  1. LEAVING EARLY: USF coach Skip Holtz has taken great pride in the way his players have battled to the final second during the team's six-game losing streak, so he was disappointed to find out Monday that a few Bulls players left the field before Saturday's final play, a kickoff from Louisville with three seconds left.

"It bothers me, very much so," Holtz said Monday on the Big East's weekly teleconference. "We're playing this game, we all want to win, but we've all talked about having character and dignity and doing this thing the right way as well. ... You have to have some class and dignity, not only when you lose but when you win as well. I think some of these lessons are hard lessons."

What a lack of fire. No word on how it will be handled. And how do they learn to win with class and dignity when they never win? And didn't Holtz start or try to start that whole team goes to student section to sign school song? What happened to that? I guess all the heartbreak just finished that off too. This guy just talks to talk but does nothing. As a donor I want to see someone in the program do something that at least looks like they are trying to fix the problems. Other than just giving out unwarranted contract extensions and two year deals for piss poor D coordinators. Well one bright spot is Woolard doesn't have to worry about other schools trying to lure Holtz away now.

This guy doesn't even rearrange the Titanic chairs. He just talks to the band about how proud he is that they are playing.

  2. With most programs one would think with this many late losses and poor defensive schemes and general regression someone/media would be demanding answers and/or the coach would be implementing some kind of changes. I cannot count how many times the team has lost late and all we hear from Holtz is the same old same old. If this guy is under any pressure it is amazing how he can continue to just say the same stuff over and over. He has spent two plus seasons playing soft zones that have failed most everytime. Cosh is bad, but this problem pre-existed his time here. In amost every field if one is failing over and over changes are made or you are out or forced to change.

Each game I grow more disallusioned because I don't see anything from the staff that makes me think they realize the problems and are going to find a fix.

The most recent press conference Holtz heaps praise on the front seven for the Louisville game. For what- holding their RB's in check. Did I miss something? Wasn't Bridgewater breaking lose over and over, were there more plays for loss, pressure on that last drive.

I will always be a fan but I wonder does anyone see areas that would make us think things are going to improve? I am looking for hope.

  3. When has anyone seen Holtz out coach any team? He has never had a complete win against any team (at BCS/FCS level). Best to me was Clemson and his putrid D almost let them come back to. Notre Dame had to give us the game (turnover after turnover).

Holtz is a mess and so currently is this team. Question is- is there any hope that things are going to improve?

Guess that fan should have yelled......... Beat anyone please

  4. In two plus seasons we have seen:

    Horrible in game coaching decisions

    Little to no player development

    Numerous last drive losses

    Recruiting seems to be lacking

    Same mistakes over and over

    Special teams has regressed

D is worst I have seen

And the same silly banter from the coach each and every week

As a fan and a donor I see no reason to believe under this regime things will or can improve. Holtz has shown me nothing . I will no longer even call him coach because he shows no ability to be one.

These are dark days and we have to forget any talk of Big Four which was silly to begin with. At this rate the program is on the fast track to being irrelevant. The team has clearly fallen behind every Big East team as well as most middle of the road programs.

I have been a fan since day 1 and have never felt so disappointed in our teams future.

  5. If Holtz had pride he would prepare better. Hire a DC that actually had a track record of success. Not make excuses. Not say the same coach speak BS week after week. He and his staff have taken this program to the breaking point and next season will be worse bet on it. All his nonsense about learning from last season and the seniors that were so hunger was a joke. Now he says the team is tired after a long camp and six weeks of games. One thing is for certain. Wollard will never collect any bonuses for Holtz winning anything on the field. That bonus money is safe. When your bonuses are tied to Holtz success the only thing you will get is your salary. Because his D is soft?

(I've been dying to get that in somewhere)

**** it I almost spit on my IPad
