for losers and he doesn't allow them into his locker room. He goes on to explain how winning is a mentality that starts from the top down with the coaches and team captains...the whole time I was reading it I couldn't help but wonder: what is our team's motto and what kind of mentality have we been using?

  5. I know many top recruits want to play in the best conferences due to the tv and media exposure. The NBE has some interesting destinations however and if we start winning could have a yearly open door to a top bowl. How will this affect recruiting going forward? Do we pull in top talent in the state away from FSU Miami and UF? The last part was a joke BTW.
