  1. I am by no means a Gators fan, but if they hold on to win the SEC Championship Game and Michigan goes to the National Championship game, then the system is more screwed up then I ever thought.

How can a team who didn't even win their own conference play for the National Title?

    That is BS!

.....as I am typing this Arkansas just took the lead.  :-/

  2. Here's his response to my email... at least the guy responds to his constituentcy... gotta give him credit where credit is due.

    Bill's response:

great stuff, terry...thanks for sharing..I have a buddy on the faculty at USF, so feel free to keep me updated on the alumni perception of the sports program..the baseball team has it very tough, playing on that little league field, while the football team plays at R.James, right?...anyway, thanks for the info.

He is friends with Dr. Richard Wilber who teaches Mass. Comm. and Journalism classes at USF.  I was in his class this semester and he said that Plaschke was a former student of his.

So he should be pretty familiar with the program.

But, to be honest.  Other than the BCS bowl games does anybody really watch random bowl games unless they have a rooting interest or a betting interest.  I usually watch the Outback Bowl, because its local.

I could see why anyone not involved with USF or NC State wouldn't care about this game.  But, we care and that is really all that matters.

  3. All this talk about Mariucci not being successful in Detroit is fine.  But, who has been successful in Detroit that didn't have Barry Sanders in the backfield?

However, the guy was 13-3 and 12-4 with the 49ers. I believe he still has a winning record in the NFL overall including the last few years in Detroit.  So its not like the guy is some sort of complete failure.  He also had a pretty good year at Cal, the one year he was their coach.

I think he is a perfect fit as a college coach.

  4. or go to school in tampa, but from south florida.  ::)

Maybe if the Dolphins could sell out a home game, that remark would have some legitmacy to it.

How about the Lightning being # 2 in the NHL in attendance?  How about the Bucs having a 100K person waiting list for season tickets?

The Rays will be fine in a few years too now that we have competent ownership in place.

  5. Marquel came too soon.  Could you imagine this offense with him at QB.  This is the best OL in school history.  They have a ton of talented receivers and the best RB in school history.

The defense is solid and we may have wasted them this year.

I just hope Carlton Hill lives up to the hype.

How much would you pay to see Mr. Blackwell under center against WVU next week?

    Only in our dreams.  :(

  6. Much better post than your last one.

And I hear you loud and clear...I too am heartbroken after that loss.

I am afraid the team is going to have a hard time getting up for that game next week now.  Hopefully, there will still be a big crowd and they can finish off the season well and finish undefeated at home.

They are still one of only 2 schools to have not trailed at home all year.  USC is the other.   That is pretty impressive company for this program.  Plus,  a big crowd next week will look good to a potential bowl game.

  7. I've got news for you...."real" fans are not ones that support a team 'no matter what' despite how romantic of an idea that is. By showing up at WVU, what you're basically saying is that you approve of the way things currently are.  Even our wins have been bitter-sweet because they have all been overshadowed by PJ/poor play calling etc etc....well it finally caught up with us. This loss to #$%$ CONNETICUT (of all teams) will set up back YEARS...YEARS in the national spotlight.

When I start seeing something I approve of..even if it means losses...then I'll start giving my money.

You do understand the difference between pro-football and college, right?  This is your shool's football team.  They are your/our school no matter what.  You don't go jump on some other school's bandwagon after your school's team has a bad game.  That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.  Your $25 will not be missed.  You spent a heck of a lot more money than that to get your USF education that a $25 football ticket won't kill the school.   But, if enough of our students and alumni feel this way and act this way after a loss our school will take a big hit on its national image.

USF could go 0-10 for 100 years in a row and they would still be my school.  But, I can't say that a 2nd place finish in our first year in a BCS conference is a disappointment.  Especially considering our football program is only 9 years  old.  Lets just keep that in perspective.  This is still one of the most successful programs ever after 9 year in the history of the NCAA.

  8. Well on Ticketmaster there are no longer any Club Level seats left and the best seats available in the lower bowl are the corner endzone seats.

That is a very good sign more than a week from game day.  Especially, considering just yesterday there were a lot of good seats available.

Let's just hope its Bulls fans buying them up and not WVU fans planning to travel.

  9. I would love to see you say that to his face.  Go up to him on campus Monday and tell him that he is a waste.  I am sure he would be happy to discuss your opinion of him with you.

You are a waste.  And an embarassment to our fan base and more importantly our school.  Take your trash talk of our student athletes elsewhere.

Thank you to whoever edited the title of this thread.

  10. The Pittsburgh loss is the only bad loss.  Losing to Miami in Miami by the same score that Va. Tech lost to them at home is impressive.  And if it weren't for a horrible first 8 minutes at Penn State, the Bulls could have won that game.

Miami and Penn State are each one play away from being undefeated.  If the Bulls, had beat Pitt, they would be in the top 25 right now.

Woulda shoulda coulda....I know.  But, still this is an impressive 4-3 team considering the schedule they have played.

December 3rd is shaping up to be the Big East Championship game.
