Think this is what you're talking about:

Attend the Uptown Street Fest from 2:00pm - 8:00pm with the USF Pep Rally from 5:00pm - 5:30pm, Uptown entertainment district.

Continue the party across the street at Cantina Laredo where the Bulls gather on the rooftop. Complimentary appetizers and cash bar | 5:30pm - 7:30pm

    BINGO!!! I'll be there!!! +1

  2. It doesn't matter now, just as it didn't matter then.

Remember when the big easts WVU beat an amazing ACC champ clemson like 70-17?

Or when UL went to their bowls and sweeped up SEC competition...

There was a year the big east was like 7-1 in bowls.  That get us recognition?  NOPE

    Just got our teams cherrypicked.

I say we TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS in our own shed and worry about "conference reputation" later.

    JUST WIN JIM err...TJ?

    GO BULLS!!!

  3. If any of you have never had REAL southern food or want to have some on this trip, go to Irondale Cafe.  Many friends of mine who were born and raised in Birmingham and Alabama in general SWEAR by it.  As do I...I've been 3/4 times.  Lol

It's incredible.  All the southern delicacies you can get your hands on. For an incredibly reasonable price.

    Irondale Cafe http://www.irondalecafe.com

    1906 1st Ave N, Irondale, AL 35210

Its just outside side the city limits, but well worth the short drive.  Before the game, or the day before or after for lunch or maybe dinner.  It's only open from 11am-2:30pm most days, and sometimes from 5-7. ;)

It's also the home of the "original fried green tomatoes" :)

You forget that with an OCS we would've been invited to the SEC over TAMU, we could've hired Harbaugh instead of Holtz, and we would not have lost a game in five years while playing SEC powers every week attendance would surely be 110,000 a game reliably

    Well, obviously!

Was also at ND game. Thought it was more than 2k. I would check our allotment.

I was also at the ND game and there seemed like a LOT more than 2K or even 5K there.  WAY more than even the Meineke Bowl or Miami Beach Bowl last season(which was 5K Bulls fans).

Do you have links to these attendance figures?  I was at Notre Dame and it was not 10k.  I think it might have been a very respectable 2k.  I'm doubtful about FSU and Auburn numbers as well.

People have been complaining about attendance forever and I find it interesting that it Big East numbers keep inflating.

We will have about 2K at the game which was probably what we brought last time.

Obviously, I do not, but you can't say that they were 2,000 or less.  FSU was clearly 13k or more, and Notre Dame was 5k or more based on eye test alone(you could tell where the USF fans were cause all the ND fans left by the end), and Auburn was maybe around 5K including our 380 member band that year.

So yeah, were my numbers inflated?  Maybe.  Not for fsu '09 though.

    GO BULLS!!!

  6. OK...so last year I believe our Miami Beach Bowl attendance was around 5-6K judging from a Times article around the date of the bowl saying we had reached that level.

A couple of questions, since this Bowl is twice as far away as Miami, though we had a better season, have the 2nd best offense in the country, AND just hired charlie stong, do we think we will get more than 5K tickets sold?

Do we expect a good showing? What are we happy with?  I've seen a lot of members on this board just buying tickets, but not actually attending.  I haven't bought my tix yet, but I'm just buying two.  How many other Bulls will be there?! Where are we on our allotment?  What's our allotment?

I can't help but think back to the Big East days again, when we could roll up to @Auburn, @FSU in Tally or @Notre Dame in South Bend with 10-13k for a regular season game.

What are we expecting folks? I'm hoping for 10k...hope I'm not far off.  :/

    Thanks!

So I've been to many of these stadiums (Minnesota, Baylor, North Texas, etc..) But the one I have not seen mentioned that I find to be one of the best and most underrated stadiums and campuses in the country is TCU.  This stadium is beautiful and with a capacity of 45,000 should be exactly what we are looking for.  The details of the stadium truly reflect an atmosphere that radiates purple and the team brand everywhere.  The stone working in and around the stadium also offer rich detail and true tradition (no chain link to be found).  If you ever get a chance to visit this campus do yourself a favor and go.  The stadium is open to the public, the campus is gorgeous and the surrounding area lends itself to an amazing gameday atmosphere.

    DING DING DING!!!

    THIS ONE!!!

Make it 45k and call it a day...

    Perfect.

I perfer Stanford's Stadium. Two thirds of the stadium is under ground, you can use the earth for supports and that would really lower the cost. Exapansion is easy since the lower deck will not need strong supports. An upper deck wold be built like the lower deck of most other stadiums.

Great idea but wouldnt work in Florida.  Im no architect, or geologist, but it rains a WHOLE lot more in Tampa florida than it does in palo alto.  And you cant dig more than two/three feet into the ground in swampy florida without hitting water.

    So yeah...no underground.

I believe no matter what, USF would never build an OCS with a smaller capacity than ucf's

    Exactly...this^^^

Im guessing something like what they have at East Carolina.  Maybe a Semi-Closed Bowl, with one side having am upper level, with Seating Capacity of around 45-50k.  Im thinking back to our big east years and remembering, didnt we average around 44k for games back then.  Basically a sell out of RayJay's lower bowl?

If we can somehow coincide a move to the Big12 or another power5 conference with an OCS, and play better competition(and keep winning) averaging 45-50k shouldnt be an issue.  my $0.02.

    GO BULLS!!!

  10. I'm driving from Miami, stopping through orlando.  Not coming back, continuing up north back to NYC after the Bowl.  It'll cost me a few tanks of gas.  So, $80 or less.

This is honestly the best idea.  Road tripping it is the BEST way.  Rent a car put up your BULLS FLAGS and ROAD TRIP.  lol

Flowers is still Flowers. That is all.

    Seriously ^^^THIS

If I remember correctly, didn't Willie "let flowers go" during the Syracuse game last year? As sort of a last ditch effort to save his job and our season. lol Meaning, didn't slick Willie put more of the responsibilities and "play calling" in our talented players hands, and then mold what they wanted to do around that going forward?

We'll be fine.  If D holds up, we win big!

  13. Austin's a great city and honestly one of the best in texas.  Very progressive with an incredible restaurant and food truck culture.  Kinda booming right now though...past fewtimes i've passed through on business ive noticed new high rise aprtments and other building and such.  Place is blowing up with real estate and commerce.  I would imagine the traffic is just getting worse and worse...i remember it was always pretty rough.   Because, like florida, texas doesnt believe in REAL public transportation.  Light rail, trains, REAL bus systems.

    just my two cents...

    GO BULLS!!!

  14. Kind of agree...but maybe Dungy sees something we dont see?  Maybe he thought (after Strong got fired) a little recommendation to Oregon was necessary to get taggart on Oregons radar/out of here, and thus to open the doors for Strong to be in tampa.  Srsly.  This is kind of an interesting turn of events and the timing couldnt be more precarious/coincidental.

Im not really a conspiracy theorist-type...but this looks like one if I've ever seen one!

    GO BULLS!!!
