Gregory will get this figured out. Hard to expect this team to win when they had a month long lay off and face two tough defensive teams when they come back.

Heat check - because that's when you want someone to find out if they are hot or not.

Tulane is a good free throw shooting team.
-
Good to Collins show up late! Big baskets!

Why do we always seem to blow leads late in games and are never able to score? 4 turnovers in our last 4 possessions.

Good points until the end. This is a meandering program hovering around .500. BG is .500 coach. No way I give an extension unless he shows something next year...which I believe he can.
Although we don't look like a .500 program today, even mediocrity is a pretty good place for USF. Not sure what fans are expecting when this is a tough place to win at and you can't coach they way you would want during a pandemic.
USF basketball is way more interesting that it has been in almost 10 years. Gregory did that.

He gets one more year for me. Yes this year is a throw away but if this team poops the bed next year a change needs to be made.
Seeing where this program was under Antigua, Gregory has really upped the level of talent within the program. The CBI was proof that he can put together a winning team. He has just been snake bit by injuries and now having time to get this group to mesh.
If anything I think Gregory deserves an extension.

This is the problem with this season (basketball-wise, not world-problem wise). Really hard to get into a rhythm when there are so many starts and stops in between.
Yep. This season is a complete throw away year. Just work on getting players better. This team should be much more competitive next season.

Gregory just needs the practice time to get these guys better. I am sure he didn't intentionally recruit players who can't shoot the basketball.

Watching this offense is painful.

The always competitive men’s soccer program is our newest train wreck. They lost to SMU last night, 7-0, and they’ve scored 2 goals in three games. We hired the coach from FGCU when Keifer left for NC State and he’s cratering the program. Well done.
You need to give him 3 years to get "his guys" into the program. Nobody should be judging any coach during the pandemic.

Best I could muster, based on my speculative observation, was that his defense was lacking. If he could meaningfully contribute, he could have bulked up. MBB's strength coach has a good pedigree.
Yeah he is a liability on defense and lacks lateral quickness. His game is likely better suited for low level D-I or D2.

I don’t really follow the MBB team that closely but for those of you who do, how long is Gregory’s rope?
Has the team shown steadily improvement since hes come in or nah?
They overachieved in his second year and last season they were besieged by injuries. This year he just hasn't had enough time to fit the new pieces together and everyone should have a pass with the impacts of Covid. IMO, Gregory should actually have his contract extended because he rebuilt this program from nothing and he has assembled the best talent since the Greenburg days.

By who and how?
Either a lawsuit from an AG in a blue state or Congress because they can legislate it. After watching that freaky 30-for-30 with Al Davis, the G5 needs an Al Davis type to turn things on its head.

Any insights into what the delay in announcing a formal ground breaking date?

Not a fan of most of their teams but I think Boston is feeling fine with the past 15 years...
That would imply that Boston fans have perspective.

Congratulations to all the local pro sports teams! Its been a welcome distraction from a pretty awful year. Imagine if you live in Boston, New York or Detroit.
Women's basketball is probably our best hope for USF success this year that people have awareness to. I know this isn't anatomically correct but Go Lady Bulls!

True. I think we got spoiled by having early success on a shoestring budget. They got lulled into thinking that was sustainable. Still, as much as we want to pile on Judy for athletics, she was a true hero when it came to driving forward the university’s actual mission.
Athletically, Our rise and fall over the past 20 years mirrors Gamestop stock over the past 2 weeks. Academically we are are in the the S&P 100!

Hoping all the players, staff and their families are able to get through things safely.

With UCF, Temple and Tulane again on the schedule still we can still get to 10 wins. All things considered 10-10 going into the conference tournament would be a good season.
