-Gotta say Christmas... don't know yet if I'll make the Bowl game this year.

2.  If you could sit down with a stud RB recruit right now how would you sell them on USF?

-I'm sitting in your house right now because YOU can be the one who will help us make the next step. You have an opportunity here that doesn't exist at many other universities. Come write history.

3.  Of all the BCS bowls which would you like our Bulls to attend in the future? Why?

-Barring the NC game (of course), I'd say Orange Bowl because of the sheer amount of GREEN that would be in the stands there. Sugar Bowl wouldn't be a bad trip, and there's always been a place in my heart for The Granddaddy of 'em All as well.

4. If hollywood makes a movie about our Bulls who would they have play the Jimbo?

-Bruce Willis

5.  If Andre were still a Bull this year what bowl would we be going to this year?

-Andre IS still a Bull and will always BE a Bull. However, if Andre were still playing for the Bulls this year I'd have to put us in the BCS. Rutgers I think we could have easily pulled off (clearly Hall is worth more than 2 points), leaving Loovul and 'Nasti in conference. Winning one of those, plus the Kansas game puts us at 11-1 and as conference champs or possibly an at-large.

Had to be some great talk around the office cooler.  Nice LDB, you get to travel WV right after the game.  Was it safe ?

I was in WV for the game--that was my only reason for having been there. I was in the midst of holiday travel so after the game it was down to VA via MD, so I saw plenty of Eers in the rest of WV, MD, and VA.

It was definitely safe, there wasn't even any drama leaving the stadium. But I was **** sure everyone in blue and gold knew who the guy in green was!  ;D

I would love to hear if there's some plan for the donation and making sure that additional tickets I buy are donated in some sort of way that would put green and gold butts in seats. Otherwise, me purchasing two additional seats does little else than give me room to stretch my arms and legs.

Bulliever, you'll get more familiar with facebook, but the fact that the group's been created and so many of us are joining it could be a great recruitment tool for the board. Friends of those of us who joined will see the group on our mini-feed and likely peek over out of curiosity.

I talked to the bowl rep today, and they're still finalizing the gift bags. The big team event is to visit the Civil Rights Institute in Birmingham ...  and yes, there's a pizza party for both teams.

Any word on the rest of the events for fans, teams, and bands for B'ham? They are the only one of the bowls that may be an option for us that says nothing about such on their website.

Interesting... I think it'd be silly, although quite frankly, Cincy's closer to both b'ham and Toronto than we are so if B'ham picks first and looks out for themselves only, that could be the case.

It means my Thanksgiving travel was certainly not in vain. It means congrats and pats on the back from virtually everyone in my office (they all know I'm a BULL), calls from friends I haven't talked to in months, texts from people asking "did you see?" (yup! from the stadium!) and holding my head high while seeing tons of Eers on the rest of my travel through WV, VA, and MD. It also means that in 2 years in conference we've beaten EVERYONE in the BE at least once. It's a beautiful look at things to come.

Actually, there is a little Iconic U on the Bass Drum as it stands. I will check into getting a big size Iconic U. Anyone know where I can get one that big at? Probably have to get it made, huh?

The folks at FastSigns/Bull Outfitter could probably make some sort of large decal that'd work for that... a quick google search led me to http://www.headfirst-online.com/ that does custom heads.

I'm probably getting way ahead of myself, but how sweet would that be for all of the HOTDL bass heads?

I believe, that thr trombone slide covers are on the plate of our Director.  A bass drum head with the Iconic U would look H.O.T.; not to mention as well to have candy dark green drums with gold hardware.

though it would be a bit more of a monetary commitment, I've seen some schools (Xavier comes to mind) where their first trumpets have herald trumpets with a school banner. I think an iconic U on the kick drum head is in order as well, if it's not already there.

I actually found the WVU fans to be gracious at best and apathetic at worst. I got to chatting with one guy and an older woman sitting in our section, and I was leaving the stadium, one fan came up and told me congrats and our boys really did the thing out there, while some of the others (we were on a street corner waiting to cross) nodded in agreement.

I think a bowl win plus a strong looking recruiting class might get us in at no higher than 25. More likely, I say we get some votes and it takes us a few wins to crack the top 25.

Sounds like a great program y'all are putting on. I've been to the Festival of Winds Band Extrav before, but sounds like you're putting a new twist on it. FoW has always been a good recruiting tool (at least I'd assume so) but this is a GREAT opportunity to show potential future HOT members that not only is HOT a great band, but they've got support from athletics fans as well. If you're in town and free, definitely go out and support your HOT!

I got a call from a buddy of mine from VA who now lives in Nebraska, asking me if I saw the game... After leaving the stadium in Morgantown I turned my phone back on and told him yeah, I saw it. ;-) Haven't been back to work after the holiday, but everyone there knows how big a Bulls fan I am so I expect to hear something tomorrow when I go back in as well.

I'll be getting into town late tonight (well, Fairmont, actually, where our hotel is). Is there some other green and gold about?

No.... not anymore... maybe thats when they started leading people out of the stadium?

When I was there (not long ago--'03 and '04 football seasons) they did both... it sounds as though the postgame concert they are talking about may have taken its place, and probably makes more sense. They did draw a crowd up by the ship in the 3rd quarter, but it probably makes more sense that they don't directly conflict with the game.

People are supposed to stay... no matter what.  We sing the Alma Mater during pre-game and after the game... its a normal tradition at college games.

The drumline plays after every game.  It's been a tradition for some time (maybe the first season, but I'm not sure).  At least since 2003 when I came in.

Does the HOTDL still do the cadences in the end of halftime/3rd quarter after returning from the field show? I used to love going up by the ship for that.

Speaking of Jessica Dickson's chant... we are trying to come up with chants for the new players (and a few returners).. so if you have any ideas, please let me know and I'll pass them on to the band.  Rachel Sheats in particular has begged the band for a chant of her own.. so help us out with some fresh ideas!

Don't know about a chant, but every time she scores you could should out "Oh Sheats!" (a la Oh S*** from that Fergie song)

The fact is, our athletic dept. puts no effort into promoting the games, for any sport really.   I never hear anything about the games until they're over. The only info I really get is from this message board. Somebodys' gotta let people know what there missin out on. Flyers, radio, tv ad's, whatever. Heck, send the players out on campus during the week to hand out flyers and promote.

Maybe they could beat you over the head with a stick and drag you in too.  I get sick of reading these lazy fan posts, about why not call me whenever we have a game so I know.  Nevermind that there was a newspaper ad for this game, never mind it's on USF's OFFICIAL Website, nevermind there is a complete schedule in the Oracle or articles about the game that night in the Oracle, Times, and Tribune....nevermind they've passed schedules all over the city to anyone willing to take them....

Now, we have another game next Monday night against Stetson at 7PM.  Once you arrive be sure to find a table at one of the entrances that is chocked full of schedules, posters, programs, etc.  Take one of the pocket schedules and stuff it into your wallet.  THEN YOU'LL HAVE NO MORE EXCUSES.
