  1. Rueb, do you have anything to offer this board?

If you too got married, who would have the bridal shower? Would it be joint? Would you share bachlor party stories or just keep them to yourselves? I mean, at least you could register the Home Depot.

You have a long way to go before you're funny, keep trying kid.

    Your friend,

    Rueb

    Hermon,

    Please start contributing to life.

    Regards,

    S

  2. Hrmm. It looks like Mr. Jenkins turned 21 on the 22nd.

I call for a public lynching. He is the first kid to ever get drunk on his 21 run and get arrested. What a disgrace to society!!

Sorry, Mike Jenkins turned 22 on the 22nd, not 21. I guess I had a Brett moment...But it's STILL AND OUTRAGE!!

  3. Responses to Brett's blog on Pelphrey allegedly no longer having interest in the job.

Where does it say Pelphrey withdrew from consideration? The only thing I can find on CBS Sportsline is the article that says he’s a “backup candidate of sorts†and “unsure if he’d accept the jobâ€Â, here: http://www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/10080395

Gary, you are absolutely correct. I misread the CBSSportsline.com reference. I guess this was a bad week to give up amphetamines. I still believe what I was told and think he’s not interested in the USF job.

What drama...now we think he's not interested...I hope this type of press (like the EKU comments) aren't detrimental to outsiders' views of the program - there seems to be little concrete fact behind them.   I posted the same Sportsline.com excerpt here and had a completely different opinon on what it meant.

Umm, yeah. It's nice to know he is the hometown reporter for the newpaper of the City I live in.

Joe, were did you get this imformation. If it's reliable, I thank you. It seems the same people are posting 40 different thread on a coach and they all have different information. Too bad I can't read my local newpaper and get the info I need.

Good thing the coaching change isn't as important to me as it to BasketBull.

  4. You will know WAY before that final four.

No way woolard just sits out there hanging...

    He will get the..

"We made our offer, we need an answer by wends so we can try to find another coach."

It appears that we didn't make him an offer.

Winthrop coach: USF 'very nice' program

Winthrop coach Gregg Marshall confirmed Thursday that he has talked with USF athletic director Doug Woolard about the Bulls' basketball job. And while he's interested in the opening, the 44-year-old told a South Carolina newspaper Thursday that any reports that he had been offered the job were incorrect.

Why is the St. Pete Times SOOOOO much better than the Trib?

So, he is basically denying the fact that he was offered, not the job itself.

  5. I'm glad that my eyes have never had the mispleasure to grace the pages of the Orlando Sentinel. I've heard nothing but bad things about them, and this is coming from a community that reads the Tampa Tribune.

Alexander Hamilton is rolling over in his grave.

    Is that an incorrect reference?

First one to get the answer gets to be Editor-in-Cheif of the Sentinel for a day.

    NOPE! You're all wrong!!

The correct answer is - Alexander Hamilton founded the New York Post. That is why he would be rolling over in his grave.

Since none of you got it, the Editor-in-Chief job is still at-large.

  6. I follow UK Ruger, and I know that a very large segment of their fanbase want Pelphrey bad.  They can see the way he gets his kids to play(with heart, passion) and compare that to the robotic boorishness of Tubbyball.  He gets the most out of his guys and would do the same with BigEast caliber athletes at USF.

The only caveat to hiring him immediately is the lack of experience.  They want to see him work in a major conference first.

I predict Pelphrey and Ford will be big-time coaches ten years from now.  They were both a part of something very special on that team under Pitino, and I think they still carry that magic with them.

Glad to see someone else who actually knows about Pelphrey vs what they have read in the last few days.  People don't understand just how popular he is among the UK folks, especially some of the boosters who are calling for Tubby's head.

Talk about a tough job.  You can win 20 games and get to the tourney every year and unless you get to the final 4, you're viewed as a failure!  That's a tough pill to swallow.

I know they want to see him coach in a bigger conference first, but what I'm hearing is that they are so pissed at Tubby they may make the move quicker than they "should".  I've heard they ideally would like to see the switch in 3 years.  Which would give Pelphrey 3 years at USF or wherever, but that's not ideal for USF.  Only for UK.  It's hard to do anything in 3 years as that only gives you one year with a team of guys "you picked" and they're still young at that.

Pelphrey is a good coach, but if I was him, I'd stay at South and wait on the UK job.  His wife loves the area, he's loved here, expectations are low and it costs a ton more to live in Tampa than Mobile so USF would have to really pile up some cash to make it so much more attractive and I don't think USF has that kind of money.  If they went to $400K, that's a paycut for JP when you factor in the cost of living differences.

He must live in Fairhope if his wife loves the area...

Being that you are up at Mobile, I'll take what you say over the people around here. Although he is not in my Top 5 he will still be a major upgrade. Correct me if I'm wrong but Mobile isn't a bball community. If he is loved in a town that either "War Eagles" or "Rolls Tide" then he can do his thing here.

  7. Has anyone tried the "Remove Vote" and re-vote process?

This will be interesting to see how the votes move...since we are clinging to any and all new information..

I did. At first I picked Lowery until I read your first comment:

I think we should set up a poll, not with who we want to see, but of the rumored coaches who is most likely...

and I changed it to Pelphrey. Unless he turns us down, the press makes it seem like this is DW's guy. How do I feel about it? I'll let you all know next year if he can get us 4 Big East W's in a single season
