  1. You mean like when Slaton ran for 203 yards against SEC champ Georgia? You guys played a great game & deserved to win this year. My hats off to you guys. But to take a couple of comments by some WVU fans on a message board & turn it into some agenda against WVU is a litle over the top IMO. Great win for the Bulls. Hopefully we can get you back down in Tampa next year. I know it won't be easy. You guys are even better at home.
  2. Fairmont is really small town. Not much going on there at all. Fairmont State is the only college there & it only has about 1,800 students. I would guess that most USF fans are either in Morgantown or in Washington, PA which is about 40 minutes north of Morgantown.
  3. That hurt the Big East's chances big time. A couple of the BCS bowls said they would like to have a 10-2 LSU team. It would have been more beneficial if Arkansas had won & then Florida beat Arkansas in the championship game. Now it looks like the BCS bowl is out of reach for WVU unless Pitt beats Louisville or Nevada beats Boise State. Of course it's REALLY out of reach if USF beats WVU tomorrow, which isn't impossible.
  4. Normally I would say going out on High Street Downtown would be a LOT of fun Friday night. Unfortunately the students are out of town this week, so Morgantown will be a lot like a ghost town. Sorry if Morgantown is not up to your standards, but it is a fun college town. I've lived in DC & I enjoy Morgantown much more than I did my time there. But I understand the concept of to each his own. WVU was named the #3 party school last year & believe me the reputation is well deserved. The students love to have a good time. Unfortunately you won't get to experience that because they are all home this week. Which means this town (which is about 50,000+ with students in town) only has about 20,000 people in it right now. Enjoy your time & have fun at the game.
  5. Morgantown is a small college town, so we know it's not comparable to a city. Especially those of us who have lived in cities before (I lived in DC for a little while). If you are between the ages of 18-32 it is a pretty fun town to go out in though. WVU was ranked as the #3 party school this year in US News & World Report. The only problem with that is the students are out of town this week, so it will be a ghost town this weekend. There is a pretty good amount of restaurants for a town this small. My favorite is Oliverio's, a small Italian restaurant located on the Waterfront. There are several more decent ones on the other side of town as well located at a place called the University Town Center. >>Penn State & WVU Near the Top of Party School List The two state universities, both within a few hours of Pittsburgh, are ranked No. 2 and 3, respectively, on Princeton Review's 2007 ranking of the nation's best party schools. But not to worry - if you're looking for a school that's "stone cold sober" we've got one of them too - Grove City College in Mercer County was ranked No. 4 on that list.<< http://pittsburgh.about.com/b/a/257468.htm
  6. I'm 100% positive you will not be able to hold Louisville under 28 points.
  7. Seems a 'neer poster said about 8-10K WVU gets about 11,000 students per game on average. They give out 12,500 tickets, but the student section only holds 11,500. For the USF game we'll probably only get about 4,000 students, which will look awful on TV because they have the best seats in the house & are right across from the TV cameras. I hate having home games over Thanksgiving break. Not sure how many students attend USF home games.
  8. Yup. ECU is the only team to hold our rushing yards under 200 this year. UL did not stop us. We had 345 yards rushing against them & 500+ total yards. ECU was helped out by Steve Slaton's cramps. He missed a lot of the 3rd & 4th quarters with major cramping & could not accelerate at all in the 2nd half. They also tackled really well. They made sure to bring Slaton down the first time.
  9. The student section holds 11,500. It has been full every week except for the last home game against Cincinnati. There were about 1,000 empties for that one. And it looks bad on TV because the student section is in the upper deck right across from the TV cameras. It will be worse this week because the students are on Thanksgiving break. There will be about 5,000-6,000 empty seats for this one in the student section. The rest of the stadium will be full as usual. I really wish they would sell student tickets for student tickets that are not used.
  10. It was also posted on WVSports.com which is also really active. http://westvirginia.rivals.com/forum.asp
  11. Doubtful. Our students haven't burned any couches this year. Probably because we haven't had any signature wins this year. Ohio State had 50+ arrests Saturday though. Some of them for setting furniture & cars on fire.
  12. Honestly it shouldn't be that bad. Our biggest problems typically occur in games against top 10 opponents or rivalry games, i.e. Pitt. I'm sure you will encounter a few idiots because that's just unavoidable. But overall, I imagine the crowd will be rather subdued on Saturday. Especially since it's a noon game & our students are out of town. The game is sold out, but the student section across from the press box in the upper deck will be over half empty. Normally the student section is full. And that is where most of our problems usually happen. If you stop by our tailgate, we'll offer you a beer & some grub.
  13. I don't have any pics of USF girls. I'm sure someone on here can provide some. I have an aunt & uncle who live in Siesta Key (Sarasota) & met some USF girls down there. Smokin' hot!!
  14. Everyone assumes Pat White can't pass the ball, but that's just not the case. He was 11-16 for 204 yards 2 TD's & 0 INT's against Pitt. He's no Joe Montana or Peyton Manning, but he has a pretty nice arm. The reason they are ranked so low in the passing statistics is because they do not have to pass the ball. When you are running for 300+ yards per game, why would you put the ball in the air?
  15. Here is a group shot at a house party on Grant Ave. Not sure if there are any red heads in this shot.... http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/1111180521053235008dpXlXC
  16. Me either, I need more convincing...  LOL. I'll try to dig some up. I'm sure we can't compete with the Florida girls. But don't get confused with the West Virginia stereotype. There are some smokin' hot chicks at WVU.
  17. Normally it is very cold. Last year at this time we played Pitt on Thanksgiving night. That was the coldest game I've ever sat through. The wind chill was 10 below zero & I think the actual temperature dropped below 10 degrees. To tell you how cold it was that night, I bought a coke at the beginning of the game (fountain drink). By the end of the first quarter it was frozen solid. Like the idiot WVU fan that I am, I stayed until the final seconds ticked off the clock. There weren't too many others that did!! Fortunately it is supposed to be unseasonably mild Saturday. I believe the forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a chance of showers & 49 degrees. I'm sure that will change somewhat throughout the week, but I don't think it's going to be too cold at gametime. Especially since it is a noon kickoff.
  18. I'm not even going to comment on the analysis you gave about our offense. But on defense, we are very good at stopping the run. Pitt had -1 yards rushing last week. Right now WVU's rush defense is ranked #7 in the country, giving up 79.5 yards per game. Our pass defense has had some huge breakdowns, especially in the Louisville game & then during certain portions of other games throughout the year. That is the area you want to attack. But overall, we haven't played that poorly on defense this year. We are ranked 36th in total defense this year giving up 307.50 yards per game. Not great, but not horrible either. In fact, USF's defense is only ranked 9 spots ahead of us giving up 295.73 yards per game. We're only giving up 18.4 points per game, while averaging 40.7 points per game on offense.
  19. Yeah, these WVU students right here are REALLY ugly....
