anybody that defends Deumig needs to stop posting on this site. Only bandwagon buc fans tune him in.
Most of the local radio guys are a joke.

ford needs to do alot to pass the 3 rbs ahead of him and one false move he will be in leavitt's dog house
Does he? A walk on, a man who IS in the dog house and has had problems with drugs, and a one who is comming over a major knee injury.
I would LOVE to see Rod Smith line us up in the classic I-Formation and just run the ball between the tackles, especially in the 2nd half when we have leads and the other team is getting worn down.
Yeah, I mean, just imagine having 250 lb Kelly leading the way looking to crush defenders, and then when they get to Ford, he's still a big load to bring down. That could be a punishing duo right there, and that's why I would love to see more I-Formation next year if Ford does manage to take over the starting job (which I'm assuming he will).

Is there any updates on the health of planchar? He looked good against McNeese.. but ofcourse it was just McNeese. It would be nice to have two quality backs. Does the press release mean Ford will start classes in the Fall or what?
Did he look good against McNeese? He was only in for 1 play when he tore his ACL.
I guess it was over a 5 yard gain on that one play, so he has a good average for his career YPC.
I guess I didn't see enough of him to say he looked good. I heard he was pretty electric in practice.
Plancher was injured in the first SERIES, not the first CARRY. He had like 5 carries in the first series before tearing his ACL and looked pretty good, but hard to really tell.
AWESOME NEWS ABOUT FORD! WELCOME TO THE USF FAMILY, MIKE!
Just checked the stat line. 4 carries for 26 yards
What, you didn't believe me?
Actually, I just watched the replay of that game the other day, specifically to remind me of how Plancher looked.
Just curiosity cuz I couldn't recall him getting more than a few carries

I think he was ranked like the #17 runningback in the country. He was also a 5-star on Rivals coming out of high school
-
Where is he expected to go in the draft? I think if he gains a little more weight amd sistains his speed at the combine and this weekend i think he could bumb up to the 1st day. But when is he expected now.
Last I saw on ESPN, he was being projected as a late 1st day, early 2nd day pick
-
He should have been the MVP of the bowl game. The simple fact that he was standing was great in and of itself.
Mike, if you're referring to an injury, it was St. Louis that was playing, in effect, on one leg

Do you guys think we'll see a little less of the shotgun next season? I personally feel like Ford would be better suited to get the ball with some steam built up as opposed to taking the handoff from the shotgun formation. As such, I would like to see more singleback sets with Grothe under center, and maybe some I-Formation with Kelly lining up at FB (assuming Kelly doesn't redshirt next season).
What do you guys think?

EXCELLENT NEWS!!!! ;D ;D ;D 8-) 8-) 8-)

Or just start freakin out like you're ******* insane and try to scare them away
-
Lol, I noticed that too. WTF? :-?
-
Is it just me or were our guards just not driving at all (little if any) against the 2-3? And why in the hell did it take so long for them to adjust to the full court press?
-
Thanks for the info. Interesting about the negativity re:speed, as I really hadn't noticed that. He always seems to be in position for a tackle on sweeps.
Still, a first day draft position, regardless of the round, would be nice. There will be some quality LBs in this draft, too.
In the position rankings, they had him as the 8th ranked OLB

But here is the "Expert's Take" on Stephen Nicholas as provided by ESPN Insider:
Strengths: Possesses adequate initial quickness, reads keys well and flashes the ability to disrupt plays in the backfield. Has excellent instincts and rarely gets caught out of position. Plays with a good motor and takes good pursuit angles. Possesses good athletic ability, stays under control and is a reliable open field tackler that wraps up upon contact. Plays with a mean streak and flashes the ability to deliver the big hits. Gets adequate depth, shows good instincts and shows adequate range when asked to drop into zone coverage. Possesses good lateral mobility, shows good burst coming out of cuts and flashes the ability to stay with tight ends in man coverage. Takes the shortest path to the quarterback, flashes the ability to avoid blocks in the backfield and is a relentless pass rusher.Weaknesses: Is undersized, doesn't have the lower body strength to consistently anchor at the point of attack and creates running lanes by avoiding blockers rather than stacking them up. Hasn't show great upper body strength, doesn't always use hands well and takes too long to shed blocks. Lacks-ideal top-end speed, doesn't have sideline-to-sideline range and isn't fast enough to run with most backs. While has stated relatively healthy since and durability isn't a substantial concern at this point, red-shirted with an ankle injury in 2002.
Overall: Nicholas played in the first three games of his true freshman season in 2002, recorded two total tackles and one tackle for loss, then injured his knee and received a medical redshirt. He returned in 2003, played in all 11 games (nine starts) and finished the year with 46 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and one forced fumble. In 2004, Nicholas started all 11 games and made 97 total tackles and 11 tackles for loss. He started all 12 games in 2005, registering 79 total tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, one fumble recovery, and two forced fumbles.
Nicholas is an instinctive prospect with above-average athletic ability. He also plays with a mean streak. However, but he lacks ideals size and speed, so his upside is somewhat limited. Nicholas projects as a late first-day or early second-day pick in the 2007 draft class.

I guarantee you their team doesn't feel the same way, not after their '05 trip down here.
-
I think the article Dave just posted on Rivals said he's 6'1" 190. And he said they're looking at him as possibly a WR or DB. Don't know much about him other than that
-
I'll be at the Auburn and FAU games. If we play UConn during Thanksgiving week, then I will go to that game as well, since I'll likely be in Connecticut for Thanksgiving as I have the last two years
-
This game has been crazy
-
he also said ecu was the "feel good team of the year"
hmm wonder why
Cuz Lou Holtz is a bigger homer than anybody on television. I still laugh when remembering him saying, prior to the USC/Notre Dame game, that Notre Dame was clearly the better team on the field and on paper. I can't stand Lou Holtz

See you tomorrow...
Haha, hey Mike. Yeah, it'll be an early morning tomorrow

I know there's been a thread or two already about attendance, but I was wondering...what are the numbers looking like for both schools just two days before the game. I was only wondering because I keep seeing ECU kids talking about the stadium will be painted purple, and last I saw, they were only a thousand or two tickets ahead of us in sales.

Our group is in Section 33, row 4, seats 15-26
-
Fortunately, I don't think our green will be swallowed up by the other team's colors like we were last year with the NC State fans and their red attire.
