Lets beat UCF, they look like they are gonna have 55k for their game (they hit 50k tonight)

That Leavitt's new contract requires that the school must pay for flights unless the game is reasonable to drive to (UCF/UF) as a result of the Miami game.
It also has a provision that the school must have PLANS for a stadium to call their own by 2012, just plans, not an actual stadium
Can anyone confirm this?

Does this mean more commercials like Bowden, Meyer, and Donovan have..because those are hilaious.

Sweet, the same thing KSU was supossably offering...
Lets give Rod Smith a raise now!

Student, living off loans...

That is true Cuban, I remember reading that the SEC teams are reverting to more pep bands at away games to save athletic money.
-
We had to BUS the TEAM down to Miami, where are we getting money to FLY the BAND to Hartford.
-
ESPNNews said the coaching search is ongoing, but Leavitt is the lead candidate, nothing is final yet and that his decision will come after the game this weekend.
-
1010 and Maisel have said they believe that an intial agreement in principle has been made.
Yes, I know what it means, I don't go to UCF...(oh ya I went there)
-
Most of what I have heard has come off of 620 and 1010 as well as Ivan Maisel on ESPN Gameday Saturday, they all have said Leavitt to KSU for a little over a million.

Meyer did it at Utah...

The name most closely associated with being at the top of the list is South Florida coach Jim Leavitt, who was on Snyder’s staff at K-State from 1990 to 1995. Weiser won’t speak about anybody directly, however.
“I’m not confirming or denying anything. I’ve tried in a diplomatic way to say I’m not commenting,†he said. - KC Star
Dimel has talked with the perceived top target, South Florida's Jim Leavitt, with whom he is close. - Witchita Eagle

I think the Outback is choosing Florida, they have commited consessions according to local radio.
As for the Independence Bowl...who wants to be in Shreveport...its a step above Mobile...right UCF
-
Many big time people are saying that Leavitt has agreed in principle with KSU...

No Citrus is the highest paying Non-BCS Bowl (somewhere around 5.3 Mil)
-
They're only going to wave it if UCF finds them a replacement.
SC, In finding a replacement Carolina stated it could be a I-AA team, SC wanted to dummy down their schedule, they have some tough games next year.
-
South Carolina wanted UCF to bail...if they didnt they wouldn't have waived the fee.
UCF is going to be a tough team next year, I think they play Florida

SPAMMED...Might wanna take that email off

2005: LSU 35th USF 60th
2004: LSU 41st USF 66th
2003: LSU 19th USF 72nd
Point blank he is the offensive coordinator of team that has been to a couple BCS bowls, won a national title and made the transition of a coach with only 1 loss so far this year.
He's good, I'd hire him, However, So will MANY teams. We don't be able to afford it.
-
Not sure...Meyer's contract is laden with deals for doing commercials, booster functions, camps etc. I know UCF pays most of O'Leary's K

Hello...Ron Zook made a lil over a mil at UF, Coker makes about 1.5 Mil, Bowden makes 2.5 Mil. GOL makes 750,000. Where are we getting 1 Mil for a coach all those programs have much larger budgets than our 19 Mil.
HELL, we took a bus to a game in Miami this year. This program doesnt have an extra 1M for a top line coach, lets not kid ourselves...
-
Once again there is NO MONEY to spend on a coach, we operate on a 19M a year budget. It's the lowest of the BCS conferences. If you lose CJL your going to bring in someone on the current staff or an assistant coach that isn't in high demand.
Yes we are a BCS team, but the school is not committed to spending like a BCS team, and don't have the revenues yet to do so....
-
USF would promote from within, we don't have the money to pay for a top line coach...
gol has demonstrated

There is no denying that both coaches are good. However, to compare a 40 year old coach who is at the beginning of his career to a guy who has accomplished a lot and has only about 10 years left in his career is just stupid.
While we're at it lets compare Bobby Knight and Billy Donovan...
