  1. If you notice, we did get trombone slide covers these past two weeks, there is still some work to be done to them but they will be in full working order by the womens confrence tourny and for football season

Good to know. I haven't been able to watch USF play for a bit (I live in NC now) so I wasn't aware, but I'm glad to hear there's progress. Wasn't that a direct contribution from a member of this board for that explicit purpose?

  2. Hey HOT folks,

Any knowledge of what contributions made will mean to the program at this point? I know many on this board have contributed significantly, and I'd like to think that more of your friends/family/acquaintances have done the same. I know there were some specific financial needs to be met--specifically, uniforms and increased away game travel. Any chance we'll be seeing either of the above or anything else in the season to come?

  3. I tried to organize this with SBC 2 years ago or so.  I talked to everyone and it just couldn't happen.  They don't have cable connections out there, we couldn't get cable to be set up for only that one game.  Also, the drinking that Eric mentioned.  I tried really hard to make it work and it just couldn't happen.

Just remembered.  I tried to get this organized for the 04 Louisville game.

Oh yeah, that's when we tried it!

  4. re: the CD: I know that the current issue is getting copyrights for the songs that HOT doesn't own. What about in the meantime (or maybe for good, if it ends up going that route) releasing an EP of a few songs you do own? the Bull, the Alma Mater, the Fight Song, whatever  downs cheers aren't based on another song, March V, and maybe a fight song "remix" where you drop out to percussion and low brass and have everyone else sing the fight song? That's a solid 6 tracks that you could perhaps sell (for a lower price than otherwise intended, of course)

  5. what bothers me is the people walking around wearing gator crap

actually what got me the most mad was tuesday, i was in the marine science building on the st pete campus going to one of my classes, and i see a "Go Gators" sign hanging on a teachers office door, how often do you think you see "Go Bulls" signs hanging in UF buildings...  >:(

See, that one doesn't bother me. I think it's far more likely that a professor actually attended and has a degree or two from UF than the average undergrad at USF who likely has no real connection to the Gators.

  6. This is hillarious to me. I remember the day when you would walk into every store in town and they didn't even carry our MERCH! You newbies need to get real. The only concern at this point should be if a place DIDN'T carry BULLS merch at all! Be grateful you became a BULL in an era where you can walk into just about any store and pick up some merch. I used to walk into WAL-MART on fletcher, publix on fowler & Sports Fanatic @ UMALL and  SEE NOTHING RELATED TO MY TEAM >:(nothing but gayterd, homocane & nole( can't think of anything) CRAP!

You missed the obvious "semenhole" (not sure if I can say that on this board)

  7. And do you know what bands are included in that 39% of bands that use flips?  Maybe a Band like Ohio State ("the best d@mn band in the land")!

The OSU band is horrible. Did anyone see them perform at the BCS Championship? They're embarassing. Not only are they not the best band in the land, they're not even the best band in the state of Ohio.

That having been said, you'll never see them on the field with flips. EVER. Their crappy pep band has been sighted with flips at hockey games on occasion.

The Ohio Marching 110, on the other hand, is a non-music band in all performances and locations. That's been the policy in Athens since the 70's at the very least, back when they were the "110 Marching Men of Ohio." Even alumni aren't allowed to use music on band day -- you're expected to know your music and tech when you show up on campus.

TBDBITL's show as filmed by Fox at the BCS Nat'l Championship Game is by no means a measure of the program. Here's the same show, filmed with a stationary camera:

Don't get me wrong though, I love the 110 too... and they don't have to be the SWAC North or anything else, they are what they are--a VERY good program of their own right. And the MAC's no slouch of a marching conference either.

And now, to be on topic, my opinion is no flips on the field. But whatever.
