HEY everyone on that 10:30am Southwest flight. The price just dropped $40. You can go modify your reservation to apply it.

I wonder why all of them have to go to NY. Sounds expensive.

Just making sure people realize that family weekend is nothing to do with alumni and their families .... it is a weekend for parents of current students to come to campus and spend a weekend with their student.

 

It appeals to traditional aged freshmen students who are not from the Tampa Bay area. IE - your family from out of state comes and checks up on you.

 

The game is picked (in the past at least) based on the date and not the opponent. They want something from late September to mid October, so that the kids who are home sick or slacking off have a chance for their families to make a positive impact on their academics.

Oh I know that. But when I was at USF it was never a big deal. My brother is a current USF student and hasn't even heard of it. My sister at UCF knows all about hers because they send out tons of mailings on it.

I'm surprised there's a nonstop from Tampa to Flint. Guessing there will be a lot of USF fans onboard since you get to sleep in and still get up there in plenty of time. And it's cheap!

I booked my trip up there, 10:30AM to Flint on Southwest. Haven't decided on return flight yet as the flight back from Flint is 7am Sunday....thinking possibly a Sunday afternoon flight from Detroit.

 

If you are flying up on Friday we are on the same flight.  Hopefully we'll get to meet.

They do family weekend but it's not done very well and you do pretty much all of it on your own...

I was thinking about going to the UCF game. I know as a student, they would offer tickets, but not sure when it comes to season ticket holders.

 

You'll be able to request away game tickets in a couple months, but don't expect any sort of 'special'.

I like having my same seats, around my friends, and seeing the same people every home game. More than worth it.

The USF Athletics page on Facebook posted that our next men's basketball game was vs Seton Hall in NYC. I guess we're skipping the Cinci game Saturday.

Quality of opponents may go down, but we still have to pay to play at RJS...
