  1. I won't be concerned about Byrum leaving because of this until we've been given a reason to worry. I'm going to enjoy the season with Byrum setting more records and hopefully leading us to a conference championship and (thus likely) playoff birth. He seems to legitimately love being at USF and until such time as his name goes into the portal, I'm not gonna lose sleep over it.

omg....i love the Bulls and I will take all the positive press we can get but no way a team who has a Net ranking of 103 and an RPI of 74 with a SOS of 161st be essentially the 41st ranked team in the country. These voters don't really pay attention, all they see is a record. I shouldn't complain but I do it when other teams are "ranked" higher than they should be so i guess turnabout is fair play. It would be hilarious(and awesome) if we get in the dance.

Excuse me sir. 40 in one poll. Put some respek on their name

Yeah I was annoyingly loud and hyped when he caught it. Especially bc of the Bulls shout-out he did just before the game.

Buuut man chiefs players were not happy with him when he ran backwards for a 4 yard loss in OT.

I mean, I said the same. Like MVS what are you doing nooooooooo

I am concerned by the lack of offense in the first game. The Sophomore pitcher for Illinois State, Hannah Meshnick, did not have the resume of a pitcher that would hold the Bulls to one hit over 9 innings. She didn't strike out a single batter, so it was likely just a fluke, but time will tell. The bats coming alive against BCC was expected and a welcome sight. The Bulls host Michigan, Oregon State, Florida (#16), and Kansas over the next 4 days. Let's hope we are at least 4-2 on Tuesday.

One of the maddening things about CKE's tenure is that we've never been able to consistently put together a great offense. He always manages to find an ace to hold us down for 3-4 years, but the offense has always been inconsistent.

That all being said, you were right on with the potential success of this team. Still have a long way to go to hit all 4 bullish predictions, but 100% possible. I've been wrong before and will be wrong again. Think I started a post after Mike Whits first start saying he would leave USF as the best QB in our history. Was way off on that.

    prob an overseas guy

To be fair, if we had run a system that fit his skills he could have been. We just didn't have the talent for it yet in 2014 and the system switch in 2015 didn't align itself with his talents. Dude was no slouch at Western Kentucky.

    I know it's from a B12 dude...just rumors guys!   All in fun!

SEC doesn't need FSU or Clemson insofar as they already have a presence in both Florida and South Carolina. I think the appeal for the SEC adding those teams would be to keep them out of the B1G's hands. And the Big 12 nerds may not want to hear it, but FSU isn't gonna go to the Big 12 so they can make the same money as UCF. That's why all the hubbub in the first place. They're either going to the SEC or B1G or finding a common ground with the ACC to boost revenue and stay long-term (the least likely option of the 3 at this point).

Oh I can see it.  Sure they've let ND do their own thing and they've been rewarded for it, but that might not continue.  With the SEC/B1G engaging in a quasi-alliance all other parties are at risk of inequity.

The threat of lawsuits over collusion are what I assume would keep them at bay. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Notre Dame's resources are far deeper than FSU's and if they thought there was active collusion to keep them out to push them into a conference, they'd no doubt sue every and anyone they had to.

So, I'm supposing that media market means less and number of engaged alumni mean more.

Correct. At some point (and we may already be getting close), the number of people using streaming apps will be higher than the number of people on cable. At that point it's going to be a matter of people actually paying for your streaming platform rather than being roped in by carriage fees on channels they don't watch.

  9. As to the Notre Dame discourse, I think the only way a deserving ND gets squeezed out of the playoff is if there is a concerted, coordinated effort to sabotage their status as an independent in an effort to force them to join a conference. I imagine anyone involved with that effort would face some kind of severe financial blowback whenever that coordinated sabotage eventually becomes public knowledge (it always does at some point).

With that in mind, I think there's zero chance they leave a deserving Notre Dame out of the playoff for a similar-in-record SEC or B1G team.

Notre Dame to the Big 10 makes sense to me.

Notre Dame to B1G makes a lot of sense to everyone outside of the fact that as an independent they make as much or more then most P5 schools in media revenue. Until there is financial incentive (i.e. the P2 squeezing them out in CFP revenue), they won't feel the need to join a conference because their name holds as much clout as it does
