At least I will agree that MK has done a pretty decent job of scheduling and I am just not as excited about it as I should be since we have been unlikely to win any games for the foreseeable future.

He has done a fantastic job with scheduling! Over the next 7 years we have home games against Florida, Alabama, Notre Dame, Miami, Louisville, BYU, North Carolina State and Boise State. Nobody in the G5 can match that home schedule.

I am serious I’ve never understood how anyone saw this as a home run hire and every passing day I find it more perplexing. If we needed a party planner for hosting a playoff of the biggest names in college football, he would be the natural hire but to rescue a program from the brink of collapse? He seems to only keep digging us further, what am I missing that others seem to see from his results?

He's hired a coordinator from one of the premier football programs in the country, has an elite women's basketball program, has the best non-conference home schedule of any G5 school, and APR scores at an all-time high. Men's basketball is turning a corner and we just need to give Scott time to recruit and get in his guys. If we can live through Holtz and Antigua then we can live through this.

Does this undying loyalty to people being paid handsomely to fail miserably spill into any other part of your life. Their jobs are not to try their best they are to succeed and if they just tried to for once go over the ever dropping bar they continue to crawl under support would go up with it as well. We fund their failings and there is no evidence that this group will not squander every extra penny given to them. At some point there has to be some form of expectations on professionals and if they do not care for the criticism that comes with their station they should actually try to do better or recognize their incompetence and find something more suited for them. Even pyramid schemes recognize that they have to pay off sometimes to at least some people, I can’t remember the last time it felt like it paid off to be a USF fan.

No because sports is different than the rest of life.

It’s the kind of thinking by bjef4844 that has put us in this position. Looking for excuses and blindly accepting a terrible product.

I'm just trying to be positive. I understand the frustration - losing is never fun. But if our leaders fail I want to know we at least gave them our full support.

We really do just play one on one, Collins has gotten worse, too slow and does not handle the ball well enough, turnovers kill us.  Durr has really improved but has a low ceiling, dude has no ups.  JB is streaky but can’t create like the rest of the team.  We have said ad nauseam how Lex lost his athleticism, Castaneda is better but lacks a burst and quickness.  Tchewa is a project and does not handle the ball well but is showing improvement and am liking what I see, Murphy is a freak athlete but he is not sure what to do with the ball to score.  In the end we are simply mediocre.

Why would you expect Tchewa to hand the ball well? He's a 7 footer who plays down low and thought he played pretty good yesterday. And go easy on Yetna - he is 15 months removed from major knee surgery. We knew it would be a longer road to recovery from him to get back to 100%. You guys have unrealistic expectations. Finishing at 10-10 would be a good year from what this team has had to go through, and the limited time Gregory has had to get the team to gel.

I wonder how long Brad will want to keep this board going for the 15 of us who are still on it. Sad times indeed.

I think people are just tired of all the bashing of the athletic department and the people pouring their professional lives into it. We are just fans but this is their career.  Why go to a message board and listen to people complain and bash people - if you are a true fan then you should support your school and teams in good times and bad.

I'd rather have a message board with only a few people that all agree in supporting our student-athletes and those who have chosen to call USF their professional homes.

Except for a few diehards, nobody cares about USF athletics.  The administration doesn’t care.  Students don’t care.  The community and the alumni don’t care.  This apathy transcends everything so there’s no culture here to perform and excel.   I honestly don’t know how to change things or if at this point it can be changed.  Maybe the new President will help with a top down commitment.  I know it’s early but so far I’ve been quite underwhelmed by the VPoA.

MK was given a mess to deal with and with a limited budget. He has done an awesome job with scheduling for the football program, the women's basketball program is as strong as ever, he hired a coordinator from one of the best football programs in the country and APR's are at all-time high.

People bought in too hard to the Big 4 concept back in 2007 and its left alot of the flaky fanbase disillusioned and when it couldn't be sustained people jumped on some other bandwagon. USF can get to that level again but need the fans to show their support even in down times. MK will get us there, we just need to give him time - 3 years is nothing in the grand scheme of things and what he has done under the current set of circumstances is nothing short of amazing!

He took over a highly competitive program .... what was wrong with Keifer's guys?

Unless you are promoting someone who has been on the staff, you have to let the new coach an opportunity to install his system with his players. Seeing a team take a step back or two isn't unusual. We really need everyone to manage their expectations better.

So if the team wins 12 games next year you still on board? I mean how many free rides does he get?

It goes beyond just how many wins, but the context behind those wins and those losses. Having seen the mess that the basketball program has been I think that MK gives him alot of rope. Gregory has changed the culture of the program and the eventually Gregory will get us into the NCAAT. IMO MK should extend him.

I don't remember but how many top 50 wins did we have that year?

Why does that matter? I am not arguing with you, just not sure why it would matter then. In his second season after taking over for Antigua he got players to come here and he led them to a post-season championship. Last season he was just unlucky with the Yetna injury, and everyone should get a free pass this season due to the pandemic.

Will find out next year I guess. I gave up my seats before CBG got here because I was leaving the games po'd.  If it happens after next year I'll take another couple years off again. I'm getting old and can't waste my time being po'd about USF Athletics

The CBI championship should be proof that he can win here. 24 wins is not a fluke.

CBG doesn't have any sons so are you one of his daughters?  I like the guy and the Yetna injury was unfortunate, but this is like watching grass grow. Just a bad offensive team.  And don't see anyone in the roster that can fill it up. Murphy is a gifted athlete but can't seem to score. Should have asked for a refund instead of rolling my tickets over to next year.

He has just been unlucky that's all. The offense wasn't good the last two games because we have faced two tough defenses after being off for a month. We do have a really good offense but there hasn't been time to get all the new pieces to gel with the pandemic.
